Need to know if he's a bad egg? WomanSavers.com may know.
Unearthing a potential mate's cheating, thieving, maybe even psychotic ways during
the early stages of courtship has always been tricky business. But it is particularly
difficult today, when millions are searching for dates online and finding it far easier to
lie to a computer than to someone's face.
But the Internet is now offering up an antidote. Web sites like WomanSavers.com
are dedicated to outing bad apples or just identifying people who may not be rotten
but whose dating profiles are rife with fiction.
While many women find the Web sites amusing and sometimes helpful, they have
enraged men, guilty or not, some of whom send e-mail messages or call the posted
phone numbers to have their names and photographs taken down. They argue that
the Web sites are biased and damaging, particularly if the story being told is false.
And while the women remain anonymous, the men are offered up in full detail.
WomanSavers.com which features a drawing of a woman dressed in red, carrying
. a pitchfork and sprouting tiny horns, has a questionnaire that generates a rating of a
man as good or bad from zero to 122; most men end up in the muddled middle. The
multiple-choice questionnaire allows women to check off descriptive statements
ranging from "stinks, has body odor, bad breath and doesn't care" to "He has the
perfect balance of humility and confidence."
The site can warn a woman that the purported 6-foot-4 Wall Street stockbroker with
bulging pectorals is really a baldish, 5-foot-10 Wall Street Journal delivery man with
man breasts. Users post the nickname that the person in question uses on an online
dating service like Match.com, and warn that the posted profile is misleading. A click
of the mouse can send the curious to the person's profile page.
Roberta Lipman of New York, an artist and real estate agent, does dating due
diligence on TrueDater.com. Reading profiles on sites like Match.com is like reading
code, she said. Take the word "separated" as a description of marital status. See it
and run, she said.

Now instead of plotting revenge with your closest girlfriend, you can visit http://
www.womansavers.com and tell thousands of people how he cheated on you with
your best friend, dumped you after sex, didn't give you a thing for Valentine's Day,
missed your birthday, or berated you.
"A lot of women who have been abused or cheated on are angry," says Steffi
Alexander, also known as Little Miss WomanSaver.
She created the Web site in 2002 after a bad breakup. "They come to the site, they
vent and complain. It prevents them from doing things that could be a lot worse."
WomanSavers.com has a free database that allows women to rate men they have
dated in categories such as fidelity and verbal, emotional and physical abuse. A
comments section allows them to explain -- because, let's face it, why would
anyone visit this site if she didn't need to vent?
So far, the database has 12,000 names, complete with birth date and hometown.
Postings are anonymous, which seems a little unfair, but women do have the option
to leave their name. However, many do not because they have been abused and
fear for their safety. The men listed are free to post a rebuttal to tell their side of the
story.
"I think this is going to make a difference," says Alexander, a single woman in her
30s, who splits her time between New York and Scottsdale, Ariz. "It might improve
men's behavior. If they get caught, it may prevent potential future abuse of a
woman. If it saves a handful of women from getting hurt by a man, it's all
worthwhile."
"I built this Web site to help women," she says. "The dating world is treacherous.
There is so much lying, deceit, cheating and abuse going on."
Despite the horror stories, she still has hope that good men are out there. She has
managed to avoid more abusive relationships.

The Truth Will Set You Free, January 2007
Lis Wiehl
Anyone who has ever dated has a bad relationship story: he is a liar; she
was cheating with my best friend; I found out he is married; and it goes on
and on.
Now, with explosion of blogs, online message boards and personal
websites, bitter exes can share all their horrible stories with the world. One
website, womansavers.com provides an outlet for women to vent about
their relationships and post warnings about certain men. The statements,
typically provided by the wronged ex-girlfriend, range from insults to
scandalous accusations.
Consider the following message, which appears complete with this guy’s
name and picture, from the womansavers.com website: "This guy is totally
gross and disgusting. He lives in a trailer next to his mommy (who had sex
with him and they have a kid too, gross!). He's got 2 kids, but only is
interested in his most recent one because she's a girl (and this guy is a
pervert!!!). He is a child molester but he hasn't been caught. He got in
trouble with a 14 -year-old girl but the judge just gave him probation."
Sounds a little too sensational to be true, right? It’s possible that many
people reading this post would laugh it off, or not think twice about the
serious accusations of incest and child molestation. After all, these antidating websites are more common than you would think, and account for
just a portion of the interactive messaging websites out there. Then, there
are numerous celebrity gossip blogs that post speculation or could-be-true
stories about this moment’s "it" celebrity.
Congress has stepped in to regulate this increasingly litigious area by
passing the Communications Decency Act, which protects host Web sites,
like AOL and MySpace, from liability from statements made by third parties
that post on their sites. So that leaves people who believe they have been
libeled to search out the statements made by the original author — but
that’s tough to do on sites that allow anonymous posts.
The Internet, with its continuous evolution, has made filing defamation
lawsuits much more difficult to bring. Difficult, but not impossible, as the
Brock ruling from Florida showed. So, if you are going to post a comment on
places like baddrivers.com or "don’t date him" websites, make sure that it is
either clearly your opinion or can be verified as fact. If nothing else, ask
yourself if you have $11.3 million extra to pay for a defamation lawsuit
before signing online.

TRUTH SQUAD: MEN LIE MORE THAN WOMEN?
Eric Frazier, Jan 17, 2006
Women say it so often it has become a cornerstone of female dating wisdom,
passed on from sorority house to sewing circle:
Men are liars. Or, if the speaker is in a kindly mood, she might add: Most are,
anyway. Hard-nosed 21st-century journalist that I am, I went to google.com in
search of the truth.
I typed in "lying men" and found angry, disgusted, disillusioned women who
are sick of being deceived. High on the list of sites was WomanSavers.com,
which bills itself as the world's largest Internet database that ranks individual
men. It promises to help women avoid wasting time with "cheating men, lying
men, abusive men or just plain ... " well, you get the picture.
"We don't hate all men," says site founder Stephany Alexander, "just the
jerks."
It offers women the Holy Grail of man-examination: a chance to hear from his
exes. Women send in their ratings of ex-husbands and boyfriends on
everything from infidelity and abusive behavior to hygiene and manners. Nice
guys finish first, the site says. But considering the site's blood-red background
and picture of a she-devil with pitchfork and bullwhip, I'm not sure nice guys
want to finish first here.
On dating sites, women repeatedly declare in their profiles that fork-tongued
"players" shouldn't even bother. The ones who are really steamed start typing
in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS when they touch this third rail of a topic. You'd
think there was an epidemic or something.
Amy Sohn, a writer for New York magazine, said as much last year, blaming
Internet dating and the ready availability of casual sex for the fib-fest she sees
unfolding in the Big Apple. Men, she suggested, see women as disposable
dates and feel no compunction about lying to one as they trot on to the next.
Heidi Muller, a relationship correspondent at AskMen.com, calls lying the
favorite pastime of men. The only men who don't, she added, are either gay,
sincerely religious, "or have had their tongue removed."
There were some differences, though. When women lied to other women, it
was usually what she called kind-hearted lies, like "You look great in that
dress" or "Your casserole was fantastic." When men lied to other men, it was
usually a more self-serving lie, say, fibbing about their golf handicap. But she
didn't see any clear gender-based distinction when she studied lies men told
women and lies women told men. . So why do so many women believe so
strongly that men simply can't tell the truth?
"Maybe the lies the men tell to them are the ones they notice," DePaulo said.
"They're the ones that matter."
“WomanSavers.com may have the ability to change men's behavior
worldwide by making them more accountable for their actions.”
--Patrick Byrne, Owner, Overstock.com
Q. Why did you create Womansavers.com?
Q. How does WomanSavers make money?
A. Like many women, I survived abuse both as a child and an adult and decided it
was time to stop living with the pain and start doing something to prevent further
abuse for others. I created WomanSavers.com in 2002 after a painful breakup. I
wanted to use the internet to help women avoid abusive and painful relationship.
A. WomanSavers makes money through advertising. We have been fortunate to have
attracted major advertisers such as LionsGate Motion Pictures, Beauty.com and
Overstock.com. It’s free to post and there is a minimal processing fee to edit or delete
a post. A percentage of proceeds are donated to abused women and children's
charities.
Q. How popular is the site for woman to post about cheaters?
Q. Should single women be checking up on their guy? What happened to trust?
A. WomanSavers.com is a popular place to post lying, cheating and abusive men.
There are over 30,000 men listed, making it the largest database of its kind in the
world. And not all posts are negative. Many times women will brag about their
partners. Plus, men frequently post themselves. However, when a man posts
himself it’s usually obvious because he often goes on about how great in bed he is!
Women rarely post about a man's sexual skills but rather about infidelity, lying and
abuse.
The site has become so popular I created a similar site called
Rateb4udate.com where both men and women can be listed to help promote safer
dating worldwide. Both websites are like a credit bureau for dating.
Q. What is “cyber cheating” and how does it affect relationships?
A. Cyber cheating is emotional cheating that usually ends up leading to physical
infidelity. In addition, addiction to pornography has become a huge problem,
especially when a man chooses to surf porn instead of spending time with his reallife partner. One of our lady members was so frustrated over her husband’s
pornography addiction that she placed his computer screen on his pillow and told
him to sleep with it from then on.
Q. What are some of the most destructive websites for relationships?
A. There are so many sites out there for hooking up single and married people, such
as affairmatch.com and meet2cheat.com. Womansavers tries to balance out the
evil with some good. These affair sites are destructive and encourage people to
cheat. Ashleymadison.com, one of the largest, advertises the slogan "when
monogamy becomes monotony." These sites are also some of reason why I created
WomanSavers.com.
A. For single women dating today, I recommend a background check and a search
through the WomanSavers Rate-A-Guy Database. In a world of murderers, thieves,
child molesters and con-artists, it’s important that people protect themselves. We do
a credit check before lending money, or inspect our homes and cars before
purchasing, why wouldn’t we do the same for personal relationships where so much
more is at stake? 57% of all rapes happen on dates.* Women, especially single
mothers, are vulnerable in the online world where dangerous men can easily hide
behind aliases. 82% of all child sex abuse is committed by men in a relationship with
the mother.* The typical child sex offender molests an average of 117 children, most
of whom do not report the offense.*
(*source: Monterey Rape Crisis Center
www.mtryrapecrisis.org/statistics) A little information before it’s too late can prevent a
lot of abuse.
Q. What advice would you offer a woman who thinks she's being cheated on?
A. Many women make the biggest mistake by accusing their partner of cheating
without having solid evidence because they are thinking with their emotions. If their
partner is actually cheating, they usually don't admit it and then cover their tracks
better next time. It is then that women begin questioning their sanity and intuition. In
my years as a relationship expert, I have found that a woman's gut instinct is usually
correct. WomanSavers.com is famous for teaching women tricks on how to catch a
cheater and there is an entire section dedicated to that. Once a woman has proof her
partner has been cheating, she must decide whether to give her partner another
chance or whether to leave him. If a woman's partner is a chronic cheater, I
recommend her leaving for the sake of her personal physical health and self esteem.
