Welcome to Lausanne for a walking tour
that explores the many faces of this city !
This leaflet, which includes a map of the
itinerary, provides you with information
on taking part in the guided audio
walking tour at your leisure with the help
of an MP3 player.
How do I choose my route ?
The route is made up of three distinct and
independent sections, each of which can be
walked in succession or separately :
How do I listen to the commentaries and
move from one place to another ?
and 2 on Sundays. Leave this bus at the “ Lac
de Sauvabelin ” stop and start your walk with
point of interest no. 2.
The MP3 file has a total of 28 tracks : the
first includes an introduction to your walk
(whatever your point of departure), while the
other 27
relate to places of interest dotted along the
route and numbered on the plan.
The second part starts at the “ Barre ” stop
for bus no. 16. From the Lausanne Tourisme
information office in Ouchy or the railway
station it is the same itinerary as for the first
part, except that you must get off the no. 16
bus at the “ Barre ” stop and start your walk
with point of interest no. 9.
Each track linked to a place of interest
consists of two parts :
- a commentary of about 2 minutes on the
place
- detailed instructions telling you how to get
to the next place.
At the end of each commentary a signal tells
you that you can continue your walk by
following the next set of instructions.
The third part starts from the Lausanne
Tourisme information office in the railway
station, situated in the central concourse.
Start your walk with point of interest no.19.
« Nature in town »
lasting around 1hr 15 in total with
commentaries corresponding to points of
interest no. 2 to no. 8.
In the same way, another signal at the end
of each set of instructions tells you that you
have to stop in order to enjoy the next commentary.
When two places are a long way apart and
it is difficult to remember the instructions in
one go, there are gaps between each of the
sentences, which gives you time to push the
“ Pause ” button.
« Historical and modern centres »
lasting around 1hr 15 in total with
commentaries corresponding to points of
interest no. 9 to no.18.
« Around Lake Geneva »
lasting around 1hr 30 in total with
commentaries corresponding to points of
interest no.19 to no.28.
Notre-Dame Cathedral
How do I reach the departure point for
each section by public transport ?
The first part starts at the “ Lac de Sauvabelin ” stop for bus no. 16. Take the m2 metro
from the Lausanne Tourisme information
office in Ouchy or the railway station as far
as the stop for “ Bessières ”. As you leave the
metro make your way to the “ Bessières ” stop
for bus no.16 by taking the lift and crossing
the bridge on the right-hand pavement. The
bus stop is at the end of the bridge. There are
