1. Einleitung
Der Mechatronics Assistant stellt Ihnen ein umfangreiches Archiv mit
Aufgaben und den zur Lösung notwendigen oder in Zusammenhang
stehenden Dokumenten, Grafiken, Animationen, Videos und
Präsentationen zur Verfügung.
1.1
Für die Ausbildung in
Schule und Betrieb
1.1.1 Ausbilder/Lehrer
Ausbilder/Lehrer finden in diesem Pool alles, was sie für den Unterricht,
für Prüfungen oder Projektarbeiten benötigt: Arbeitsblätter,
Aufgabenblätter, Zeichnungen, Lehrtexte, Lösungen, Schaltpläne,
Videos, Lehrpläne, Auszüge aus der technischen Dokumentation usw.
Spezielle Informationen sind in einem Kennwort geschützten
Verzeichnis gespeichert.
1.1.2 Auszubildende
Auszubildende können nach einer gegebenen Aufgabenstellung selbst
mit dem Mechatronics Assistant arbeiten. Sie finden alles, was zur
Lösung der gestellten Aufgabe notwendig ist. Die vorgegebenen
Lösungen liegen in einem Kennwort geschützten Bereich.

Installation
Mit Mechatronics Assistant haben Sie eine CD und diese Anleitung
erworden. Die ersten Schritte zur Installation:
• Schalten Sie den PC ein und starten Sie ggf. Microsoft Windows.
• Legen Sie die Mechatronics Assistant CD-ROM ein.
• Klicken Sie im Startmenü auf den Eintrag Ausführen.
• Tragen Sie d:\setup.exe im Eingabefeld der geöffnete Dialogbox ein.
Bestätigen Sie Ihre Eingabe durch Klicken auf OK.
• Wenn Ihr CD-ROM Laufwerk einen andere Bezeichnung als d:\
besitzt, müssen Sie entsprechend den Buchstaben d: ersetzen.

1.3.1 Start der Installation
Es erscheint der Startbildschirm des Installationsprogramms:
Befolgen Sie die Hinweise des Installationsprogramms. Wenn Sie bei
der Beantwortung einiger Fragen unsicher sind, klicken Sie entweder
auf Zurück oder Weiter.

Sie werden zuerst mit den Lizenzvereinbarungen von Festo Didactic
vertraut gemacht. Diese Lizenzvereinbarungen müssen Sie in jedem Fall
anerkennen, andernfalls ist es nicht möglich, die Installation
fortzusetzen.
Klicken Sie zuerst auf Anerkennen und anschließend auf die
Schaltfläche Weiter.

Hier geben wir Ihnen die Option die Software nur für einen
angemeldeten Benutzer zu installieren.

Im Fenster Zielordner wählen definieren Sie, in welchem
Unterverzeichnis Mechatronics Assistant installiert werden soll.
Standardmäßig haben wir für Sie das Unterverzeichnis
C:\Programme\didactic\Festo Mechatronics Assistant.de ausgewählt.
Zur Installation in einem anderen Verzeichnis wählen Sie Durchsuchen.

Sie haben außerdem die Möglichkeit, eine bestimmte Programmgruppe
anzugeben, in welcher die Mechatronics Assistant Symbole gespeichert
werden.
Hier geben wir Festo Didactic als Programmgruppe standardmäßig vor,
die von Ihnen selbstverständlich auch umbenannt werden kann.

1. Einleitung
Sie haben die Möglichkeit zu bestimmen, wo die Media Daten für den
Mechatronics Assistant gesucht werden sollen.
Hier geben wir Media Daten von CDROM standardmäßig vor.
Sie können natürlich auch die gesamten Inhalte des Mechatronics
Assistant auf die Festplatte ihres PC kopieren. Beachten Sie bitte, dass
hierfür ca. 620 MB freier Speicherplatz benötigt werden.

1. Einleitung
In diesem Dialogfenster werden Sie aufgefordert, die Produkt-ID
einzugeben. Die Produkt-ID ist eine 23-stellige BuchstabenZahlenkombination. Sie finden diese auf der Rückseite der CD-Hülle.
Bei Eingabe einer fehlerhaften Produkt-ID erhalten Sie vom Programm
eine Rückmeldung und werden aufgefordert, eine gültige Produkt-ID
einzugeben.

Mechatronics Assistant ist nun für die Installation bereit. Wählen Sie
Starten, um die Online Aktivierung zu beginnen.

Sie haben verschiedene Möglichkeiten zur Aktivierung Ihrer Lizenz.
Standardmäßig empfehlen wir die direkte Online-Aktivierung. Im
zweiten Fall können Sie diesen Prozess auch von einem anderen PC
durchführen oder Sie können den Aktivierungscode auch telefonisch
erfragen.
Der Telefonservice ist aber nur von
Montag – Freitag in der Zeit von 8:00 Uhr – 22:00 MEZ verfügbar.

1.3.2 Online-Aktivierung
Sie haben sich für die direkte Online-Aktivierung entschieden:
Sie werden aufgefordert eine Internetverbindung herzustellen. Ist dies
der Fall, erfolgt automatisch die Freischaltung.
Falls durch eine Firewall Ihres Internetzuganges keine direkte
Kommunikation möglich ist, erhalten Sie folgendes Dialogfenster:

Sie erhalten in der obigen Anzeige den Aktivierungscode, den Sie bitte
markieren und mit der Tastenkombination Strg+C kopieren.

Fügen Sie den Aktivierungscode mit Strg+V in das Eingabefenster ein.
Die Freischaltung wird abgeschlossen, wenn Sie auf Fertig stellen
klicken.
Mit den gewählten Optionen wird der Mechatronics Assistant jetzt auf
dem PC installiert.

1.3.3 Indirekte Aktivierung
Sie haben die Option gewählt, die Online-Aktivierung von einem
anderen PC durchzuführen. Dann erhalten Sie folgende Aufforderung:

Während der indirekten Aktivierung darf der PC, auf dem der
Mechatronics Assistant aktiviert werden soll, nicht herunter gefahren
werden.

Sie wählen nun auf einem anderen PC einen Internetzugang zur
angegebenen Internetadresse. Es wird folgendes Dialogfenster
geöffnet:
Sie kopieren den Lizenzschlüssel in das entsprechende Eingabefeld und
klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Aktivierungscode generieren.
Es erscheint wie zuvor die Anzeige des Aktivierungscodes. Sie müssen
sich diesen Code kopieren und in das vorgegebene Feld Ihres
Installationsrechners einfügen.

1.3.4 Telefonische Anfrage
Sie haben sich für die telefonische Anfrage nach dem Aktivierungscode
entschieden:
Sie wenden sich an eine der oben angegebenen Telefonnummern und
werden nach der Angabe des Lizenzschlüssels gefragt.
Sie erhalten den Aktivierungscode, den Sie dann in das dafür
vorgesehene Feld eintragen. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Fertig
stellen und Ihre Lizenz ist freigeschaltet.

Sie können sich den Lizenzschlüssel sichern. Dazu klicken Sie auf die
Taste ‚Drucken/Kopieren’. Sie erhalten folgendes Dialogfeld:
Hier erhalten Sie verschiedene Optionen, um den Lizenzschlüssel zu
speichern.

1.3.5 Sun® Java Plug-in
Damit Mechatronics Assistant auf dem PC ausgeführt werden kann,
muss Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment SE V1.4.1_02 auf dem PC
installiert sein. Die Installation erfolgt während der Installation des
Mechatronics Assistant.
Folgen Sie zur Installation den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.

1.3.6 Abschluss der Installation
Das erfolgreiche Ende der Installation von Mechatronics Assistant wird
Ihnen mitgeteilt. Klicken Sie auf Fertig stellen.
Hiermit ist die Installation der Software vollständig.

1.3.7 Hinweis für Microsoft® Windows 98 Benutzer
Auf Microsoft® Windows 98 Rechnern muss das DFÜ-Netzwerk installiert
sein. Sollte es noch nicht installiert sein, gehen Sie bitte wie folgt vor:
1. Rufen Sie über Start – Einstellungen die Systemsteuerung auf.
2. Wählen Sie Windows-Setup.
3. Wählen Sie Verbindungen.
4. Markieren Sie DFÜ-Netzwerk mit einem Haken und bestätigen Sie
mit OK.
Neben dem DFÜ-Netzwerk ist auch das TCP/IP-Protokoll notwendig.
Sollte das TCP/IP-Protokoll auf Ihrem Rechner nicht installiert sein, sind
folgende Schritte notwendig:
1. Rufen Sie über Start – Einstellungen die Systemsteuerung auf.
2. Wählen Sie der Reihe nach Netzwerk, Hinzufügen, Protokoll,
Hersteller Microsoft, TCP/IP.
3. Bestätigen Sie mit OK.

2.1
Starten
Zum Starten des Mechatronics Assitant gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

2.2
Verschlüsselung
Die Inhalte des Mechatronics Assistant sind verschlüsselt. Die
Entschlüsselung findet zur Laufzeit durch einen Offline Server statt. Ein
direkter Aufruf der verschlüsselten Dateien ist möglich, es werden aber
keine sinnvollen Zeichenketten auf dem Bildschirm dargestellt.
Hinweis
Von der Verschlüsselung ausgenommen sind die Dateien im Ordner
Quellen.
2.3
Beenden
Beim Beenden des Browsers läuft der Offline Server zunächst weiter.
Durch einen Doppelklick auf das Taskleistensymbol öffnet sich wieder
der Browser mit der Startseite des Mechatronics Assitant.

Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Taskleistensymbol des
Offline Servers. Wählen Sie im Kontextmenü Beenden. Der Offline
Server wird geschlossen.
Beim Herunterfahren des Rechners wird der Offline Server automatisch
geschlossen.

3. Funktionen des Mechatronics Assistant
Hinweis
Die folgenden Abschnitte des Handbuchs sind nur für Ausbilder
gedacht. Geben Sie die enthaltenen Informationen bitte nicht an
Auszubildende weiter.
3.1
Geschützter Ordner
Ausbilder
Alle Dateien, die im Ordner Ausbilder des Mechatronics Assitant liegen,
sind nur mit einem Kennwort zugänglich. Dieser Ordner ist nur durch
Eingabe des Masterkennwortes zugänglich.
Es wird das Standard-Verfahren http Basic Authentication benutzt, d.h.
das Dialogfenster für die Eingabe von Benutzername und Kennwort wird
vom Webbrowser geliefert:
3.1.1 Masterkennwort
Der Benutzername für den Ausbilder lautet Ausbilder,
das Masterkennwort didactic.
Bei einer Anmeldung als Ausbilder steht auch der Bereich Loesungen
zur Verfügung.

3.2
Geschützter Ordner
Loesungen
Alle Dateien, die im Ordner Loesungen des Mechatronics Assitant
liegen, sind nur mit einem Kennwort zugänglich.
Es wird das Standard-Verfahren http Basic Authentication benutzt, d.h.
das Dialogfenster für die Eingabe von Benutzername und Kennwort wird
vom Webbrowser geliefert:
Der Benutzername für die Kursteilnehmer lautet pauschal Trainee.

Die jeweils gültigen Kennwörter können über die Seite Kennwörter für
Auszubildende im Ordner Ausbilder eingesehen werden.
Hinweis
Diese Seite ist ausschließlich für den Ausbilder zugänglich.
Die gelisteten Tageskennwörter (Daily Passwords) sind in Kombination
mit dem Benutzernamen Trainee jeweils für den genannten Tag gültig
und werden für eine Woche im Voraus angezeigt. Die gelisteten
Wochenkennwörter (Weekly Passwords) sind in der genannten Woche
gültig und werden für drei Wochen im Voraus angezeigt.

3.3
Eigene Dateien
Richten Sie auf Ihrem Rechner im Ordner Eigene Dateien einen
Unterordner namens Festo Mechatronics Assistant ein. Dieser
Unterordner wird zur Laufzeit in die Sitmap des Mechatronics Assistant
eingeblendet. Speichern Sie in diesem Unterordner Ihre eigenen
Dateien. Sie haben dann aus dem Mechatronics Assitant Zugriff auf
diese Dateien.
Es gilt:
• Auf oberster Ebene in der Sitemap (am unteren Ende der Liste) wird
ein Ordner Meine Dokumente angezeigt.
• In diesem Ordner werden automatisch Dateien und Unterordner von
Eigene Dateien\Festo Mechatronics Assistant eingeblendet.
• In die Sitemap aufgenommen werden hierbei Textdateien (*.doc,
*.txt), PDF-Dateien (*.pdf) und HTML-Dateien (*.htm, *.html).
• Andere Dateitypen sowie verborgene Dateien werden nicht
berücksichtigt.
• Als Beschriftung dient der Dateiname ohne Erweiterung.
• Der Sitemap-Bereich Meine Dokumente nimmt an der normalen
Navigation teil. Eine Volltextsuche in den benutzerspezifischen
Dateien ist nicht möglich.

Navigation im
Mechatronics Assistant
Klicken mit der linken Maustaste auf die Schaltfläche Navigation öffnet
das Navigationsfenster. Durch Klicken mit der linken Maustaste können
Sie in diesem Fenster die Ansichten Training, Medien
(Defaulteinstellung) oder Technik auswählen. Im Screenshot ist die
Ansicht Medien dargestellt. Alle verfügbaren Medien werden angezeigt.

Verknüpfungen
Wenn Sie die beiden Schaltflächen Navigation und Suche aktiviert
haben, wird unter dem Navigationsfenster das Suchfenster angezeigt. In
der Ansicht Verknüpfungen werden Verknüpfungen zwischen den
Ansichten des Navigationsfensters angezeigt.

4.3.1 Ansicht Technik
Wenn Sie im Navigationsfenster die Ansicht Technik gewählt haben und
in der Gruppe Stationen auf Station Verteilen klicken, werden im
Suchfenster in der Ansicht Verknüpfungen die Verknüpfungen zu den
Aufgaben und Medien angezeigt, die sich mit der Station Verteilen
befassen.

4.3.2 Ansicht Training
Im Navigationsfenster ist die Ansicht Training aktiviert. Aus dem
Bereich Technologien ist das Thema Steuerungen ausgewählt. Im
Suchfenster werden in der Ansicht Verknüpfungen die Dokumente die
sich mit diesem Thema befassen, dargestellt.

Wenn Sie jetzt im Suchfenster ein Dokument auswählen, wird im
Textfenster die Seite des Buchs angezeigt. Wechseln Sie jetzt im
Navigationsfenster auf die Ansicht Medien.

Volltextsuche
Im Mechatronics Assistant ist eine Volltextsuche über die enthaltenen
Medien möglich.

Geben Sie einen oder mehrere Begriffe, mit Leerzeichen getrennt, in das
Suchfeld ein und klicken Sie auf Los!. Sie erhalten eine Liste aller
Seiten, in denen mindestens einer der angegebenen Begriffe auftaucht.

Jeder Begriff wird in der angegebenen Form als ganzes Wort gesucht:
„qualität“ findet nur das Wort „Qualität“, nicht jedoch „Qualitäten“
oder „Qualitätssicherung“. Mit einem Sternchen am Wortende können
Sie nach allen Wörten suchen, die mit dem angegebenen Begriff
beginnen, z.B. „qualität*“ (sogenannte Rechts-Trunkierung).
Sonderzeichen
Suchbar sind alle Begriffe, die aus Buchstaben bestehen (inkl.

Wortliste
Wenn Sie beim Tippen des Suchbegriffs eine kurze Pause machen,
erscheint automatisch eine Liste aller Begriffe, nach denen Sie suchen
können. Dies sind alle für die Suche indizierten Wörter des
Mechatronics Assistant. Sie können den gewünschten Begriff mit den
Pfeil auf/ab-Tasten auswählen und mit der Eingabetaste in das Suchfeld
übernehmen.
Sortierung
Die Ergebnisliste ist nach der Güte der jeweils gelisteten Seite in Bezug
auf Ihre Suchbegriffe sortiert. Eine der Regeln ist beispielsweise, dass
Seiten höher gelistet sind, wenn sie Ihren Suchbegriff mehrfach
enthalten oder wenn sie mehrere Ihrer Begriffe in räumlicher Nähe
enthalten. Seiten, in denen die Begriffe weniger oft oder nicht in
unmittelbarer Nähe auftauchen, erscheinen weiter unten auf der Liste.
Groß-/Kleinschreibung
Die Suche berücksichtigt keine Groß-/Kleinschreibung. Die Suchbegriffe
„qualität“, „Qualität“, „QUALITÄT“ und „QuAlitÄt“ liefern jeweils
dasselbe Ergebnis.
Wort erzwingen
Standardmäßig listet die Suchfunktion alle Seiten, die mindestens
einen der angegebenen Begriffe enthalten. Wenn Sie einem Begriff ein
Pluszeichen voranstellen, werden nur solche Seiten gelistet, die diesen
Begriff auf jeden Fall enthalten. Die Suche „+qualität sicherung
management“ listet alle Seiten, die den Begriff „Qualität“ enthalten;
Seiten in denen zusätzlich „Sicherung“ oder „Management“ auftaucht,
werden weiter oben in der Ergebnisliste angezeigt. (Das Pluszeichen ist
übrigens keine UND-Vernüpfung, d.h. „qualität +sicherung“ findet alle
Seiten mit dem Begriff „Sicherung“, auch wenn der Begriff „Qualität“
dort nicht auftaucht.)

Stellen Sie einem Begriff ein Minuszeichen voran, um Seiten, die diesen
Begriff enthalten, aus der Ergebisliste auszuschließen. Beispielsweise

„Qualitätssicherung“, nicht jedoch Seiten mit dem Begriff „Qualitäten“.
Suche im Seitentitel
Stellen Sie einem Begriff „title:“ voran, wenn Sie diesen Begriff nur in
Seitentiteln finden möchten. Beispielweise findet „title:qualität*“ alle
Seiten, deren Überschrift einen Begriff enthält, der mit „Qualität“
beginnt.
Phrasensuche
Wenn Sie mehrere Begriffe angeben und diese mit Anführungzeichen
umschließen, werden nur Seiten gefunden, die diese Begriffe genau in
dieser Reihenfolge enthalten, beispielweise für die Suche nach
Eigennamen „peter müller“ oder Buchtiteln „einführung in xml“.
Gruppierung
Sie können Suchbegriffe mit runden Klammern gruppieren (auch
geschachtelt), um Ihre Suchanfrage weiter zu präzisieren. Einer
Klammergruppe können Sie Plus- oder Minuszeichen voranstellen.
Beispielweise findet „+qualität +(sicherung management)“ alle Seiten,
die den Begriff „Qualität“ und mindestens einen der Begriffe
„Sicherung“ oder „Qualität“ enthalten.

5.1.1 Fertige Aufgaben
Im Mechatronics Assistant sind sehr viele Medien zu unterschiedlichen
Aufgaben vorhanden. Diese sind als Links bereits in die Aufgaben
integriert. Je nach Vorkenntnis können aber noch zusätzliche Medien
verwendet oder es kann auf Medien verzichtet werden.
Dem Auszubildenden können Ausdrucke und/oder der Mechatronics
Assistant zur Lösung der Aufgabe zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Beispiel
Aufgabe Modul Stapelmagazin – Elektropneumatischer Schaltplan
Das Aufgabenblatt kann ausgedruckt werden. Dazu in das
Aufgabenblatt klicken und über Datei\Drucken ausdrucken.

Arbeiten mit eigenen
Dateien
Der Mechatronics Assistant stellt viele Aufgaben und Unterlagen zur
Verfügung. Diese Unterlagen können sehr einfach durch den Ausbilder
auf die unterschiedlichen Gegebenheiten abgeändert und angepasst
werden.
Geänderte oder neue Unterlagen können im Verzeichnis Meine
Dokumente verwaltet werden.
5.2.1 Erstellen eines Projektverzeichnisses
Im Mechatronics Assistant werden Dateien angezeigt, die sich im
folgenden Verzeichnis auf ihrem Rechner befinden:

Im Mechatronics Assistant werden alle Ordner sowie folgende Dateien

5.2.2 Anpassen und Erstellen von Aufgaben und Arbeitsblättern
Beispiel
Projekt Aufbau und Inbetriebnahme Station Sortieren
Um eine Projektarbeit vorzubereiten, können bestehende Aufgaben
einfach angepasst werden.
Zur Vorbereitung sollen die Auszubildenden Aufgaben zu Komponenten
und Modulen der Station Sortieren bearbeiten. Dazu erstellen wir als
Beispiel eine Aufgabe zum Modul Weiche.
Aufgabe
Modul Weiche – Elektropneumatischer Schaltplan
1. Als Basis verwenden wir die Aufgabe des Stapelmagazins.
2. Öffnen Sie die Arbeitsblätter und ändern Sie sie folgendermaßen ab:
Ersetzen Sie im Text Stapelmagazin durch Weiche.
3. Die Elemente für den Schaltplan können aus dem pneumatischen
Schaltplan der Station Sortieren kopiert werden.
4. Speichern Sie das Arbeitsblatt unter:

Tipps für Profis
5.4.1 Arbeiten mit erweiterter Browserfunktionalität
Der Mechatronics Assistant verwendet einen eigenen voreingestellten
Internet Explorer. Dieser wird in das Verzeichnis Programme\didactic\
Festo Mechatronics Assistant.de\browser.exe installiert.
Ersetzt man diesen durch einen anderen Browser, z.B. den Microsoft®
Internet Explorer, können mehr Browser Funktionen genutzt werden
(z. B. kopieren von Text aus einem HTML Dokument.) Damit lassen sich
Inhalte der HTML Seiten einfacher in eigene Dokumente integrieren.
Gehen Sie hierzu wie folgt vor:
1. Benennen Sie die Datei browser.exe um, z. B. in _browser.exe.
2. Kopieren Sie die Datei iexplore.exe in das Verzeichnis Festo
Mechatronics Assistant.de
3. Benennen Sie die Datei iexplore.exe um in browser.exe.

The Mechatronics Assistant offers you a comprehensive archive with
exercises and the documents, graphics, animations, videos and
presentations required for the solutions.

For training in schools
and industry
1.1.1 Trainer/Instructor
In this pool, trainers/instructors will find everything required for tuition,
tests or project work: Worksheets, exercise sheets, drawings, training
text, solutions, circuit diagrams, videos, courses of instruction, excerpts
from technical documentation, etc. Special information is stored in a
password protected directory.
1.1.2 Trainees
Once they have been set a problem, trainees can work directly with the
Mechatronics Assistant, where they can find everything that is needed

A CD-ROM and this manual are supplied with Mechatronics Assistant.
The software can be installed with online activation. Getting started:
• Switch on your PC and start Microsoft® Windows.
• Insert the Mechatronics Assistant CD ROM into the CD disk drive.
• Click Run in the start menu.
• Enter d:setup.exe to the entry field in the dialogue box which then
appears. Acknowledge your entry by clicking the OK button.
• If your CD ROM disk drive has a designation other than “d:”, the
letter “d” must be replaced with the appropriate designation.

Coding
The contents of the Mechatronics Assistant are coded. De-coding takes
place during run-time via the Offline Server. It is possible to call up the
coded files directly; however no meaningful strings will be displayed on
the screen.
Notes
With the exception of the coding, the files are in the Sources folder.
2.3
Closing
When closing the Browser, the Offline Server will initially continue to
run. A double click on to the task bar symbol causes the Browser to
open again at the start page of the Mechatronics Assistant.

mouse button. Select Exit in the context menu. The Offline Server will
be closed.
The Offline Server is closed automatically when the computer is shut

Set up a subdirectory Festo Mechatronics Assistant in the folder
My documents. This subdirectory is inserted in the sitemap of the
Mechatronics Assistant during run-time. Save your own files in this
subdirectory. You will then have access to these files from the

To open the navigation window, click the Navigation button with the left
mouse button. By clicking with the left mouse button, you can select the

Once you have activated the two buttons Navigation and Search, the
search window is displayed under the navigation window. The
Associations view displays links between the views in the navigation

click onto „Stations” and “Distribution“ in the navigation window, the

Enter one or several terms separated by blank spaces in the search field
and click onto Go!. You will receive a list of all the pages in which at
least one of the terms specified appears.

Each term is searched in the specified form as a whole word: „quality“
only finds the word „Quality“, but not „Qualities“ or „Quality
Assurance“. By adding an asterisk to the end of the word, you can
search for all words starting with the specified term, e.g. „quality*“ (socalled right-trunking).
Special symbols
You can search for any terms consisting of letters (incl. German
Umlauts, letters with accents and letters from the non latin scripts).
Searching for digits, punctuation marks and special symbols is not
possible (e.g. € - + / % § # „ _ $).

Word list
By pausing slightly when entering a search term, a list of all terms which
you can search will automatically be displayed. These are all the words
of the Mechatronics Assistant indexed for searching. You can select the
required term with the Up/Down arrow key and transfer it to the search
field with the Enter key.
Sorting
The results list is sorted according to how good the respective page
listed is in relation to your search words. One of the rules, for instance is
that pages are higher up in the list if they contain your search word
several times or if they contain several of your terms close together.
Pages, where terms occur only seldom or not closely together, appear
further down the list.
Upper/lower case
The search does not take into account upper/lower case. The search
words „quality“, „Quality“, „QUALITy“ and „QuAlitY“ all come up with
the same result.
Word forcing
The search function lists all pages as standard which list at least one of
the terms specified. By prefixing a word with a plus sign, only those
pages are listed, which definitely contain this word. The search
„+quality assurance management“ lists all pages containing the word
„Quality“; pages where „Assurance“ or „Management“ occurs in
addition to this are shown further up on the results list. (The plus sign is
not an AND link, i.e. „quality + assurance“ finds all pages with the term
„Assurance“, even if the term „Quality“ does not occur.)

Word exclusion
By prefixing a term with a minus symbol, you can exclude pages
containing this word from the results list. For instance „quality* qualities“ will find pages with the words „Quality“ and „Quality
Assurance“, but not pages with the term „Qualities“.
Search in page title
Prefixing a term with „title:“ if you want to find this term in page titles
only. For example, „title:quality*“ will find all pages containing a term
starting with „Quality“.
Phrase search
If you specify several terms and enclose these with quotes, only those
pages will be found, which contain these terms in exactly the same
order; for example, the search for proper names „john smith“ or book
titles „introduction in xml“.
Grouping
You can group search words with round brackets (also nested), in order
make a more precise search request. A group of parentheses can be
prefixed with a plus or minus symbol. For example „+quality
+(assurance management)“ will find pages containing the term
„Quality“ and at least one of the terms „Assurance“ or „Quality“.

5.1.1 Complete exercises
A lot of media for different exercises is available within the
Mechatronics Assistant. These media can be easily accessed via a link.
The trainee may use print-outs or the Mechatronics Assistant to solve
the exercises.
Example

Print-out the exercise sheet. To do this, click into the exercise sheet and
then click File/Print.
For preparation of the exercise the brief description of the module
and/or the manual of the Distribution station may be printed.

Mechatronics Assistant provides a lot of exercises and documents. It is
easy for the instructor to change and/or customise these documents for
various needs.
Changed or new documents could be stored in the directory My
documents.
5.2.1 Adding a project directory
Mechatronics Assistant displays files in the directory:

5.4.1 Working with the Microsoft® Internet Explorer
The Mechatronics Assistant uses its own browser. It is installed in the
directory Program files\didactic\ Festo Mechatronics
Assistant.en\browser.exe.
By replacing this browser by the Microsoft® Internet Explorer, more
functions of the browser could be used (e. g. copy text of a HTML
document). The integration of HTML pages into own documents is
easier.
Proceed as follows:
1. Rename the file browser.exe in _browser.exe.
2. Copy the file iexplore.exe into the directory Festo Mechatronics
Assistant.en
3. Rename the file iexplore.exe in browser.exe.

El Mechatronics Assistant (Asistente de Mecatrónica) le ofrece un
amplio sistema de archivos con ejercicios y documentos, gráficos,
animaciones, vídeos y presentaciones necesarias para las soluciones.
1.1
Para la capacitación en
escuelas y en la industria
1.1.1 Entrenador/instructor
Entrenadores e instructores hallarán en este sitio todo lo necesario para
la enseñanza, pruebas y trabajos de proyecto: Hojas de trabajo, de
ejercicios, dibujos, texto de capacitación, soluciones, diagramas de
circuitos, videos, cursos de instrucción, extractos de documentación
técnica, etc. La información especial se encuentra guardada en un
directorio protegido por una clave de acceso.
1.1.2 Alumnos
Una vez planteado el problema, los alumnos pueden trabajar
directamente con el Mechatronics Assistant, en donde pueden
encontrar todo lo que se necesita para resolver el ejercicio planteado.

Instalación
Con Mechatronics Assistant se suministra un CD-ROM y este manual. El
software puede ser instalado con activación online. Preparación para la
instalación:
• Inicie su PC con Microsoft® Windows.
• Inserte el CD-ROM de Mechatronics Assistant en la unidad lectora
de CD-ROM.
• Haga click en Ejecutar, en el menú de Inicio.
• Entre d:setup.exe en el campo de introducción de la ventana de
diálogo que aparece. Confirme su entrada con el botón Aceptar.
• Si su unidad de CD-ROM tienen asignada una letra diferente de
"d:", Deberá reemplazar la letra "d" por la letra adecuada.

del producto. La identificación del producto (ID) es una cadena de 23
caracteres que se halla impresa en la parte posterior de la caja del CD.

Codificación
El contenido de Mechatronics Assistant está codificado. La
decodificación se realiza durante la ejecución a través del Servidor
Offline. Es posible llamar directamente a los archivos codificados;
sin embargo no se visualizarán datos coherentes en la pantalla.
Notas
Con la excepción de la codificación, los archivos se hallan en la carpeta
Fuentes.
2.3
Cierre
Cuando se cierra el navegador, el Servidor Offline inicialmente
continuará funcionando. Un doble click en la barra de tareas hace que
el navegador se abra de nuevo en la página inicial de Mechatronics
Assistant.

Haga click con el botón derecho en el símbolo del Servidor Offline en
la barra de tareas. Seleccione Salir en el menú contextual. El Servidor

Mechatronics Assistant durante la ejecución. Guarde sus propios
archivos en este subdirectorio. Entonces tendrá acceso a estos archivos
desde Mechatronics Assistant.
Se ejecuta lo siguiente:
• Una carpeta Mis documentos se muestra en el nivel superior del
mapa del sitio (en el extremo interior de la lista).
• Los archivos y directorio de Mis documentos/Festo Mechatronics
Assistant son insertados automáticamente en esta carpeta.
• Los archivos de texto (*.doc, *.txt), archivos PDF (*.pdf) y archivos
HTML (*.htm, *.html) son registrados en el mapa del sitio.
• Los otros tipos de archivo, así como los archivos ocultos, no son
tomados en cuenta.
• El nombre de archivo sin extensión sirve como designación.
• El área del mapa del sitio Mis documentos comparte la navegación
estándar. No es posible la búsqueda de textos completos en los
archivos específicos de usuario.

4.2
Navegación
Para abrir la ventana de navegación, haga click en el botón Navegación
con el botón izquierdo del ratón. Haciendo click con el botón derecho
del ratón, puede seleccionar las vistas Capacitación, Medios o
Tecnología en esta ventana. La vista de la pantalla muestra la vista
Medios. Se muestran todas las carpetas de medios disponibles.

Un doble click en el símbolo de una carpeta la abre o la cierra. Un click
en el símbolo + frente a un libro abre el libro.

Asociaciones
Una vez haya activado los dos botones Navegación y Búsqueda,
aparece la ventana de búsqueda bajo la ventana de navegación. La vista
Asociaciones muestra los enlaces entre las vistas y la ventana de
navegación.

4.3.1 Vista Tecnología
Si ha seleccionado la vista Tecnología en la ventana de navegación y
hace click en “Estaciones” y “Distribución“ en la ventana de
navegación, la ventana de búsqueda en la vista Asociaciones muestra
los enlaces a los ejercicios y medios que tratan con la estación de
Distribución.

4.3.2 Vista Capacitación
La vista Capacitación se activa en la ventana de navegación. En el
ejemplo se ha seleccionado el tema Controladores del campo
Tecnologías. La vista Asociaciones en la ventana de búsqueda muestra
los documentos que tratan con este tema.

Si ahora selecciona un documento en la ventana de búsqueda, la
ventana de navegación cambia automáticamente a la vista Medios
y se muestra la página del libro en la ventana de texto.

concerniente al medio contenido.

4.4.1 Funciones de búsqueda
Introduzca uno o varios términos separados por espacios en el campo
de búsqueda y haga click en Ir!. Recibirá una lista de todas las páginas
en las que aparece por lo menos uno de los términos especificados.

Coincidencia de Palabras
Cada termino tiene que coincidir con el tema: administrador solo
encuentra "administrador" pero no "administración". El asterisco
puede ser utilizado como carácter comodín cuando se realice búsqueda
de palabras incompletas. Por ejemplo adminis* encontrará
"administrador" y "administración".
Caracteres Especiales
Algunas palabras tienen acentos o caracteres especiales por ejemplo: à,
ä, etc. Caracteres especiales y puntuaciones tales como € - + / % . § #"_
no pueden ser buscados.

Lista de Palabras
Cuando se comience con la búsqueda de una palabra, después de una
breve pausa el sistema mostrará una lista de palabras que coinciden
con la palabra buscada. Estas son todas las palabras del Mechatronics
Assistant indexadas para la búsqueda. Usted puede elegir cualquiera
de las palabras propuestas como la palabra buscada solo haciendo
doble-click sobre ésta.
Clasificación
Los resultados buscados serán seleccionados de acuerdo a su
relevancia. Múltiples coincidencias de palabras buscadas del mismo
tema se mostrarán en orden de importancia. Mientras más cercanas
estén las coincidencias una con otra con relación al tema, el tema será
clasificado con mayor grado de importancia. Una de las reglas, por
ejemplo, es que las páginas que se hallan más arriba en la lista
contienen varias veces la palabra que busca o contienen varios de los
términos cercanos. Las páginas en la que los términos aparecen poco
o no se hallan cerca, aparecen hacia el final de la lista.
Mayúsculas/minúsculas
La búsqueda de palabras no toma en cuenta las palabras mayúsculas y
minúsculas, por lo tanto, la búsqueda de palabras tales como calidad,
Calidad, CALIDAD o CaLidAd presentará los mismos resultados.
Forzado de palabras
La función de búsqueda muestra normalmente todas las páginas que
contienen por lo menos una vez el término especificado. Anteponiendo
el signo + a la palabra, sólo se indican aquellas páginas que contienen
verdaderamente esta palabra. Por ejemplo buscando "administración
+calidad" el resultado mostrará todas las páginas que contienen la
palabra "calidad", además de las páginas en las que aparece
“administración” y éstas serán mostradas en la lista de resultados.

Exclusión de palabras
Para excluir una palabra en la búsqueda, utilice el signo "-" colocándolo
enfrente de la palabra buscada. El resultado mostrará solo temas que
no contienen la palabra que se desea excluir. adminis* -calidad
mostrará temas que contengan "administrador" o "administración"
pero no los temas que contengan "calidad".
Búsqueda de Títulos
Utilice título: para restringir la búsqueda del tema solo en el título de
los documentos. título: adminis* mostrará todos los documentos que
contengan "adminis" o "administración" en el título.
Búsqueda de Frases
Si especifica varios términos y los encierra entre comillas, sólo se
mostrarán aquellas páginas que contengan los términos indicados
en el mismo orden; por ejemplo: "administración de la calidad".
Agrupaciones
Para agrupar palabras de búsqueda, encierre las palabras entre
paréntesis. Los grupos de palabras también pueden ser anidados y/o
prefijados con un signo de "+" o "-". +calidad +(administración de
procesos) mostrará todos los temas que contengan al menos la palabra
"calidad" y cualquiera de las dos palabras restantes "administración"
o "procesos".

5. Creación de sus propios archivos
5.1
Utilización de
5.1.1 Ejercicios completos
En Mechatronics Assistant dispone de una gran cantidad de medios
para diferentes ejercicios. Puede acceder fácilmente a estos medios por
medio de un enlace.
El alumno puede utilizar hojas impresas o el Mechatronics Assistant
para resolver sus ejercicios.

Ejercicio Módulo Almacén Apilador – Diagrama de Circuito
Electroneumático
Imprima la hoja de ejercicio. Para ello, haga click en la hoja de ejercicio
y haga click en Archivo/Imprimir.
Para la preparación del ejercicio puede imprimirse la breve descripción
del módulo, el manual de la Estación de Distribución, o ambos.
En Mechatronics Assistant hay información adicional:
• Cilindro DSNU (ficha técnica)
• Estación de Distribución (vídeo)
• Válvulas neumáticas (fundamentos)

5.2
Trabajo con archivos
propios
Mechatronics Assistant ofrece muchos ejercicios y documentos. Es fácil
para el instructor cambiar y/o personalizar estos documentos para las
diferentes necesidades.
Los documentos nuevos o modificados pueden guardarse en el
directorio Mis documentos.
5.2.1 Añadir un directorio de proyectos
Mechatronics Assistant visualiza los archivos en el directorio:
Escritorio\Mis documentos\Festo Mechatronics Assistant
Se muestran todos los archivos y directorios con las siguientes
extensiones:
• *.pdf
• *.doc
• *.htm
Es fácil guardar otros archivos como *.htm.

5.2.2 Creación de hojas de trabajo y de ejercicios
Ejemplo
Proyecto de montaje y puesta en marcha de la Estación de
Clasificación
Para la preparación del trabajo de proyecto, utilice los ejercicios
existentes y modifíquelos.
Los alumnos deberían trabajar en ejercicios que trataran con los
componentes y módulos de la Estación de Clasificación. Como ejemplo;
ejercicio Módulo de Derivación.
Ejercicio
Módulo de Derivación – Diagrama de Circuito Electroneumático
1. Utilice el ejercicio del Módulo Almacén Apilador.
2. Abra las hojas de trabajo y cambie:
Sustituya Almacén apilador por Derivación.
3. Para el diagrama del circuito, copie las partes del diagrama del
circuito neumático de la Estación de Clasificación.
4. Guarde la hoja de trabajo:
Mis documentos\Festo Mechatronics Assistant\1_Proyectos\

Como introducción al proyecto de la Estación de Clasificación,
es posible utilizar:
• Una presentación con imágenes y gráficos de la estación y los

Las actualizaciones y los nuevos proyectos para Mechatronics Assistant
pueden descargarse de la página inicial de Festo Didactic.
Cree una nueva carpeta en el directorio Mis documentos\Festo
Mechatronics Assistant y descomprima los documentos descargados.
5.4
Sugerencias para usuarios
avanzados
5.4.1 Trabajar con Microsoft® Internet Explorer
Mechatronics Assistant utiliza su propio navegador. Se halla instalado
en el directorio Archivos de programa\didactic\ Festo Mechatronics
Assistant.en\browser.exe.
Sustituyendo este navegador por el Microsoft® Internet Explorer,
podrá utilizar más funciones para navegar (p. ej. copiar texto de un
documento HTML). La integración de páginas HTML en documentos
propios es más fácil.
Proceda como sigue:
1. Renombre el archivo browser.exe como _browser.exe.
2. Copie el archivo iexplore.exe en el directorio Festo Mechatronics
Assistant.en
3. Renombre el archivo iexplore.exe como browser.exe.

5.4.2 Ajustes de Microsoft® Internet Explorer
En Microsoft® Internet Explorer hay que activar la opción No usar
servidor proxy para direcciones locales.
1. Seleccione Herramientas – Opciones de Internet...
