Das bedeutendste Kulturereignis der Stadt ist

Das Weinfest beginnt mit einem Gottesdienst in der
Kirche des Franziskanerklosters. An die heilige Messe
knüpft die Öffnung des ‚Berges‘ im Weingut des hl.
Wenzel an. Die Besucher können dabei eine
Ausstellung besuchen, die dem Weinanbau um Kadaň
gewidmet ist, dabei bekommen sie die Weingärten
und die Verarbeitung der Trauben – das Mahlen,
Abbeeren, Maischen und Pressen zu sehen und
können auch gleich noch den Heurigen, frischen
Weinmost und Wein verkosten.

at St. Wenceslas Vineyard. Visitors can see an
exhibition focused on wine making in the area of
Kadaň, visit the gardens and see how grapes are
made into must for fermentation. They can also
taste fresh grape juice, this year’s “burčák”
(fermenting grape juice) and, of course, the local
wines.

The Advent fair culminates with the lighting of the
Christmas tree, where a Christmas tune is played
every hour on the hour.
Der gutmütige Hund ‚Fík‘ wurde im nahen Ahníkov
(Hagensdorf) geboren und weil dieses Dorf leider
schon verschwunden ist, begeht man seinen
Geburtstag am nächstgelegenen Ort – in Kadaň. Die
Geburtstagsfeier für Maxihund Fík ist eigentlich ein
tolles Kinderfest auf dem neu erbauten ‚Maxihund
Fík-Kai‘ (Nábřeží Maxipsa Fíka).

Despite the fact that we present many modern trends in the
tourist industry in the following pages, I have to admit the
past got the better of us. I can almost say that the most modern progress takes us back to our ancesters. Decide for
yourselves. It is not so long ago that the mining past of Ostrava was considered to be a black sheep of Czechoslovakian
history and now, twenty years later, these industrial sights
are getting rid of their stains and specialists talk about a promising trend of travelling to see local technical attractions.
Modern balneotherapy is expecting scientists to discover the
matter of so far unexplainable healing effects of climatotherapy that used to be called ´the good spirits of forests and
springs´ by our ancesters. They used to use them wisely, knowing that their sacred place gave them more than surrounding space. Cooking is getting on especially well with the
past. Molecular cooking is not considered old fashioned and
images of star kitchens do not hesitate to use recipes from
the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
And then we don´t use the wisdom of old times. This is just
an introduction in case you are hesitating where to look for
life vision and inspiration on the time axis. We offer a few
tips for you on the following pages.

GEEHRTE LESER,
obwohl wir uns auf den folgenden Seiten vielen Gegenwartstrends in der
Tourismusindustrie zu widmen gedenken, muss ich eingestehen, dass uns
die Vergangenheit gewissermaßen eingeholt hat. Fast ist man geneigt zu
sagen, dass der modernste Fortschritt geradewegs zu unsern Vorfahren führt.
Nun sagen Sie selbst. Es ist gar nicht so lange her, dass die Geschichte der
Bergbauregion Ostrava als dunkler Flecken auf der Weste der Tschechoslowakei
angesehen wurde und nun, zwanzig Jahre später, kaum haben sich
die hiesigen Industriedenkmale den Speichel von der Weste gewischt,
beginnen Tourismusexperten bereits von einem vielversprechenden neuen
Tourismustrend zu tuscheln – von Reisen zu beispiellosen Industriedenkmalen.
Die moderne Balneotherapie wiederum hofft, dass es endlich gelingt,
mithilfe der Informationsphysik das Prinzip des bisher nicht völlig geklärten
heilungsbeschleunigenden Effekts der Klimatotherapie aufzudecken, den die
einfache Bevölkerung zugegebenermaßen ein bisschen simpel „guten Wald- und
Quellengeistern“ zuschrieb, den sie nichtsdestoweniger durchdacht und reichlich
zu nutzen wusste, in der festen Überzeugung, dass solch ein heiliger Ort einfach

nur als Anstoß für den Fall, dass Sie nicht recht wissen, wo sie auf der Zeitachse

has become simpler

Since the beginning of December, Czech
Airlines (CSA) have switched to a piece
system of checking-in and transportation
of recorded luggage (luggage transported
in the shipping area) in all their network
of regular destinations. This way CSA
can raise the maximum weight limit of a
standard piece of luggage from 20 to 23 kg
in Economy class. The total sum of luggage
length, width and depth, however, can not
exceed 158 cm. Business class passengers
are entitled to take two pieces of luggage
free of charge. Now CSA passengers can
take on board two pieces of luggage, a
piece of cabin luggage and a piece of
hand luggage. Economy class passengers
must not exceed a total weight of 12 kg
for both pieces of luggage and Business
class passengers 18 kg. The total of length,
width and depth of cabin luggage must not
exceed 115 cm and hand luggage 90 cm.
Ab Anfang Dezember ist die Czech Airlines
(ČSA) in ihrem gesamten Netz regelmäßiger
Linien auf ein neues System übergegangen,
das allein auf der Anzahl der Gepäckstücke
und der Beförderung eingetragener (abgefertigter, d.h. im Frachtraum beförderter Gepäckstücke) basiert. ČSA erhöht dadurch das
Gewichtslimit von bestehenden 20 auf 23 kg
für die Economy Class. Die Summe aus Länge,
Breite und Tiefe des Gepäckstücks darf
158 cm nicht überschreiten. Business Class
Reisende haben Anspruch auf die kostenlose
Beförderung bis zu zwei solcher Gepäckstücke. ČSA-Reisende dürfen neuerdings zwei
Gepäckstücke mit an Bord nehmen – ein
Bord- und ein Handgepäck. Voraussetzung ist,
dass die Summe beider Gepäckstücke bei Reisenden der Economy Class 12 kg und der Business Class 18 kg nicht überschreitet. Die Summe aus Länge, Breite und Tiefe des Bordgepäcks darf 115 cm und des Handgepäcks
90 cm nicht überschreiten.

for service fees. It is cheaper to buy an extra service
for 55,- EUR (plus service charges) which includes
checking-in and transportation of another standard
piece of luggage .

Mit dem Übergang auf das Gepäckstückzahlsystem ändert ČSA auch die Gebühren für
Übergepäck. Die Fluggäste haben eine einmalige Gebühr von 100 EUR zu entrichten (bei Flügen auf den amerikanischen Kontinent 130 EUR) und dazu eine Bearbeitungsgebühr
von 10 EUR oder eines dementsprechenden Betrags in der Landeswährung. Es ist also günstiger, die Abfertigung und Beförderung eines
weiteren Standardgepäckstückes für 55 EUR

and in the phenomenon of slimming
down across the market, according
to experts. Luděk Vocílka, the
representative of the PCO company
of Guarant International notes
that: “In MICE we noticed a trend
of saving and economic behaviour
in all types of customers. Generally,
ordered events have become
shorter and there is more stress
on the efficiency and economical

events. I perceive Conference
association as a steadier segment
than company clients.” In this
respect Barotová points to her
own experience that showed that
company clients seem to be a little
bit active. At the same time the
manageress reminds one of the
syndromes of emergency solutions
from the last two years: “Events
agreed before the oscillation of
financial flow problems were
realized for the same price and
to the extent agreed in contracts,
however some meetings were
called off. We count on them but
there is no definite date,” she
thinks. Barotová also points out
that when the corporate clients
suspended their meetings, they
were meetings or parties of internal
top management while incentives
focusing on team building went
ahead according to plan.

Vocílka sieht das wie folgt: „Im MICE-Segment wird gespart – alle Typen von Kunden versuchen, sich
ökonomischer zu verhalten. Der
Trend der Verkürzung der Dauer der
bestellten Aktionen hält an und
auch der Druck auf effektive und
ökonomisch vertretbare Begleitaktionen ist größer. Konferenzen von
Vereinigungen halte ich für das stabilere Segment, als die Firmenklienten. In diesem Zusammenhang verweist Frau Barotová jedoch auf ihre
eigenen Erfahrungen, wonach Firmenklienten viel agiler zu sein scheinen, als große Auftraggeber. Die
Managerin verweist gleichzeitig auf
eines der Syndrome der Notlösungen in den letzten beiden Jahren:
„Aktionen, die unterzeichnet wurden, bevor die Finanzprobleme oszillierten, fanden zwar zum gleichen
Preis und im vertraglich vereinbarten
Umfang statt, andere Tagungen
wurden jedoch auch ganz storniert
und circa die Hälfte der Aktionen
wurde verschoben. Man rechnet
zwar mit ihnen – aber ein Ersatztermin ist inzwischen nicht festgelegt“,
meint sie. Frau Barotová verweist auf
einen interessanten Umstand: Wenn
die korporative Klientenschaft Meetings ausgesetzt hat, dann ging es
um Treffen oder Partys des inneren
Top-Managements, während die Incentives, die auf die Festigung externer Beziehungen abzielen, planmäßig verliefen.
Zukunftsgedanken
Die Tatsache, dass die Auftraggeber
von MICE-Aktionen dem Markt vielleicht noch ein paar Jährchen Diät
verschreiben, braucht letztendlich
gar nicht so schmerzhaft zu sein,
wie es aussieht, denn die verschobenen Aktionen beginnen eines Tages dann ja doch anzulaufen. Alles
hängt allein von den Terminen des
Beginns der Vorbereitungen und deren Länge ab, die bei den einzelnen
Typen unterschiedlich sind. „Bei uns
kam es vor, dass ein Klient ein Event
angefragt hat, um es gleich in der
darauf folgenden Woche abzuhalten“, erinnert sich Frau Barotová,
womit sie beweisen möchte, dass
die Klienten wohl wissen, wie breit
der Markt ist und welch extreme
Lösungen sie verlangen können.
Auch so sollte man bestimmt nichts
überhasten. Eine einjährige Distanz
ermöglicht eine bessere Preisorientierung in Abhängigkeit von der jeweiligen Saison. „Sich ein Event ein Jahr
im Voraus zu durchdenken ist schon
deshalb von Vorteil, weil man sich da
den günstigsten Termin auswählen
kann“, meint Frau Barotová. Zum
Beispiel kostet eine Unterkunft im Juni 130 Euro, im April aber nur 90 Euro. Vorausbedacht zahlt sich auch
dann aus, wenn der Klient an einem
Veranstaltungstermin mitten in der
Tourismussaison besteht. Es ist
durchaus angebracht, den Agenturen solch einen Termin schon ein
Jahr im Voraus mitzuteilen, später
sind die Kapazitäten wahrscheinlich
schon längst belegt. Vom ökonomischen Blickpunkt aus gesehen, ist
Herrn Vocílka zufolge sind die Monate Januar bis März oder die Sommermonate Juli und August der günstigste Zeitpunkt für den Kongresstourismus. Den Erfahrungen von Petr
Kukura zufolge werden Incentives
und Aktionen für korporative Klienten im Allgemeinen einige wenige
Monate im Voraus geplant, große
Kongresse wiederum auch fünf Jahre
im Voraus.
Wettbewerbsfähigkeit
durch den Preis – und
dann?
Mit dem gedämpften Interesse an
der Realisierung von MIKE-Aktionen
haben in der Gegenwart die meisten
europäischen Destinationen zu
kämpfen. Was die Auftraggeber interessiert, liegt auf der Hand: Der
Preis – beziehungsweise das PreisQualität-Verhältnis. „Auf die gesunkene Nachfrage reagierte der tschechische Markt recht unterschiedlich.
Allgemein lässt sich sagen, dass wir
flexiblere Bedingungen von all unseren Auftragnehmern geboten bekommen“, kommentiert Herr Vocílka
die Sachlage und erklärt, dass es in

sich aber sagen, dass für kleinere
Gruppen von bis zu 50 Personen
Kongresspakete preisgünstiger sind,
da sie auch Extra-Dienstleistungen
enthalten, wie die Konferenztechnik, den Gratis-Anschluss und einen
größeren Verpflegungsumfang während des Meetings. Für Gruppen
von mehr als 100 Personen ist die

VAT return.” Luděk Vocílka points
out a specificity that if PCO offers
a packaged event from A to Z they
guarantee the result of the event
and the balanced budget as its
only supplier. ~
Es ist also offensichtlich, dass das
Konzept der Kongresshotels trotz
der gegenwärtigen Flaute im lukrativen Tourismussegment bei richtiger
Einstellung der Parameter durchaus
Erfolg versprechend ist, was die Frage aufdrängt, in wie weit sich dieses
und PCO gegenseitig konkurrieren:

der PCO-Agenda kaum als Wettbewerber anzusehen ist. Unter anderem auch deswegen, weil es wahrscheinlich nie über die entsprechende Infrastruktur zur Erhebung der
Gebühren, zur Gewinnung von
Sponsoren und zur Vorbereitung der
Fachprogramme für Konferenzen
oder Tagungen verfügt. „Als Wettbewerber kann es jedoch bei Incentive-Klienten oder Aktionen von Firmen und Gesellschaften funktionieren und dies dann, wenn kein
Interesse an komplizierten Begleitprogrammen besteht. Frau Barotová
vergisst auch nicht, die gefragte
Dienstleistung der Unterstützung bei
der Umsatzsteuer-Rückerstattung an
ausländische Klienten zu erwähnen.
„Diese Dienstleistung bieten wir zusammen mit dem Budget an und allein der Klient entscheidet, ob er sie
in Anspruch nimmt oder nicht.
Wenn ja, empfehlen wir ihm eine
Firma, die sich direkt mit der Steuerrückerstattung befasst.“ Luděk Vocílka verweist noch auf eine weitere

Relaxation, adrenaline
and fun in Liberec Region
Those that yearn to get away from the bustle of city life,
can come to Liberec Region to relax. The picturesque
countryside, medieval castles and fairy-tale châteaus,
adrenaline sports, spa relaxation, culinary delights and
high-quality services all go to make Liberec Region an
ideal place for spending a holiday.

iberec Region is in the north
of the Czech Republic, on
the border with Germany and
Poland. The City of Liberec, with
a population of around 100,000,
is the regional capital and the
natural centre of the region.
Despite being the second smallest
region, it offers great diversity. Its
territory includes part of the Giant
Mountains, the Jizera Mountains,
Lusatian Mountains, Mácha‘s
Country and Bohemian Paradise.
These diverse areas make the

enter the world of kings and
nobles, experience the thrill of the
tournament, and treat yourselves
to gastronomic delights. Frýdlant
Castle, which owes its fame to
Albrecht of Wallenstein and the
Clam-Gallas family, is beyond doubt
one of the most magnificent historic
buildings. It was first opened up to
the public in 1801 thus becoming
the very first castle museum, in
Central Europe. Those that like
fairy-tale castles should not miss
out on a visit to Sychrov, which has
the so-called Rohan Gallery, the
most extensive collection of French
portrait paintings in Central Europe.
You can also admire in its interiors
the most impressive wood carving
work carried out by Petr Bušek.
You will find a host of other
magnificent buildings well worth
visiting including the castles of
Bezděz, Trosky, Grabštejn and
Houska.

There is a social dilemma whether the permanent
export of antiques for private collections is moral.
Simona Šustková, the President of the Association
of antiquarians, has a clear and modern opinion.
It is one of the best ways to discreetly publicise
the country because people like to boast about
beautiful things. Borders are long gone and art or
business never flourished in times of isolation.

In Bezug auf das gesellschaftliche Dilemma, ob die anhaltende Ausfuhr von Antiquitäten in Privatsammlungen
moralisch ist oder nicht, bezieht Simona Šustková, die Präsidentin der Antiquitätenhändlervereinigung, eine klare und
moderne Meinung. Dies sei eine der besten Formen der friedfertigen Propagierung der Heimat, denn mit schönen
Sachen prahlt man auch gern ein bisschen. Die Grenzen sind doch längst gefallen und Isolation und Abkapselung
gerieten Kunst und Handel noch nie zum Vorteil.
Madam President, according
to surveys conducted among
international visitors, the Czech
Republic belongs to those
countries with unique cultural
inheritance and interesting
history. To what extent does the
antiquarian tradition use this
publicity?
Perhaps not even Czechs themselves
realize there were two big
collectors, Charles IV and Rudolf
II, in the history of our country.
Both emperors had a taste for art
although not only for old art but
also for contemporary art. They
supported art creation, enriched
their personal collections with it,
brought works of art from abroad.

Nun, dessen sind sich wohl nicht
einmal die Tschechen selbst bewusst, aber unser Land hatte in seiner Geschichte gleich zwei große
Sammler – Karel IV. und Rudolph II.
Beide Kaiser zeichneten sich durch
ihr tiefes Kunstverständnis aus und
dies nicht nur für alte Kunst, sondern auch für Gegenwartskunst. Sie
unterstützten die Entstehung von
Kunstwerken, um ihre eigenen
Sammlungen zu bereichern und importierten Kunst auch aus dem Ausland. Die Kreise ihrer Nachfolger
und Bewunderer tendierten dazu,
es ihnen nachzumachen.
Die Grundlage der nationalen
Sammlertraditionen bildete sich
dann im 19. Jahrhundert heraus
und zwar Hand in Hand mit der nationalen Wiedergeburt auf kulturellem Gebiet, als sich das Sammlertum in den bürgerlichen Salons
profilierte. Es wurde zum neuen
Modetrend, Steckenpferd und war
anfangs eine Domäne der Männer,
die zum Beispiel auch volkstümliche
Stickereien sammelten. Nach und
nach eroberte diese Mode auch alle anderen gesellschaftlichen

them. The base of almost all this
national collectors tradition started
in the nineteenth century, parallel
to the revival of national culture,
when collecting concentrated
mainly on the burgess salons. It
became a fashion trend, a hobby.
Initially it was mostly men who
started collecting, even things like
folk embroidery. Later the fashion
moved to all social classes that were
connected with antiquities from
today’s point of view because, in
principle, furniture was handed over
from parents to children, nothing
got thrown away and from time to
time they bought something new.
Furniture, paintings, decorations
and dishes were handed down
from one generation to the next
whereby all kinds of peculiar things
were collected. When I meet people
who come to my shop to sell parts
of their inheritance, I can see that
in almost every family somebody
collected something. Another
auspicious period for collecting
was before the Second World War
when Bohemia was economically
successful so that many older and
contemporary works of art were
brought from abroad to Czech.
It is also true that during the
war and then in the socialist era,
Czech society had to sell these
antiquities either because of lack of
money or because of the pressure
in the atmosphere of artificial
cultural phenomenona and I know
stories where people dumped a
Renaissance chest of drawers.
What antiquities bought in
Czech today could we say were:
“a real bargain!”?
If one likes the thing they bought,
the purchase makes sense

smaller glassworks such as Novosad
in Harrachov. In my experience
these products are regarded as
a rarity on international markets
as despite their high demand
surpassing supply, they may treble
in price.
For many reasons it is attractive
to buy Czech garnet in antique

are stones from Czech localities.
From our point of view they are
rather overpriced, compare for
yourselves a necklace with twenty
stones costs about 20,000 CZK
(approx. 830 Euros). 3,000 Euros
isn’t an unusual price abroad. I
would include in this enumeration
textile, which is under-rated in

antique, it is good to keep the receipt. It is not
enough to keep the copy from card payments.

dass wohl in jeder Familie jemand
irgendetwas sammelte.

erworbenen Antiquitäten
würden Sie wohl heute sagen:
„Das war garantiert ein guter
Kauf!“?
Wenn einem ein Gegenstand wirklich gefällt, dann ist das ja nie nur
eine Frage des Geldes. Im Hinblick
auf den Preis und wohl auch auf
seine Einmaligkeit lohnt es sich, in
Tschechien traditionelle tschechische
Erzeugnisse zu kaufen – zum Beispiel Porzellan. Gern erwähne ich in

such as porcelain. I always like
to mention the North Bohemian
porcelain factory in Duchcov that
used to make beautiful art deco
models, later also used art in the
style of art deco. Czechs have not
fully appreciated this fragile art
but in America two books were
published on Duchcov porcelain. It
is advantageous to buy Bohemian

Sicht war die vor dem zweiten Weltkrieg, als es der Tschechoslowakei in
wirtschaftlicher Hinsicht so gut
ging, dass man es sich leisten konnte, viele ältere, abere auch zeitgenössische Kunstgegenstände aus
dem Ausland einzuführen. Tatsache
ist aber auch, dass sich die tschechische Gesellschaft in Kriegs- und sozialistischen Zeiten entweder unter
Zwang oder in der bedrückenden
Atmosphäre künstlicher kultureller
Phänomene sich gewisser Sachen
diesem Zusammenhang die Produktion der nordböhmischen Porzellanfabrik in Duchcov, die herrliche Jugendstilmodelle und später Gebrauchsgegenstände im
Art-déco-Stil schuf. Die Tschechen
selbst wissen ihren heimischen zarten Reichtum bisher kaum zu schätzen, aber zum Beispiel in Amerika
wurden schon zwei Bücher über das
Porzellan aus Duchcov veröffentlicht. Auch Glas zu kaufen zahlt sich
aus, unter anderem Moser-Glas, um
das Beispiel eines großen Herstellers
zu nennen, aber auch das Glas kleinerer Glasfabriken wie Novosad
in Harrachov. Meinen Erfahrungen
zufolge gelten diese Dinge auf ausländischen Ausstellungen als Rarität
und weil die Nachfrage das Ange29

was 49 million less than the year before, on the other hand in 2008 it
increased by 40 million CZK.
Only time will tell whether in the eyes of art lovers, art is still art and kitsch remains
kitsch. / Allein die Zeit zeigt, ob eine Antiguität in den Augen der Kunstliebhaber Kunst
bleibt oder zu Kitsch devalviert.

Granaten, da man dann sicher sein
kann, dass sie garantiert aus tschechischen Fundstellen stammen. Aus
unserer Sicht sind sie im Ausland
deutlich überteuert – vergleichen
sie selbst: eine Halskette mit 20
Steinen bekommt man bei uns für
20.000 CZK (ca. 830 Euro), außerhalb der tschechischen Grenzen
sind 3000 Euro jedoch längst keine
Seltenheit. In diese Aufzählung gehören aber auch Textilien, deren
Wert bei uns klar unterschätzt wird,
tschechische Klienten interessieren
sich einfach nicht für sie. Deshalb
gibt es bei uns auch keine Geschäfte, die sich zum Beispiel auf alte
Überwürfe spezialisieren, wie dies
in Italien der Fall ist. Falls man in
Tschechien aber auf solch eine Sache stößt, ist sie auch viermal billi-
stände zwischen 200 und 800 Euro. Diese Grenze ist kaum zu übertreffen, die Klientel ist gesättigt.
Dieser, sagen wir mal, zahlreichsten mittelständigen Interessengruppe würde ich empfehlen,
mehrere Läden abzuklappern, die
sich mit Antiquitäten beschäftigen
– es gibt an die 500. Einfach um
festzustellen, welche Auswahl es
gibt und zu welchen Preisen. Namentlich in der Prager Altstadt in
der Umgebung des Hotels Four
Seasons gibt es äußerst niveauvolle
Antiquitätengeschäfte, die gern
von Leuten aufgesucht werden, die
teure Sachen von hoher Qualität
erstehen möchten, zum Beispiel
Diamantringe, es gibt aber auch
Geschäfte, die eine breite Skala
allgemeiner Antiquitäten ohne höheres Maß an Spezialisierung anbieten.
Deren Absenz ist übrigens ein weiteres ausgeprägtes Merkmal des
tschechischen Marktes, eine Ausnahme bilden wahrscheinlich nur
Firmen, die sich auf Möbel spezialisieren. Und dann gibt es noch An-

Die Auktioen of investments
Dem Jahrbuch Art+ zufolge erreichten die bei Auktionen in Tschechien
erzielten Umsätze im Jahre 2010 702 Millionen Kronen. Das Interesse der
Investoren an Einkäufen war zwar 49 Millionen geringer als im Vorjahr,
andererseits übertraf es das von 2008 um ganze 40 Millionen Kronen.

wisely. How much do typical
tourists spend in Czech for
antiquities and where can they
find them?
I know from my own experience
that typical tourists usually buy

things from 200 to 800 Euros. It
is difficult to get above this limit
because the clientele is satiated. I
would advise, let’s say, most typical
middle-class clients to visit several
shops selling antiquities of which
there are about five hundred. They
can find out what selection there is
and compare their prices. Especially
in Prague in the Old Town in the
surroundings of the Four Seasons
Hotel, there are very good quality
shops where people usually come
to buy high quality and expensive
things like rings with stones, plus
a wide spectrum of universal
antiquities without any detailed

Ich persönlich habe die Erfahrung
gemacht, dass sich auch Speiseservices gut und oft verkaufen lassen
und dies sowohl an in- als auch
ausländische Klienten. Bestimmt es
richtig auch dann zu kaufen, wenn
man als Sammler etwas findet, womit man seine Sammlung ergänzen
kann. Normale Kunden betrachten
Antiquitäten nicht als Investition,
zumindest nicht im ersten Moment.
Dass sie möglicherweise eine vorteilhafte Investition darstellen, wird
eher als Bonus angesehen, den alte
Sachen in sich bewahren.
Auch der Antiquitätenmarkt
blieb von der Finanzkrise nicht
verschont und die Leute kaufen
mit Bedacht. Wie viel gibt der
Normaltourist in Tschechien für
Antiquitäten aus und wo überall
werden sie ihm angeboten?
Meinen Erfahrungen zufolge kaufen gewöhnliche Touristen Gegen-
tik-Basare, die Sachen feilbieten, die
sich gut im Wochenendhaus ausmachen. Sie sind ideal, wenn man auf
der Suche nach Gebrauchsgegenständen ist. Wer sich nicht an der
Bric-à-Brac Auswahl der Gegenstände stößt, darf mit günstigen Preisen
immer öfter rechnen. Auch Auktionssäle erfreuen sich der Aufmerksamkeit von Touristen.
Die Beschaffung von
Antiquitäten ist eine Sache, ihre
Ausfuhr eine ganz andere. Wir
bitten Sie um ein paar Worte zur
Rechtslage.
Die derzeitige Rechtsregelung differenziert verschiedene Verfahrensweisen, die an die Antiquitätenhändler beträchtliche, aber auch
völlig gerechtfertigte Ansprüche
stellen. Das Gesetz legt klipp und
klar fest, was eine Antiquität ist,
was ausgeführt werden darf und
was nicht. Zum Beispiel unterstehen
nationale Kulturdenkmale einem
Sondermodus, der lediglich eine
zeitweilige Ausleihe zu besonderen

Present-day legal regulations
distinguish between several
regimes and at the same time have
considerable and quite rightful
administrative claims on business
people. The law states clearly what
is an antique and what may and
may not be exported. For example,
a temporary export regime applies
to national monuments and
antiquities and for purposes of
exhibiting. Rule number one in real
export is that a sacred monument
or antiquity can be exported only
with appropriate permission. The
antiquarian is obliged to have all
their basic documentation settled in
advance before they can exhibit the
objects in their shop, otherwise face
penalties.
For non-sacred articles there are
several categories in which things
of certain age and in a certain
price range might be exported
without permission and which
require administrative permission.

Some categories are determined
by age only, e.g. old folk nativity
scenes. Customers are advised to
keep a receipt of purchase for less
expensive purchases. For example,
it is not enough to keep the credit
card receipt, the invoice is the best
evidence of purchase, where it is
clearly stated what object, author
and which period it is from and
then there is the price, stamp
and signature. Shopkeepers take
guarantee upon themselves in case
customs seized the goods and
questioned its origin. It isn’t unusual
that you get stopped in Germany
and customs demand to see the
acquiring documents.
In which cases is export of
antiques burdened by duty tax?
Export to EU states is duty free
but exporting things outside EU
countries you have to pay duty tax.
There is also dispensation where
part of the fee gets refunded. For
example, the United States tries
to motivate Americans to import
beautiful valuable artwork home.
It’s definitely likeable how the state
invests into the quality of life of its
inhabitants. ~

Was die Ausfuhr als solche betrifft,
gilt als oberste Regel, dass sakrale
Kulturdenkmale einzig und allein
mit entsprechender Genehmigung
ausgeführt werden dürfen. Der Antiquitätenhändler ist zur Beschaffung der erforderlichen Unterlagen
verpflichtet, bevor er die Gegenstände im Geschäft ausstellt, sonst
riskiert er Sanktionen.
Bei nichtsakralen Gegenständen
gibt es verschiedene Kategorien, die
entscheiden, welche Gegenstände
von welchem Alter und auf welchem Preisniveau ohne Genehmigung ausgeführt werden können
und welche nur mit behördlicher
Zustimmung. So können Kunden
bedenkenlos eine Porzellanfigur
oder ein Gemälde im Preis von bis
zu 30 000 CZK kaufen und diese
ohne jegliche Ausfuhrdokumente
ausführen. Bei Möbelgruppen ist
dies bis zu einem Beschaffungspreis
von 50 000 CZK möglich. In manchen Kategorien sind allein Altersgrenzen gesetzt, zum Beispiel bei
volkstümlichen Weihnachtskrippen.
Aber auch bei diesen weniger teueren Sachen tut man gut, sich immer
die Quittung zum erworbenen Stück
aufzubewahren. Die Kreditkartenquittung reicht nicht aus, am besten
ist es, sich eine Rechnung ausstellen
zu lassen, aus der klar hervorgeht,
um welchen Gegenstand, von welchem Autor und aus welchem Jahr
es geht, samt bezahltem Preis,
Stempel und Unterschrift. In diesem
Fall haftet der Händler für den Fall,
dass der Zoll die Ware einzieht und
Erklärung verlangt. Es ist nicht ungewöhnlich, dass man in Deutschland angehalten und aufgefordert
wird, die entsprechenden Kaufbelege vorzulegen.
In welchen Fällen hat man für
die Ausfuhr von Antiquitäten
Zoll zu bezahlen?
Warenbewegung innerhalb der EU
sind von Zoll befreit, wenn die Ware
die EU verlässt, wird Zoll erhoben.
Es gibt aber auch Milderungen, bei
denen ein Teil der Taxe zurückerstattet wird. Auf diese Weise motiviert zum Beispiel die USA ihre Bürger, schöne und wertvolle Gegenstände in ihr Land einzuführen.

The European Union left the protection of the antiquities market to
member states own decisions and that is why there are big differences
in this area. The state regulates the export of antiquities and art objects
from CR by a special law and in many cases it isn’t possible without special
permission. Art-lovers who like beautiful things or want to invest wisely save
time and worry using a complete service of specialized companies.

möglich. Mit dem kompletten Full-Service spezialisierter
Firmen erspart man sich viel Zeit und Sorgen, wenn man
nach schönen Dingen oder einer guten Investition sucht.

besorgen die erforderlichen
Dokumente bei den
zuständigen Behörden, das
Sachverständigengutachten
für die Versicherung und den
Versicherungsschein. Und
organisieren natürlich den Transport
der Wertgegenstände über die
Grenze.

Schritt 1: Dokumente
Zuerst braucht man jedoch eine
Ausfuhrgenehmigung für den Export aus Tschechien bzw. der Europäischen Gemeinschaft. Im Kultusministerium und weiteren Institutionen wie in der Tschechischen
Nationalgalerie oder im Kunstgewerbemuseum Prag gibt es spezielle
Exportabteilungen, die dafür sorgen, dass ein privater Sammler die

Gegenstände richtig ausführt. Ein
tschechisches Kulturdenkmal darf
zum Beispiel nicht dauerhaft exportiert werden und darf Tschechien
nur in besonderen Fällen wie etwa
zu Ausstellungszwecken verlassen.
Schritt 2: Versichern und
nicht zerbrechen
Die Ausfuhrgenehmigung ist nicht
das einzige erforderliche Dokument.
Vom Sinn einer Versicherung muss
man wohl niemanden überzeugen.
Auf Wunsch kümmern sich die Firmen auch um die Versicherungsangelegenheiten, und dafür wird ein
Sachverständigengutachten benötigt, ohne das ein Wertgegenstand
nicht versichert werden kann. Da es
sich meist um leicht zerbrechliche
Gegenstände handelt, bieten die
Firmen automatisch eine sichere
Verpackungstechnik an und fertigen
bei größeren Frachtsendungen nicht
selten sogar spezielle Transportverpackungen an. Eine weitere Notwendigkeit ist die Abwicklung der
Exportformalitäten beim tschechischen Zollamt. Zum Full-Service gehört auch der Transport mit Transportern und Lkws, per Schiff als
Sammelfracht und in Containern sowie als Luftfracht.
Laut Dipl.-Ing. Martin Chramosta

stodola.cz) sind alle Formalitäten innerhalb von drei Wochen erledigt,
wobei der Mindestpreis für den
kompletten Exportservice bei etwa
6.500 CZK liegt. ~

seinen lieblichen Oderauen zieren

Jičín, Příbor und Štramberk. Auch die
Tourismusregion Ostrava hat ihren
spezifischen und auffälligen Charakter, der vom jahrhundertelangen Steinkohlebergbau
und vom Hüttenwesen geprägt wurde. Der Hüttenbetrieb kam in der Region Ostrava jedoch schon endgültig
zum Erliegen. Die bergmännische
Vergangenheit dieser Gegend lebt
heute in zahlreichen, vor allem aber
einzigartigen technischen Denkmalen auf. Těšinské Slezsko – Teschener
Schlesien ist ein malerischer Landstrich an der Grenze zu Polen mit interessanten volkstümlichen Bräuchen
und jungfräulicher Natur. Die Tourismusregion Troppauer Schlesien
(Opavské Slezsko) ist zwar nur ein
schmaler Landstrich, dennoch hat sie
eine breite Palette an Sehenswürdigkeiten zu bieten. Namentlich seine
märchenhaften Schlösser, historischen Städte und gut erhaltenen
Festungen locken Ströme von Touristen an. Und dann ist hier noch das
Gesenke (Jeseníky), über dem der
gute Berggeist Praděd thront. Das
Gesenke ist ein äußerst beliebtes
Tourismusgebiet und dies nicht nur
seiner natürlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten wegen, sondern auch dank der
ältesten Schmalspurbahn in ganz
Mitteleuropa, auf der eine gute alte

Area of Dolní Vítkovice – a
national cultural landmark
A totally unique industrial area
from the 1st half of the 19 th
century became a national cultural
Dolní Vítkovice

monument in July 2002. It forms a
typical southern skyline of Ostrava
also called “Ostrava Hradčany”
and is comprised of three
joined units – the Hlubina mine,
coking plant and a blast furnace
ironworks in Vítkovice. The whole
technological process of iron
making was thus concentrated
in one place– starting with coal
mining and its coking as far as the
production of the final product,
raw iron. The running of the
Vítkovice blast furnaces ended as
late as 1998 and now the factory
is available to the wider public as
an industrial open-air museum. At
present, co-operation with many
specialists, historians and top
Czech architects realized a project
called Nové Vítkovice dealing
with the gradual rebuilding of the
most valuable parts in the lowerpart into an absolutely unique
architectural enterprise. There will
be an industrial open-air museum
as well as a multi-function cultural
premises including an unusual
modern conference centre
reconstructed from a former giant
gas-holder. The whole premises in
an area of 1,5 kilometres around,
is an example of well-considered
expansion of industry that
affected the general character of
Ostrava region. Today this unique
technical and architectural sight is
visited by people from all over the
world!

wird in Zusammenarbeit mit zahlreichen Experten, Historikern und
namhaften Persönlichkeiten der
tschechischen Architektur das einzigartige Projekt ‚Nové Vítkovice‘
realisiert, ein absolut einmaliges architektonisches Vorhaben zur
Landek Park Ostrava-Petříkovice
schrittweisen Erneuerung der wertvollsten Objekte im Bereich‚Dolní
oblast‘. So entstehen hier sowohl
ein industrielles Freilichtmuseum,

The history of this former
carboniferous mine goes back to
1843. A sightseeing tour makes it
possible for visitors to take the same
route that workers took daily when
they went to work– they follow the
miner’s path from their changing
rooms all the way to the pit.
Emphasis is laid at the same time on
the authenticity of the environment

Die Geschichte dieser Steinkohlengrube reicht bis ins Jahr 1843 zurück. Der Besichtigungsrundgang
bietet den Besuchern die Gelegenheit, die gesamte Strecke zu durchlaufen, die die Bergleute Tag für Tag
oder besser Schicht für Schicht absolvierten – aus den Umkleideräumen bis hin zum Schacht in gesamter Länge. Großen Nachdruck legt
man dabei auf die Authentizität des
Milieus bis ins kleinste Detail, von
Anfang an war beabsichtigt, das gesamte Gelände in seiner ursprünglichen Form zu belassen, so als wären

Recently, the Czech Republic has had 12 sights enlisted
on the UNESCO heritage list. They illustrate the
atmosphere of Romanesque, Gothic, light Rennaissance
and corpulent Baroque, innovation of the 19th century
and the thoughtfulness of Functionalism.
Derzeit sind 12 tschechische materielle Denkmale in der
Liste des UNESCO-Welterbes verzeichnet. Sie belegen die
Atmosphäre der romanischen und gotischen Epoche, die
Leichtigkeit der Renaissance und die Korpulenz des Barocks

he Hop Museum has the biggest
exposition of its kind in the world.
It documents the development of the
hop industry from the Middle Ages
up till today on an area of 4,000 sq.
metres. The complex also includes the
hop lighthouse, from where there
is a wonderful view, and Labyrinth,
at the end of which is a maze with
hidden treasure. You can also admire
the unconventional Hop Horologue,
the only one of its kind in the world.
Your visit will then take you on
a tour of the “U Orloje” Mini
Brewery, where you can see how
beer is brewed. From there your
steps will lead you to the Brewery
Restaurant, which offers regional
dishes.
The Gothic Castle in Litoměřice
should be welcoming its first
visitors in March. The castle was
built in the second half of the

13th century under the rule of
Přemysl Otakar II. During one of
his visits here, Emperor Charles
IV signed a decree permitting the
cultivation of grape vines in the area
of Litoměřice. Lovers of medieval
heritage sites will not be the only
ones to welcome the opening of
the castle to the public, as it will
also involve a wine centre where
visitors can come to taste the local
wines and view an exhibition about
wine making. ~

as Hopfenmuseum ist
das größte Museum
seiner Art weltweit. Auf einer
Ausstellungsfläche von 4.000
m2 wird die Geschichte des
Hopfenbaus vom frühen
Mittelalter bis in die Gegenwart

ungewöhnlichen Verarbeitung.
Die Minibrauerei ‚U Orloje‘ ist
daher nur die logische Fortsetzung
der Besichtigungsrunde. Das
Saazer Bier wird hier vor den
Blicken der neugierigen Besucher
gebraut. Kehren Sie unbedingt im
Brauereirestaurant mit seinen
zahlreichen Regionalgerichten ein,
um ein zünftiges böhmisches Bier
direkt vor Ort zu kosten.
Die gotische Burg Litoměřice
– Leitmeritz freut sich schon im
März auf ihre ersten Besucher.
Die Burg entstand in der zweiten
Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts unter
König Přemysl Otakar II. Gerade
hier unterzeichnete Kaiser Karel
IV. die Urkunden, die es erlaubten,
in der Gegend um Litoměřice
Wein anzubauen. Die zugänglich
gemachte Burg wird hiermit zu einer
neuen Attraktion dieser Region und
dies sicher nicht nur für Freunde
des mittelalterlichen Burgenbaus.
Der ambitiöse ‚Weintempel‘ mit
Weindegustationen und Ausstellung
über die Weinherstellung will nämlich
zum Zentrum des Weintourismus in

Vary dates back to the Middle

along the Vřídelní, Tržní and Mlýnská

Karlsbad reicht bis tief ins Mittelalter zurück, als die hiesigen Heilquellen auch für die höchste gesellschaftliche Elite im Umfeld des böhmischen Herrschers entdeckt

Stadt 15 Quellen und die meisten
von ihnen sind in der Sprudel-,
Markt- und Mühlenkolonnade zu

Marienbad (Marianské Lázně) ist das

kleinste Stadt dieses weltberühmten
Dreiecks ist Franzensbad
(Františkovy Lázně), sie ist für ihre

und Fülle gibt und zu Trinkkuren,

nommen jeder anmelden, wenn es
sich jedoch um ein Event handelt,

In den letzten Jahren ist es auch zu

The oldest spa in Moravia,
Slatinice is located only 14 km from
Olomouc. Curative sources here
are natural sulphur water with
hypotonic content of hydrogen
sulfide and a variety of other
beneficial elements. It specializes
in medical treatment of kinetic
system disorders. Accommodation
is offered in two spa houses −
Hanačka and Balnea − located
several metres from the main
historical building called Moravia.
The spa also offers underwater
massages or jacuzzi. There are also
skittles, outside chess or petanque.
You can hire a bike and special

für ernste Krankheiten
Die tschechischen Heilbäder gehören zu den ältesten
und besten Heilbädern in ganz Mitteleuropa, wobei
die größten, wie zum Beispiel Marienbad (Marianské
Lázně) im In- und Ausland schon lange ein Begriff
sind. Aber auch kleinere Heilbäder haben erstklassige
Heilmittel zu bieten.
Bad Slatinice
Bad Slatinice, das älteste Bad in
Mähren, liegt nur 14 km hinter Olomouc. Ortsspezifische Heilmittel
sind hier Mineralquellen mit natürlichem schwefelhaltigem Wasser mit
hypotonischem Schwefelwasserstoffgehalt und einer ganzen Reihe
weiterer gesundheitsförderlicher
Elemente. Hier widmet man sich vor
allem Krankheiten des Stütz- und
Bewegungsapparates. Unterkunft
wird in zwei Kurhäusern geboten –
‚Hanačka‘ und ‚Balnea‘, die nur ein

“While creating the menu we focused above all on using local ingredients that might be
interesting for our Polish guests. Historically, locals used the nearby lakes and rivers as
well as forests and so did we. Our credo is using one local ingredient in each dish. Trout
is from the nearby Elbe dam, wild mushrooms are from local forests and fruit is from

“A good starter can be a taste of lightly smoked ham from local producers accompanied
with horseradish and a pint of beer. I have chosen duck for the main course because
I know that the British like red meat. On the other hand our sirloin could seem a bit
dry for them. Crunchy roast duck with apple, ginger and dark honey suppresses the
roughness and the meat will become very tender. Red cabbage and potato dumplings
flavoured with ground gingerbread boost up the taste of duck. A second option would
be Czech fish. Roasted trout will go well with Rulandske grey from the Mádl winery.
Light apricot cake with almonds and vanilla sauce goes with Pálava wine, it makes a nice
finish,” concludes Leon Malík on his menu.

zubereiteter Lendenbraten käme ihnen möglicherweise zu trocken vor. Apfel, Ingwer
und Waldhonig unterdrücken die Roheit der knusprig gebratenen Ente und das Fleisch
wird dadurch sehr angenehm. Der Rotkohl und die mit geriebenem Pfefferkuchen abgeschmeckten Knödel betonen den Geschmack der Ente noch. Eine weitere Möglichkeit wäre tschechischer Fisch, zu einer frischen Bratforelle würde Grauer Ruländer aus
dem Weingut Mádl am besten passen. Ein duftiger Marillenkuchen mit Mandeln und
Vanillesoße, zusammen mit einem Gläschen Palavá-Wein wären der gelungene Schlusspunkt“, schließt Leon Malík sein vorgeschlagenes Menü ab.
