
DR3 is casting for a show in which four participants are challenged to live for thirty days
with no material possessions. The casting call states that contestants have their items
stored in a container and are allowed to retrieve one item per day.

On Air in Finland:

Kingi premiered on MTV3 on Saturday 10 January 2015. The 90’ musical comedy show
focuses on a fictional singing competition, with contestants auditioning for the show
and competing to progress as far as possible. The first episode aired to 1.13m viewers.

In Development in France:

M6 is to make a local version of Saturday Night Takeaway. Guillaume Pley and Jerome
Anthony will present each 110’ episode, with the series to debut in early 2015. The local
version, titled Tout Peut Arriver, will be produced by ITV Studios France. Distributed by

On Air in Germany 12 – 18 January 2015:

RTLII launched docuseries Melanie Müller – Dschungelkönigin in Love (Melanie Müller
– Jungle Queen in Love) on 12 January 2015. The four-part series follows the
professional and personal life of Melanie Müller, a former contestant on The
Bachelorette and the current champion of the local version of I’m A Celebrity…. The first
episode of the series aired to a somewhat disappointing 1.05m viewers and 4.8% share
with adults A14-49. Produced by 99pro Media.

The first episode of the new series of sitcom Der Lehrer (The Teacher) rated well for RTL,
with 1.64m viewers and a 14.8% share with adults A14-49. The programme was the
most-viewed show of the day with this demographic. Hendrik Duryn plays teacher
Stefan Vollmer, who returns to the profession after ten years. Produced by Sony
Pictures Television.

Long-running medical drama Der Bergdoktor rates well for ZDF, with 5.29m viewers and
a 20.5% share with viewers A3 and over. The series centres round a surgeon who
returns to his native village after working in Munich, Paris and New York. Produced by

Neue Deutsche Filmgesellschaft.

Pro7 aired Jahresvorausblick 2015 (Pro7 Annual Review 2015) in the same slot as Der
Bergdoktor and Der Lehrer. The programme did not rate particularly well, with 1.2m
viewers A3 and over. Produced by Weber & Behn.

A rejuvenated local version of Deal or No Deal aired on Sat1, achieving 2.1m viewers A3
and over. The show gained 770, 000 viewers and a 7.0% share with adults A14-49.

Medical drama Betty’s Diagnose premiered well for ZDF, with 4.73m viewers and a
15.8% share with viewers A3 and over. German Comedy Award winner Bettina
Lamprecht stars as Betty, an outspoken nurse working in a busy hospital. Despite her
lack of seniority, Betty is determined to do what she feels is best for her patients, even if
it means butting heads with the hospital’s lumbering bureaucracy. The 12 x 45’ series is
produced by Network Movie, Film and Television Production. Distributed by ZDF
Enterprises.

Coming Soon in Germany:

Sat.1 premieres Newtopia, the local version of Utopia, on 23 February 2015. A group of
fifteen people are given a bare piece of land and must build a new community,

constructing new homes, rearing livestock and finding ways to feed themselves. There
are no beds or sanitary facilities. Produced by Talpa Germany. Distributed by Talpa.

A local version of Israeli cooking show Game of Chefs will air on VOX from 24 February
2015. Three world-renowned chefs taste the dishes of hundreds of amateurs. Each
head chef selects the contestants they want to join their team. If a contestant is chosen
by more than one chef, the power shifts to them and they choose which team they wish
to join. The three head chefs lead their teams through a series of culinary battles where
they must cater for tricky clients. The twelve-part series is produced by ITV Studios
Global and Constantin Entertainment. Distributed by ITVSGE.
In Development in Germany:

Tannbach rated well for ZDF; as a consequence, the channel is now considering a
sequel. Over 6m viewers watched the three-part series, which centres on a divided
village. Produced by Wiedemann & Berg Television GmbH.

New episodes of ZDF’s Das Traumschiff, the German version of The Love Boat, will be
filmed from February 2015 onwards, with a new series to air during Christmas 2015 and

In Development in Hungary:

RTL Klub will make a local version of Dutch format Divorce, which follows three male
friends who are all separating from their partners. Distributed by Talpa.
The third series is currently airing in the Netherlands and a German remake is also
currently airing.


The Million Euro Challenge launched on RTÉ on Saturday 10 January 2015 at 8pm, as

second with a 29.0 TVR on 10 January and a 28.6 TVR on 7 January.

Rising Star takes third and fourth place for Keshet, with a 25.8 TVR on 4 January and a
24.6 TVR on 6 January.

Anything Goes and The News Room continue to perform steadily for Reshet.

After eight seasons on Reshet, The State of the Nation is moving to Channel 10.

On Air in Italy:

The first episode of mini-series Ragion di Stato (Reason of State) premiered on Monday
12 January 2015 to 3.41m viewers and a 12.34% share. The second episode, shown on
Tuesday 13 January, gained 3.67m viewers and a 13.63% share.
The two-part series relates the story of Captain Rosso and the Secret Italian Services

AISE, who become involved in a conflict in Afghanistan. Alongside the conflict, Russo
becomes involved with the wife of a trafficker. Produced by Cattleya and Rai Fiction.
The first episode had strong competition, airing in the same slot as Canale 5’s popular
variety show Scherzi a Parte, which aired to 6.48m viewers and a 26.97% share.


Den Fjärde Mannen (The Fourth Man) premiered on 30 December 2014 on SVT1 and
placed third in the weekly ratings chart. The 3 x 60’ series is based on Leif GW Persson’s
novel ‘Another Time, Another Life.’ The series alternates between different time
periods, with the occupation of an embassy in 1975 and a murder which takes place in
1989 forming the main storylines. Rolf Lassgård plays the newly-appointed head of the
Security Service, with Helena af Sandberg also starring. Produced by SVT, DR and YLE.
Den Fjärde Mannen – SVT1

A second series of Send in the Clowns debuts 22 January 2015 on Kanal 5 in a primetime
slot. In the seven-part series, seven comedians spend seven days together and learn
more about each other’s lives. In each episode, one person is designated King or Queen

for the day and has the power to choose the day's activities and meals, whilst archive
footage offers an insight into the comedian's work. Produced by FLX. Distributed by Elk
Entertainment.

discover what members of the public see as normal. Produced by FLX. Distributed by

The series ended on 16 December 2014 and performed well. Following the premiere,
the next seven episodes achieved an average audience of approximately 270, 000
viewers, above slot average.
