Charcoal, Acrylic, ceramic and glass
A post-graduate in commerce , Gautam Patole chose to shift from being a photojournalist to
an artist in 2009 . He noticed that many artists struggle to survive . Most of them are
uneducated and lack marketing skill . To help them he helped Bombay Art Society to make
website but subsequently with the help of Mr Bharat Patel, an ardent art lover , set up an art
gallery in 2007to promote upcoming and deserving artists .
Ceramic painting on ceramic tiles that first attracted him. But it was charcoal medium that he
managed to tame. His charcoal works take one to the bygone era of black and white . His works are
mostly figurative. A tint of colour adds to the beauty of the charcoal .I paint to give happiness to
viewers .
In 2013 he set up an art gallery called ArtGate for Satyam collections and curated three shows before
handing over the gallery .
He is based in Mumbai and his works can be seen on his facebook.
