Our 6 – 8 graders had the opportunity to watch history on
Thursday morning as they watched Pope Francis address to the
joint meeting of Congress. They felt his message was very
important – there was particular interest in the Pope’s message
on the environment and global warning. There was some
surprise that the leader of the Catholic Church would be as well
versed on the subject as Pope Francis was. They are used to the
Pope being concerned with religious issues and church
doctrine.
Dining Out Night – Please support our Potbelly Night this

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,
Kierujemy dzisiaj naszą uwagę w szczególności ku mężczyznom studiującym w
seminarium duchownym tutejszej Archidiecezji.
obecną, 78 mężczyzn odbywa formację wstępną przed święceniami, a dalszych 60 w wieku
licealnym zapisanych jest do programu Quigley Scholars, dzięki któremu rozeznają swoje
powołanie. To łącznie 138 przyszłych księży w naszych parafiach.
zbyt wiele. Cała zebrana w ten sposób suma zostanie przeznaczona na formację nowych
kapłanów dla Archidiecezji Chicago. Darowizny można również składać przez Internet, pod
adresem: www.archchicago.org/seminarianfund.
Z góry dziękuję za Wasze wsparcie. W tym roku przypada czterdziesta rocznica moich
święceń kapłańskich. Pamiętam o Was wszystkich w codziennej modlitwie i proszę o
wzajemność.
Szczerze Wam oddany w Chrystusie,

LADIES OF THE ROSARY
WELCOMES ALL WOMEN OF THE PARISH
TO BECOME NEW MEMBERS
The Ladies of the Rosary, a group of St. Joseph Parish
Women, get together on the first Tuesday of the month
from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in Centennial (School) Hall,
5641 S. 73rd Ave.
Those women who are thinking of joining the group are
welcome to any meeting to check out the Ladies of the
Rosary. Members would be very happy to meet potential
new members.
The main function of the Ladies of the Rosary is to
provide both spiritual and financial support to St.
Joseph Church, St. Joseph School and the community.
The group raises funds in a fun way! Most of the funds
are generated from the annual Christmas party,
rummage sale and salad luncheon. Although there is
work involved, there is lots of laughter and everyone
works together.
The Ladies are then happy to donate money to St. Joseph
Church and School for maintenance, special repairs,
computers, books and more. Donating to the community
includes supporting veteran’s organizations, women in
prison, battered women and children, the homeless
through the annual coat drive and participating in the
Ladies of the Rosary mission project - the Wounded
Warrior Project.
In addition to the annual Christmas party and Salad
Luncheon, the Ladies have enjoyed trips to Drury Lane
and the Water Reclamation District. Their meetings
feature interesting speakers such as a serice dog
trainer, a member of the Soukal Florist team, a historian
talking about Resurrection Mary, and City Clerk office
representative.
More speakers are planned for the upcoming year,
including a hospice representative explaining the
benefits of hospice care, and more gardening tips form
Soukal Florist. There is something fun planned for every
meeting, a speaker, bunco game, or the yearly birthday
party.
All women of the parish should mark their calendars for
Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m., the next meeting of the
Ladies of the Rosary. They are also invited to bring a
friend and make lots of new friends!
