Celebrating our 55th anniversary in 2011,
Mister Softee has been delighting customers worldwide by bringing ice cream treats

We are not like the other ice cream trucks
that you see on the streets. Our Ice Cream is
soft served, fresh from the truck, not frozen
or prepackaged. We offer a superior menu

Mister Softee trucks are available for company
picnics, fairs, and birthday parties. There is no
better treat for your guests, coworkers, attendees

Mister Softee truck. Mister Softee also makes a

Mister Softee Inc. was founded by two brothers,
William and James Conway, in 1956. On St.
Patrick’s day of that year, Bill and Jim took their
first truck and gave out green colored ice cream
in the neighborhoods of West Philadelphia.
By 1958 the company had outgrown the building
in Philadelphia and moved to the current
location in Runnemede, NJ. It is at this
location that Mister Softee transforms
plain trucks into Americas' most recognizable mobile ice cream vendor.

Our Trucks
Mister Softee utilizes the latest
automotive and equipment technologies to produce a complete ice
cream stand on wheels. The customized truck body is made from rust
free aluminum and is powered by
the newest General Motors Vortec
engines. The ice cream is delivered via a
high efficiency Electro Freeze soft serve machine and many of the other components are
custom made specifically for Mister Softee.
We have maintained a high standard for automotive quality for over 60 years and we will continue to use only quality vehicles with that signature Mister Softee style.

In 1960 the Conway’s commissioned
a Philadelphia Advertising Company
to create a radio commercial to promote their soon to be famous business. A song was written for this
commercial, known today as “The
Mister Softee Song”. This jingly-jangly tune
made its way onto the airwaves in the Philadelphia area by summer and the brothers quickly
decided to add music boxes with speaker to the
trucks announcing that Mister Softee was in the
neighborhood.
The ubiquitous summer evening tune (‘The
creamiest, dreamiest soft ice cream, you get from
Mister Softee”) has been luring millions of children and their parents to those red, white and
blue trucks for over fifty years.
