Who we are
SOLIS was founded by Dr. W. Schaufelberger in 1908. He invented the
famous SOLIS heating pad and brought it onto the market at the beginning
of the twentieth century. A ground breaking range of professional hairdryers
followed in 1933 with hairdryer production in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1983
the entrepreneur Willi A. Nauer took over SOLIS AG and now his son Thomas
Nauer manages the business with 3 strategic business divisions: Hospitality,
Professional and Retail. Nowadays production is located in Ticino, Switzerland
and SOLIS appliances are available in more than 40 countries around the
globe.

As a Swiss family company, SOLIS has ever since been guided by its credo

Manufactured with precision and 100% quality control
In Mendrisio, Switzerland, each hairdryer is produced to the highest standards,
starting from the housing by using precision injection moulding machines to
the final assembly by hand. Each hairdryer undergoes a rigid quality control
prior to being shipped to hair stylists and hotels around the world.

Since 1933 SOLIS has been producing Swiss Made hairdryers for the world’s
best hair stylists and now for the first time SOLIS has developped a range of
Hospitality hairdryers based on professional standards, for the discerning hotel
and spa.

Poor air pressure and low specifications is the reason many hotel hairdryers
are slow to dry. Our newest hairdryer, The Swiss Perfection Hairdryer, has
50% more air pressure and 40% greater airflow than average hairdryers.

Safety always comes first
All SOLIS hairdryers are built according to highest safety standards and are
approved by various regulating bodies. Right from the start of the
development of any new SOLIS product, safety is the top priority.
Not only safety and usability are a top priority, but also the environment.
Energy saving thanks to Ion-technology
Ion-technology does not only make the hair shinier, smoother and less static,
but it also considerably reduces the drying time.
Overheating Protection
All SOLIS hairdryers are fitted with a protection against overheating. Safety
thermostats cut off to prevent overheating and automatically turn on again
when the temperature has dropped below a certain threshold. This minimises the risk of a fire caused by overheating.
Minimalisation of risk of injury
SOLIS hairdryers are made out of light yet extremely strong materials.
Thereby, performing well and safely also when heavily used.
Protection class II for improved safety
All SOLIS hairdryers are built according to protection class II. Devices with
protection class II have reinforced or double insulation between the main
circuits and the output voltage or metal housing.
Keep away from water
Even though SOLIS hairdryers are built for the utmost safety, never place
hairdryers too close to a water source. SOLIS therefore recommends that a
ll hairdryers are placed a minimum of 60 cm away from any water source
at all times.
Local regulations
Only have the installation of wall-mounted models performed by a
professional technician and adhere to your local laws and safety
regulations.
Besides the considarable energy saving, ion-technology also makes hair shiny, smooth, less static
and easier to style. On the left image you see a hair dried without the use of Ion-technology on
the right hair dryed with the use of Ion-technology.
