undada em 2 de setembro de 1850 pelo farmacêutico alemão Hermann Bruno Otto Blumenau,
a cidade guarda fortes características germânicas,
encantando visitantes do Brasil e do Exterior com
sua arquitetura, gastronomia, natureza exuberante
e festas de tradição. Além dos alemães, Blumenau
abraçou outras etnias, como os italianos, cujos descendentes também cultivam suas raízes.

Development with quality of life
Founded on September 2nd, 1850 by the German pharmaceutical Bruno Otto Hermann Blumenau, the city keeps
strong Germanic features, enchanting Brazilian and foreign visitors with its architecture, cuisine, exuberant nature
and celebrations of tradition. Besides the Germans, Blumenau embraced other ethnicities, such as the Italians, whose
traditions are also preserved by their descendants.
Blumenau is national reference in items such as quality of life, infrastructure, labor-qualified, education and health.
With little more than 300 thousand inhabitants, has one of the best HDI (Human Development Index / UN) in the
country: 0.855 against a national 0.766 and a state 0.822.

Entwicklung mit Lebensqualität
Gegründet am 2. September 1850 von dem deutschen Apotheker Hermann Bruno Otto Blumenau, bewahrt die Stadt
immer noch einen starken deutschen Charakter und überrascht Besucher aus Brasilien und dem Ausland mit seiner
Architektur, Gastronomie, mit seiner üppigen Natur und seinen traditionellen Festen. Außer den Deutschen gibt es in
Blumenau noch weitere Ethnien wie die Italiener, deren Nachkommen auch ihre Traditionen pflegen.
Blumenau ist ein Beispiel Brasilien in verschiedenen Bereichen wie Lebensqualität, Infrastruktur, qualifizierte Arbeitskräfte, Technologie, Ausbildung und Gesundheit. Mit seinen mehr als 300.000 Einwohnern, weist die Stadt einen

Blumenau is strategically located near major cities in Brazil (São Paulo, Curitiba and Porto Alegre)
and Mercosur (Buenos Aires and Montevideo).
Within 50 km from two harbors (Itajaí and Navegantes) and an international airport, in addition
to the federal highway BR-101, which crosses the
country from North to South. From Blumenau, by
land, you can get to the Coast or to the BR-101 two
ways: a federal highway (BR-470) or a state one
(Jorge Lacerda).

Blumenau liegt strategiesch in dr Nähe der

Im Umkreis von 50 Kilometer befinden sich zwei

Küste und die Bundesstraße BR 101 kann man von
Blumenau aus durch zwei Schnellstraßen - der BR

m relação ao tamanho do município, Blumenau possui
uma das maiores áreas verdes do Brasil. Quase 70% de seu
território é coberto por Mata Atlântica, contando com oito
áreas de conservação municipais (veja tabela). A cidade é cortada pelo Rio Itajaí-Açu. Córregos e ribeirões são encontrados por toda parte, dando origem a recantos maravilhosos,
principalmente em bairros distantes da área central, como a
Nova Rússia.
A fauna foi igualmente privilegiada em Blumenau. Não é
raro, por exemplo, ver capivaras em pleno Centro, expostas
ao sol ou refrescando-se no rio. Dóceis, geralmente ignoram
ou fogem quando da aproximação do homem. A natureza
também privilegiou este cantinho do Brasil com o som de
várias espécies de aves.
A preocupação ambiental sempre fez parte da história do
município. Lar do biólogo e naturalista Fritz Müller, Blumenau foi a primeira cidade do Estado e a segunda do País a criar
um órgão municipal para preservar e avaliar os impactos da
intervenção humana na natureza – a FAEMA.
Preservation and respect for nature
In relation to its size, Blumenau has one of the largest green areas of
Brazil. About 70% of its territory is covered by the Atlantic Forest, And there are eight municipal natural reserves (see table). The town is crossed by
the Itajaí – Açu River. Streams and creeks are found everywhere, creating
wonderful places, especially in distant districts, such as Nova Russia. The
fauna was also privileged in Blumenau. It is not unusual, for example, to
see capybaras sunbathing or refreshing themselves in the river downtown.
Good natured, usually ignore the approaching of people or just get away.
The nature also favored this corner of Brazil with the sound of several species of birds. The environmental matter has always been part of the history
of the council. Home of the biologist and naturalist Fritz Müller, Blumenau
was the first city in the state and the second in the country to create a
municipal organization to preserve and evaluate the impacts of human
intervention in nature – the FAEMA.
Achtung und Schutz der Natur
Im Vergleich zur Größe der Stadt, pflegt Blumenau eine der zahlreichsten Grünflächen des Landes. Beinahe siebzieg Prozent seines Gebiets ist
mit Naturwald bedeckt, sowie auch acht weitere Areale, die unter Naturschutz stehen (siehe Verzeichnis). Die Stadt wird vom Itajaí-Açu-Fluss
durchquetr, neben zahlreichen anderen kleineren Flüssen, die wunderbare
Blickwinkel der Natur zeigen, vor allem etwas außerhal des Stadtzentrums, wie zum Beisliel die Gegend von ”Nova Rússia”. Die Tierwelt ist in
Blumenau sehr reich: Häufig kommt es zum Beispiel vor, dass Wasserschweine sich im Zentrum der Stadt sonnen oder sich im Fluss erfrischen.
Sie nehmen die Menschen nicht wahr oder fliehen, wenn man ihnen zu
nahe kommt. Auch die vielen Vögel und deren Gesang beindruckt den
Naturliebhaber.
Die Sorge um das Thema Umweltschutz war schon immer eng mit der
Geschichte der Stadt verbunden. Hier wurde der Biologe und Naturforscher
Fritz Muller geboren und Blumenau war die erste Stadt im Bundestaat und
die zweite im Land die eine städtische Umweltverwaltung (FAEMA) schuf,
die den Eingriff der Menschen in die Natur erforscht und kontrolliert.
Maior área de conservação de Blumenau, o Parque
Natural Municipal das Nascentes do Garcia está localizado a 23 quilômetros do Centro da cidade. Aberto
ao público, tem 35 quilômetros de trilhas e 25 quilômetros de estradas, além de opções de camping e
hospedagem.
O parque é utilizado como centro de pesquisas,
para a prática de ecoturismo e de educação ambiental. A fauna contempla em torno de 240 espécies de
aves, 65 de mamíferos, 39 de anfíbios, 10 de répteis e
10 de peixes. A floresta, igualmente rica, é formada
por cerca de 360 espécies de árvores e arbustos.
Springs Park
Biggest preservation area of Blumenau, the “Parque
Natural Municipal das Nascentes do Garcia” (Garcia Springs
Park) is located 23 kilometers from downtown. Open to the
public, It has 35 kilometers of trails and 25 kilometers of roads. There are also options for camping and lodging.
The park is also a research, ecotourism and environmental education center. The fauna includes around 240 species
of birds, 65 of mammals, 39 of amphibians, 10 of reptiles
and 10 species of fish. The forest is also rich, formed by

Das grösste Naturschutzgebiet Blumenaus ist der
„Park der Quellen“, „ Parque das Nascentes“ im Stadtteil

Waldpfade und 25 Kilometer Landstraßen laden zum Besuch ein. Außerdem besteht die Möglichkeit dort zu zelten oder in Hütten zu übernachten. Der Park ist auch ein
Forschungszentrum mit Öko-Tourismus und Naturschutzausbildung. Es gibt dort etwa 240 Vogel-, 65 Säugetier-,
39 Amphibien-, 10 Reptil- und 10 Fischarten. Der Wald ist
ebenfalls sehr artenreich, er besteht aus etwa 360 Baumarten und Gebüschen.

Blumenau também tem seu parque central
(Ramiro Ruediger), onde as pessoas podem descansar, caminhar, andar de bicicleta ou apreciar
a beleza do lago. A cidade possui ainda uma série
de praças, como o Biergarten (Jardim da Cerveja),
onde blumenauenses e turistas podem estreitar os
laços do convívio em sociedade.
O município é sede de diversos clubes sociais e
clubes de caça e tiro. Em cidades vizinhas podese desfrutar de hotéis fazenda que dispõem de
comodidade, conforto e lazer para toda a família,
tendo como pano de fundo a exuberante beleza
desta região de Santa Catarina conhecida como
Vale Europeu.

lumenau está localizada em um vale a cerca de 50 quilômetros do Litoral. Além de contar com
uma paisagem belíssima, tendo quase 70% de seu território coberto com áreas verdes, possui
uma gama de opções de lazer que inclui praças, parques, clubes e restaurantes – a gastronomia é
um dos pontos fortes, com especial destaque para a culinária germânica e internacional.
A aproximadamente uma hora de carro está Balneário Camboriú, um dos principais destinos
turísticos do Sul do País e do Mercosul. Por toda a orla há bares e restaurantes com música ao
vivo e ótima culinária, além de atrações como teleférico e o Cristo Luz. Outros municípios litorâneos como Florianópolis, Piçarras, Bombinhas, Itapema e Porto Belo também estão próximos.
Options for the whole family
Blumenau is located in a valley about 50 kilometers from the coast. Besides having a beautiful
landscape, with almost 70% of its territory covered with green areas, it has a range of recreational
options including squares, parks, clubs and restaurants – gastronomy is one of the highlights,
with particular emphasis on German and International cuisine.
At approximately one hour by car is Balneário
Camboriú, a beach which is one of the major
touristic destinations of South Brazil and the
Mercosur. All through the beach line there are
bars and restaurants with live music and good
cooking, in addition to attractions such as the
telpher and the Cristo Luz. Other coastal cities,
such as Piçarras, Penha, Itapema and Porto Belo
also are close.

Ungefähr eine Stunde Autofahrt enfernt
liegt Balneário Camboriú, eine der wichtigsten touristischen Ziele Südbrasiliens und des

Restaurants und Bars mit Live-Musik und guter
Küche. Anziehungspunkte sind die Seilbahn und
die Cristo-Luz-Statue. Weitere Strandstädte wie
Florianópolis, Piçarras, Bombinhas, Itapema
und Porto Belo liegen in der Nähe.
Clube dos grandes eventos sociais
O Tabajara Tênis Clube foi fundado em 1859 com o nome de Blumenauer Schützengesellschaft. O clube sempre abriu suas portas para comemorar com brilho os fatos relevantes da
sociedade blumenauense e de Santa Catarina. Possui completa infra-estrutura esportiva e
para a realização de eventos sociais de grande porte. Dotado de uma beleza impar, rodeado
de área verde, possui piscinas, quadras de tênis, campo de futebol, academia de musculação
e ginástica, entre outras opções para seus associados.
Downtown Park
Blumenau also has a downtown park (Ramiro Ruediger), where people can relax by walking, cycling or
enjoying the beauty of the lake. The city also has plenty
of squares, as the Biergarten (the Beer Garden), where
locals and tourists can strengthen the ties of social life
and friendship.
The city is home of several social clubs and clubs
of hunting and shooting. In nearby towns, such as
Gaspar and Pomerode, you can enjoy farm hotels that
offer comfort and entertainment for the whole family,
against the backdrop of the lush beauty of this region of
Santa Catarina, known as European Valley.
Zentralpark
Im Sttzentrum Blumenaus kann man Park „Ramiro
Rüdiger“ joggen, Fahrrad fahren oder einfach auf den
See schauen. Natürlich hat die die Stadt noch andere
Parks, wie der Bierplatz, wo die Blumenauer und ihre
Besucher sich näher kommen und sich gegenseitig Gesellschaft leisten können.
Die Stadt hat mehrere Klubs und Schützenvereine.
In der nahegelegenen Umgebung kann man Landhotels (Hotéis Fazenda) geniessen, die allen Komfort und
Freizeitmöglichkeiten für die ganze Familie bieten. Sie
liegen in einem wunderschönen Tal, auch das „Europäisches Tal“ genannt.
Club of major social events
The Tabajara Tennis Club was founded in 1859 under the name of Blumenauer Schützengesellschaft
- Verein. The club has always opened its doors to celebrate with brightness the relevant facts of the local
and state society. The club offers a complete infrastructure for sports and social events. Endowed with
matchless beauty, surrounded by green area, it has swimming pools, tennis courts, soccer field, bodybuilding and fitness gymn, among other options for its members.

Der Tabajara Tênis Clube wurde im Jahr 1859 unter den Namen „ Blumenauer Schützengesellschaft“
gegründet. Der Club stand der Blumenauer und Catarinenser Gesellschaft offen, um die großen gesellschaftlichen Ereignisse glanzvoll zu feiern. Er ist ausgestattet mit bester Infrastruktur für Sport- und große
Feste. Umgeben von viel Grün, besitzt er unter anderen Schwimmbäder Tennis- und Fussballplätze,
einen Schießstand, Kegelbahnen und, Fitnesszenter für seine Mitglieder.

universidade

A Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB) foi
criada em 1964 como Faculdade de Ciências Econômicas de Blumenau, tendo sido a primeira unidade
de ensino superior e também, em 1986, a primeira
universidade do interior de Santa Catarina. Hoje, a
FURB conta com 39 cursos de graduação, além de
pós-graduação, mestrado, doutorado, MBAs, cursos
seqüenciais e educação a distância. Promove a pesquisa desde a graduação e sedia importantes eventos, tendo formado mais de 30 mil profissionais ao
longo de sua história.

educação em Blumenau é levada a sério. Em junho de 2007, o município recebeu o selo “Cidade Livre de Analfabetismo”, concedido pelo Ministério da Educação aos municípios brasileiros que apresentam índice menor de 4% de analfabetos entre a população. Segundo dados do IBGE (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e
Estatística), Blumenau tem 2,79% de analfabetos. A média nacional é de 13%.
Além de uma formação escolar de qualidade para os jovens, a cidade também
aposta na prática esportiva como motivação e desenvolvimento de seus alunos.
O resultado pode ser observado em competições juvenis, nas quais Blumenau
sempre figura entre as melhores do Estado.
A cidade também investe pesadamente em cursos técnicos e superiores. Instituições de renome nacional, como Senai e Senac, formam todos os anos técnicos
para atuarem nas empresas, seja na indústria, comércio ou na prestação de serviços. O mesmo ocorre com escolas locais, como Cedup e CTS, que primam pela
excelência no ensino e formação dos jovens.
Entre universidades e faculdades, a cidade conta com sete instituições – FURB,
Uniasselvi, FAE, Cesblu, Ibes, Senai e Senac –, que oferecem variada gama de cursos em todas as áreas do conhecimento. Estudantes de todo o Estado, do Brasil
e até do exterior vêm a Blumenau em busca de uma educação diferenciada, com
laboratórios modernos, salas bem equipadas e uma reconhecida tradição na arte
de ensinar.
Blumenau is free of illiteracy
Education in Blumenau is taken seriously. In June 2007, the city received the attestation of “Free of Illiteracy City”, issued by the Ministry of
Education to Brazilian cities which have a less than 4% illiteracy rate
among the population. According to the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), Blumenau has 2.79% of illiterates. The national
average is 13%.
In addition to a quality education for young people, the city also bets
on sports practice as motivation for the development of the students.
The results can be observed in youth competitions, in which Blumenau is always among the best in the state.
The city also invests heavily in technical courses. Nationally renowned institutions, such as SENAI and SENAC, form every year technicians
to work in industry, commerce or services areas. The same occurs with
local schools, as CEDUP and CTS, excelling in the education and training
of young people.
In higher education, the city has five institutions - FURB, UNIASSELVI, SAF, CESBLU and IBES, offering a wide range of courses in all areas of

and even Foreign Countries come to Blumenau in search of a differentiated education, laboratories with modern, well-equipped rooms and a
recognized tradition in the art of teaching.
Die erste regionale Universität
Die “Universidade Regional de Blumenau“ (FURB) wurde
im Jahr 1964 als Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaft gegründet und war somit im Jahr 1986 die erste Universität im
Inneren des Bundesstaates Santa Catarina. Heute bietet die
FURB 39 Kurse an, außerdem Weiterbildungskurse für den
Master und Doktor, MBAs, und Fernkurse. Die Forschung
wird ebenfalls gefördert. Darüber hinaus finden wichtige
Veranstaltungen in der FURB statt. Schon über 30.000 Fachleute wurden in dieser Universität bereits ausgebildet.
Blumenau - “ Stadt ohne Analphabetismus”
Ausbildung wird in Blumenau ernst genommen. Im Juni 2007 erhielt
die Stadt das Zertifikat “Stadt ohne Analphabetismus” vom Bildungsministerium, das die Städte mit weniger als 4%-tiger Analphabetenrate
bekommen. Laut IBGE( Statistikinstitut) sind in Blumenau nur 2,79%
der Bevölkerung Analphabeten. Der brasilianische Durchschnitt liegt
bei 13%.
Außer der guten Ausbildung der Jugend, setzt die Stadt auch auf den
Sport als einen Weg zur Weiterentwicklung der jungen Leute. Das Resultat ist bei den jugendlichen Sportwettbewerben sichtbar: Blumenau
steht hier immer an erster Stelle im Bundesstaat Santa Catarina.
Blumenau investiert auch stark in Fachausbildung und Hochschulen.
Nationalbekannte Anstalten wie Senai und Senac, bilden jährlich Techniker aus, die in den Unternehmen arbeiten können: Lehranstalten wie
CEDUP und CTS, zeichnen sich ebenfalls mit ihrer vortrefflichen Schulund Fachbildung aus.

Dentre os três grandes hospitais da cidade, o

Antônio, Santa Isabel e Santa Catarina). There are health centers in several specialties and laboratories equipped to conduct
examinations of high complexity. In Blumenau, 60% of the population is covered by the Family Health Program, which, among

Organe zu entnehmen. Die Stadt wartet auf das noch im Bau befindliche Universitätskrankenhaus, das der FURB angebunden
ist. So erweitert es Möglichkeiten Fachkräfte im Gesundheitswesen auszubilden und erhöht die Behandlungskapazität der
Bevökerung der Region.

Vivid Cultural Life
The cultural life of Blumenau is intense. Besides the shows promoted by Carlos Gomes Theater, which dates from 1939 (see Features), the Cultural Foundation of Blumenau promotes a number of festivals throughout the year, as a way to stimulate the city’s cultural development. This
concern with the arts came with the German settlers who created the first theatrical groups.
Currently, Blumenau hosts four major events: National Folk Dance Festival, National Children’s
Theater Festival (Fenatib), Multicultural Festival and the Winter, Showcase of Amateur Talents.

von den deutschen Einwanderern, die bald nach Ankunft im Lande ihre ersten Theatergruppen
gründeten. In Blumenau finden auch große Veranstaltungen im Kulturbereich statt, wie zum
Beispiel das Nationale Festival der Volkstänze, Nationales Festival des Kindertheaters, Multikulturelles Winterfestival, Studententheaterfestival, Studentengesangfestival, „Kunst und Kultur“
nebst den Vorstellungen der Amateurgruppen.
Andererseits gibt es auch eine gute Struktur zur Erhaltung des historischen Erbes, darin sind
das historische Archiv, die Stadtbibliothek und Museen mit verschiedenen Beständen eingeschlossen. Die “Fundação Cultural“ verfügt außerdem über Räumlichkeiten für Kunstausstellungen.
In Blumenau wird das Lesen sehr gefördert. Zum Beispiel das Projekt “Tauschen Sie Müll
gegen Bücher” und “Mobile Bibliothek” spornen die Gewohnheit des Lesens, besonders unter

Vila Germânica, o maior centro de eventos
de Santa Catarina, com três setores amplos
e climatizados, restaurante típico alemão,

Most Important Latin American Textile Fair
Texfair do Brazil is the most important textile fair in Latin America, having completed eight editions
in 2007. The fair gathers the main brands in the segments of confection, clothing, bed, table, bath
and decoration, offering thousands of buyer guests the latest trends and innovative products. The fair
receives buyers from various parts of the country and from abroad. In 2008, the Texfair will be held
from May 27 to 30, in Parque Vila Germânica.
The advent of Texfair, a pioneer initiative of local entrepreneurs, has contributed to the solidification
of other fairs related to the industry. This is the case of Fematex (International Fair of Materials for
the Textile Industry and Confection), which in 2008 will be from March 25 to 28, also in Parque Vila
Germânica. Fematex presents trends, technologies and materials that contribute to the creation of
fashion and confection.
In recent years, Blumenau has been diversifying and capturing events linked to the most varied
sectors such as real estate, tourism, sports and technology. Therefore, in addition to improving the
places where such events are held, a range of services, from hotels and restaurants to transportation,
has been fitting to this new reality.
Die grösste lateinamerikanische Textilmesse
Die „Texfair do Brasil“ ist die wichtigste Textilmesse in Lateinamerika
und fand im Jahr 2007 zum achten Mal statt. Im „Parque Vila Germânica“
werden die bedeutensten Kleidungs-, Bettwäsche-, Bad-, Tisch- und Dekorationswaren ausgestellt, um sie geladenen Kunden aus In- und Ausland
anzubieten.
Die „Texfair“, ist eine Pionierinitiative mehrerer Blumenauer Unternehmer und trug zur Festigung anderer Messen der Textilbranche bei. So zum
Beispiel der „Fematex“ – Internationale Messe von Textilmaterialien für die
Textil- und Kleidungsindustrie, die auch in der“ Vila Germânica“ stattfindet.
In den letzten Jahren diversifizierte Blumenau seine Messen und Kongresse auf verschiedene anderen Branchen wie Möbel, Tourismus, Sport
und Technologien. Dazu mussten dann auch die Einrichtungen, in denen
die Veranstaltungen stattfinden, verbessert werden und Hotels, Restaurants und Transport müssen sich auch der neuen Realität anpassen.

at Information Technology for immediate or subsequent placement at information technology enterprises in the city and region. In 2006, the first 200 youngsters have been
given 360 hours of training on the course and, in 2007, a new group was formed by the
program.

um raio de 50 quilômetros de Blumenau, em direção ao Litoral, há dois portos, um aeroporto internacional e uma rodovia federal – a BR-101 –, que corta
o Brasil de Norte a Sul. Essa infra-estrutura permite às
empresas instaladas na cidade um rápido escoamento
da produção, tanto para outras cidades e estados do País
como para o exterior. Já a ligação rodoviária até a BR-101,
portos e aeroporto é feita pela BR-470 (federal) e a Jorge
Lacerda (estadual).
O Porto de Itajaí tem mais de 15 mil metros quadrados de área coberta para estocagem de produtos e 38
mil metros quadrados de área descoberta para armazenagem de contêineres. Os clientes têm à disposição, a
qualquer momento, mais de 70 equipamentos, entre 1 e
37 toneladas de capacidade, para auxílio na carga e descarga, seguindo padrões internacionais de segurança. As
unidades operacionais são totalmente informatizadas.
Cidade vizinha a Itajaí, Navegantes também possui
um porto, que recebeu em outubro de 2007 autorização
da Receita Federal para operar. Somente na primeira
etapa de construção o investimento chegou a quase R$
360 milhões e, até 2011, deverá atingir R$ 423 milhões. O
porto tem quatro berços para atracação e 900 metros
de cais.
Ainda em Navegantes encontra-se um dos dois aeroportos internacionais de Santa Catarina (o outro está em
Florianópolis). A internacionalização do aeroporto, em
novembro de 2004, atendeu ao pedido do trade turístico
e a capacidade subiu para 600 mil passageiros ao ano.

Within 50 kilometers from Blumenau, toward the coast, there are two ports, an international airport and a

Autostrassen (BR 470 und „Jorge Lacerda“) erreicht man die Bundesstraße BR 101 und beide Häfen.
Der Hafen Itajaí bietet über 15.000 Quadratmeter große Hallen, die zur Lagerung der Waren dienen und
38.000 Quadratmeter unbedeckter Fläche für die Lagerung der Container. Den Kunden werden zu jeder Zeit
über siebzig Kräne mit einer Hebekapazität zwischen einer und siebenunddreissig Tonnen – den internationalen Sicherheitsmaßnahmen entsprechend - zur Verfügung gestellt, um das Auf- und Abladen zu erleichtern.
Navegantes, Itajais Nachbarstadt, hat auch einen Flußhafen, der im Oktober 2007 die Operationsgenehmigung vom Bundeszollamt bekam. Nur die erste Etappe seiner Ausrüstung bedurfte Investitionen von
beinahe 360 Millionen Reais. Bis 2011 sollen insgesamt 423 Millionen investiert werden. Der Hafen hat vier Anlegeplätze und neunhundert Meter Kai. In Navegantes ist auch einer der internationalen Flughäfen von Santa
Catarina (der andere ist in Florianopolis). Die Internationalisierung des Flughafens im November 2004, kam
dem Antrag des Tourismus-Trades entgegen und seine Kapazität stieg auf 600 tausend Passagiere im Jahr.

Blumenau contará com um aeroporto regional de passageiros que, segundo estudos, também poderá ser especializado no transporte de mercadorias. Um acordo feito entre os governos

de aviões de pequeno porte.

PRODEC:
O Programa de Desenvolvimento da Empresa Catarinense (Prodec) tem como finalidade conceder incentivos à implantação ou expansão de
empreendimentos industriais que vierem a produzir e gerar emprego e renda em Santa Catarina.
Trata-se de incentivo, a título de financiamento, equivalente a um percentual pré-determinado sobre o valor do Imposto sobre Circulação de
Mercadorias e Serviços (ICMS) a ser gerado pelo novo projeto.
O incentivo do Prodec nada mais é do que financiamento de capital de giro, a longo prazo e de baixíssimo custo.
Santa Catarina também concede incentivos à indústria produtiva de bens e serviços de informática, com base no Decreto Estadual nº 2.024, de
25 de junho de 2004.

lumenau é um importante pólo brasileiro de
softwares. A cidade possui mais de 670 empresas neste segmento. Essa vocação, no entanto, não é de hoje, mas teve início em 1969, quando
empresários do setor têxtil criaram o Cetil (Centro
Eletrônico da Indústria Têxtil) – a primeira empresa de informática de Santa Catarina.
Em termos de apoio, atualmente o município
conta com o Blusoft (Blumenau Pólo Tecnológico
de Informática), uma entidade que promove, com
auxílio da Prefeitura e de instituições privadas, o
desenvolvimento das empresas do setor. O Blusoft já viabilizou diversas atividades em benefício
do segmento de softwares.
Por outro lado, um grupo de professores da
Universidade Regional de Blumenau criou o Instituto Gene, que atua em quatro grandes áreas:
incubação e empreendedorismo, transferência de
tecnologia, capacitação e desenvolvimento e responsabilidade social.
Uma parceria entre a Prefeitura e o Governo do
Estado está viabilizando a criação de um Parque
Tecnológico, no Distrito do Garcia, que terá incubadora e centro de inclusão digital. Entre outros
benefícios, serão 18 salas para apoio à criação de
novas empresas – uma delas destinada a projetos
voltados a portadores de deficiência física. A expectativa é gerar 2 mil empregos.

Nationally renowned software development center
Blumenau is an important pole of Brazilian software. This vocation began in 1969, when entrepreneurs of the textile
industry created the Cetil Center (Electronic Textile Industry), the first company of informatics of Santa Catarina, based
in Blumenau. In the 80’s, the Cetil won the competition to make the first reassessment of foreigners in Brazil, having
become the first company in the country to use a laser printer for that purpose.
In 1992 came the Blusoft (Blumenau Pole of Computer Technology), a body that promotes, with support from City
Hall, the development of the industry. The institution has already enabled activities that handled more than $ 15 million
to benefit the industry of software. In 2002, a group of Professors at the University of Blumenau created the Gene
Institute, which operates in four major areas: incubation and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, training and development and social responsibility.
A partnership between the city and state governments is allowing the creation of a Technological Park in the District
of Garcia, which will be incubator and center of digital inclusion. Among other benefits, there will be 18 rooms to support the creation of new companies - one for projects designed to the disabled. The expectation is to create 2 thousand
jobs by 2008.

Eine Kooperation zwischen Stadtverwaltung und bundesstaatliche Regierung ermöglicht die Schaffung eines Technologie Parks im Stadtteil Garcia. Inkubation und digitaler Einschluss sollen damit ermöglicht werden. Unter anderen
werden achtzehn Räume zur Unterstützung neuer Unternehmen zur Verfügung gestellt – ein Raum davon für Projekte
zur Förderung von körperlich Behinderten. Erwartet wird, dass so zwei tausend neue Arbeitsplätze geschaffen werden.

Foreign Companies choose Blumenau
The opportunities that Blumenau, Santa Catarina offers to the domestic and foreign investors have generated
fruits. In recent years, the city has received investments from companies like the Korean Huvis-maker of polyester
yarns, and the German T-Systems (the tech sector) and Altendorf. Other foreign companies have also shown interest in Blumenau. This is the case of Italian group En El, which confirmed in the end of October the installation
of a factory in the city. The group is present in 26 countries and produces lasers for industrial cutting, medical and
esthetic uses.
Research conducted by the United Nations pointed Brazil as the fifth preferred destination for investment in the
world in the next three years. The UN heard about 200 multinationals during the survey. The Country is in sight of
multinationals and Blumenau shows what Brazil has at the best.
