OPEN GARDENS 2014 meeting Wednesday Oct 2nd
—Stanton Village Hall 7.30pm
Please come along to discuss which month this shall be held
(either still in May which has the advantage of being the first
OG weekend of the season—or later in June / July—when
Stanton gardens may look more colourful!)
We need volunteers to help form a work group in order for this
event to go ahead. Open Gardens 2013 raised £3500 towards
Village amenities—so it is well worth the effort and many hands
make light work. (Otherwise it is a lot of work for just a few!)
We know the format of the event—but are open to new ideas—to
make it the best Open Gardens yet!
We look forward to seeing you there! A glass of wine will be
available—to tempt you along and to help ideas flow!
Sat 12th OCTOBER—Stanton Village Hall—7pm
Live “OWL” demonstration and talk—James McKay
Come and learn about the wonders of Owls and see them in real life
flying around the Village Hall! An event we’d especially like to encourage
children to attend.
£3.50 per adult and £1.50 per child. The funds will go towards the cost
of the demonstration and the upkeep of the owls.
Please contact Jill Avent 01629 636510 / [email protected]
—if you would like to come—only 15 places left!
Saturday 9th NOVEMBER 8pm — “Cocktails and Canapés”
To kick off the “Silly Season” - a fun evening (not a fundraiser this time)
is being held in Stanton Village Hall — with guest Cocktail Waiter and
Canapé Girls—“Faces of Beauty” !
There will also be a card magician / illusionist circulating amongst the
party —whilst the revelers enjoy their cocktails and canapés.
The evening continues with music and dancing in a party atmosphere —
for those that want to enjoy the fun!!
Posh frocks for the ladies required! A chance to dress up and make an
entrance!!! Men can wear frocks too if they want—after all it is nearly
panto season! However I am sure the ladies would prefer the men in
more suitable attire!
Tickets available at £15 each — includes entertainment / 3 cocktails
each and various canapés. Extra cocktails / wine available for a
donation or BYO!
Please contact Jill Avent 01629 636510 / [email protected] to
book your tickets. Ideally need 40 tickets sold in order for the event
to go ahead—so please call NOW!

BONFIRE NIGHT
The pole will go up in the field
weekend of 5th / 6th October.
Please look through your garage and
shed and find some old pieces of
wood / cardboard etc – to help build
up the fire before the event!
To ensure that this event goes ahead
— volunteers are needed for
 fundraising for the fireworks, (last
year a successful coffee morning
was held)
 door knocking with the Guy and
 helping out with food on the night.
If you can help out please contact
Will Chandler 01629 636367 asap
