Willkommen in Münster!
Münster ist eine der allerersten Adressen, wenn es darum
geht, den Ort für einen Kongress, eine Tagung oder eine Messe
auszuwählen. Denn nicht allein die Räumlichkeiten entscheiden
über den Erfolg einer Veranstaltung. Mindestens ebenso wichtig

Bereits 1648 machte sich Münster europaweit einen Namen als
„Kongress-Standort“. 150 Gesandtschaften aus ganz Europa waren mit ihrem Gefolge zu Gast, um über das Ende des
Dreißigjährigen Krieges zu verhandeln. Vier Jahre lang musste
Münster damals neben den 10.000 Einwohnern fast noch einmal so viele Gäste standesgemäß unterbringen und versorgen.
Eine Höchstleistung, zumal in Kriegszeiten. Doch die Mühe hat
sich gelohnt: Im Rathaus zu Münster wurde der Westfälische
Frieden besiegelt.
Heute ist Münster eine junge und moderne Großstadt mit
280.000 Einwohnern, darunter rund 55.000 Studentinnen und
Studenten, ein innovativer und starker Wirtschaftsstandort, eine
Stadt der Wissenschaft und Lebensart. Doch seiner Tradition ist
Münster treu geblieben. Noch immer bietet die weltoffene und
gastfreundliche Stadt beste Voraussetzungen dafür, auch Ihre

Welcome to Münster!
Münster is one of the very first addresses when it comes to
choosing the location for a congress, a conference, or a trade
show. After all, it is not just the premises which decide on the
success of an event. Of equal importance is the atmosphere of
the city, its leisure value and its convenient connection with the
infrastructure. And Münster has much to offer in this respect:
as a university town and a Hanseatic City, as the bicycle capital
of germany , as home to the Peace of Westphalia, and as one of
the member cities of the “Historic Highlights of Germany“.
It was in 1648 when Münster already created a name for itself
as a “congress location”. 150 legations from the whole of Europe, including their entourage came to negotiate the end of the
Thirty Years’ War. For four years, Münster had to accommodate
and cater for its then 10.000 inhabitants, plus an almost equal
number of visitors. A supreme achievement, especially in times
of war. But the effort proved worthwhile: the Peace of Westphalia was signed and sealed at Münster’s Town Hall.
Today, Münster is a young and modern city with 280.000
inhabitants, including some 55.000 students, an innovative and
strong economic location, a city of science and savoir vivre.
Still, it has remained faithful to its tradition. This hospitable city,
open to the world, holds nothing but the best to ensure the success of your event – with much dedication and a package full of
history, culture, atmosphere, scenery, and culinary delicacies.

und große Designer-Namen sind hier zu finden. In der Fußgängerzone und den angrenzenden Straßen laden Modegeschäfte

room concept is well thought-through — for the efficient planning and the smooth flow of all events.
All rooms, excluding Rote Saal and TOP-Congress, are at ground
level. Empore and Rote Saal can be reached by elevator, which

Hiltrup Civic Hall
Hiltrup’s civic hall lies in the centre of this very district. Only
some nine kilometres away from Münster’s town hall, it offers
a flexible range of rooms, qualified personnel, fine food and
well-situated traffic connections. In brief: it is ideally appointed
for successful congresses, conferences, lectures, concerts,
seminars, workshops, exhibitions and much more.
The different rooms are of flexible structure and can be combined with one another: a hall featuring a dance floor and stage (8
x 13 m, 9 backdrops), the upper foyer, a meeting hall that can
be partitioned into individual sections, and eight seminar rooms.
The latest in conference technology, including a lighting and
PR unit are additional features. “Haus Meinolf” is the in-house
restaurant.
The Hiltrup civic hall is easy to reach via the Münster South
motorway interchange (A1/A43), by rail (from Münster central
railway station to Hiltrup central station) and by bus routes 1, 5

At Westfälische Wilhelms University alone, one of Germany’s
largest scientific universities, some 44,000 students have
enrolled. With its 4,600 staff – including almost 3,000 scientists – the university is one of the region’s major employers.
Moreover, it provides an extraordinary variety of courses – from
Egyptology to dentistry.
For scientific events ranging from a workshop to an international congress, the university holds the right spectrum of
conference premises and auditoriums with up to 800 seats – in
the baroque castle, in the modern auditorium building, or with a

The University’s head office, i.e. the castle is ideal for plenary
events including study groups. The inside features four auditoriums, several conference rooms and the representative great

The auditorium building at Hindenburgplatz and its four lecture

How to reach Münster
Mit dem Auto: BAB A1/E3 (Hansalinie) mit den Anschlüssen
Münster-Süd, Münster-Nord und über die BAB A43 (WuppertalMünster).
By car: BAB A1/E3 (Hansa route) with the intersections Münster-South, Münster-North and via BAB A43 (Wuppertal-Münster)
Mit der Bahn: Zahlreiche Züge vom Regionalexpress bis Intercity
Express fahren den zentral gelegenen Hauptbahnhof an, Anschluss an das ICE-Netz ab Hamm. Taxis und Busse fahren an
der Bahnhofsvorder- bzw. -rückseite ab.
Mit dem Flugzeug: Der internationale Flughafen Münster/
Osnabrück FMO in Greven (ca. 20 km nördlich von Münster) wird von Linienmaschinen aus fast allen deutschen und
europäischen Flughäfen, z.B. London, Rom und Wien sowie von
Charter- und Privatmaschinen angeflogen. Weitere Anreisealternativen bieten der Flughafen Dortmund, ca. 60 km südlich von
Münster, und der internationale Flughafen in Düsseldorf (ca.
120 km südlich von Münster). Besitzer eines Sportflugsscheins
können auch auf dem Flugplatz Telgte (8 km von Münster)
landen.

By rail: Many trains from regional express to Intercity Express
services arrive at and depart from the centrally located railway
station; there is a connection with the ICE service from Hamm.
Taxis and buses depart from the station’s front and rear entrances.
By plane: The FMO Münster/Osnabrück International Airport in
Greven (approx. 20 km to the north of Münster) is a destination
for scheduled flights from most German and European airports
such as London, Rome and Vienna, as well as for charter and
private jets. An alternative route is Dortmund Airport, approx.
60 km south of Münster, and Düsseldorf International Airport
(approx. 120 km south of Münster). Holders of a sports aviation
license can also land at Telgte Airport (8 km from Münster).
