IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Star District: Meet the quotas that appear on
your Insurance and Membership report and
earn the Star District Award. This is the last year
in which you can earn Star District without any
councils in your district earning the Star Council
Award. The award includes a plaque and a
lapel pin with the number stars to reflect the
number of Star councils in your district. If all of
your active councils earn one of the levels of the
Star Council Award, you earn the All Star District
Award.
Plan and conduct at least one First Degree, per
District, per Month to help councils in your
district earn the Star Council Award and please
submit the District Deputy’s Degree
Exemplification Report (#450).
Between January 1 and June 30, 2015, for
every new council, reactivated council or
reinstituted council in a district, the district
deputy receives 10,000 VIP points. One
thousand VIP are equivalent to $6.00 and these
points can be redeemed for merchandise on
knightsgear.com.
The District Deputy Reminder can be emailed to
you on a monthly basis. Please send an e-mail
to [email protected] requesting your email address
be added to the distribution list.
T
CELEBRATE FOUNDERS’ DAY
he Order celebrates its 133rd birthday on
March 29. It was on this day that the State of
Connecticut recognized a group of Catholic
men, led by Father McGivney, as a new
organization dedicated to living the ideal of charity
and to helping people in need.
In honor of this day, encourage councils in your
district to celebrate our founding by sponsoring a
special Mass and conducting a First Degree
exemplification. Another way for councils to mark
our founding is to conduct a charitable service
project during the week in which March 29 falls in
honor of Father McGivney.
2015 NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE —
CANADA
Help build a Culture of Life by joining tens of
thousands of Canadians for the National March for
Life in Ottawa on Thursday, May 14, 2015.
An estimated 23,000 Canadians marched last year.
Join the March to make this year’s March for Life
even bigger! Has your council considered chartering
a bus to bring council members and their families,
parishioners, and school children to the March?
Since its legalization 1969, four million Canadian
unborn babies have been killed by abortion, with
approximately 100,000 babies expected to be
harmed
by
abortion
this
year
(Campaignlifecoalition.com). Knights in Canada –
