The Communications Center will be temporarily moving over to the EOC building located at 2678
Overseas Hwy Wednesday July 16, 2014 at 0400.
This is our temporary and back up site during emergencies.
We
plan on
being at
this site for
approximately
one month
while our
main center is being
reconfigured.
During this time our Communication Officers will be
using radio consolettes, primitive paging equipment
and laptop phone system. It is possible that as we
move through this process there are some task we
might not be able accomplish. We appreciate your
patience and understanding during this time.

My last day at work will
be July 25. My partner and I
are relocating to the St. LucieMartin County area A/K/A The
Treasure Coast of Florida to
be closer to family. Come
out and help us celebrate at

Second Quarter Service Awards
The above group, including Director Laura White
and Julie Todd from Emergency Communcations
and Lt. Charlene Sprinkle-Huff from the
Communications Division all helped coordinate
the move to the back-up Communications Center
at the Marathon Government Center.
The second quarter service awards are scheduled for August 8th at 2 p.m. at the Marathon Government Center. The following people will be honored for their years of service:

The Community Blood Center – Oneblood
greatly appreciates your continual support and the 11
units that were collected will go a long way towards
replenishing the blood supplies in our community
and ultimately saving lives. The Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Juvenile
Justice and other local organizations involved in
working with youth and their families will be collecting school supplies over the next few weeks for kids
in their programs. Youth in our Teen Court, Civil Citation and IDDS programs will be included in this effort.
There will be donation boxes placed in Sheriff’s
substations county-wide by Monday. When you are
out shopping, pick up a few supplies for those who

School supplies for needy families
House for sale on Stock Island
Farmer Jeanne and Mo the Sloth made appearances this week at the Key West Library Summer
Reading program and at Vacation Bible School at Key West Methodist Churcy. The kids all love Mo and
he loves visiting with them! Jeanne wants to thank perpetual farm volunteers Mike Grattan and Emil
LaVache for helping her out with her farm open houses. This past open house attracted a whopping
250 people to the farm! What a great turnout!

recent clean up in Islamorada. At the right, cleaning up
in Islamorada. Below, participants of the clean up gather
ahead of time to coordinate clean up plans.
Deputy Matt Koval took a report recently
of illegal dumping at the 92 mile marker in
Tavernier. He called Community Partner Keys
Sanitation to pick up the trash.
Captain Corey Bryan says the Islamorada
District is so committed to cleanin up the
Keys that even the hermit crabs in Islamorada
have joined the effort!
