INSTITUTIONAL PRESENTATION www.peretarres.org PERE TARRÉS FOUNDATION INSTITUTIONAL PRESENTATION WHO WE ARE A non-profit, educational and social action entity, established in 1957 in the framework of Càritas, aiming to promote education of children and young people through leisure. Over time, its activities have extended into other areas, such as training, research and management support. MISSION The promotion of the person by means of education, especially through leisure, and social action based on Christian humanism values. They are the latest victims of today’s actual crisis. They are mired in a situation of social exclusion. The educational programs of the Pere Tarrés Foundation make possible the social integration of these infants and young people, which live in a family environment with difficulties and present emotional, sanitary and educational deficiencies. INCLUSIVE ESPLAI “In the esplai, every afternoon when we arrive from school, we have a snack and we do our homework with the monitor. If I didn’t go to the esplai in the afternoons, I would be at home watching TV”. GRANTS FOR CAMPS IN THE SCHOOL “Grants for school camps allow the schools and the children to continue attending camps, guaranteeing the rights of the children acquiring education through leisure and entertainment”. More than 80 recipients of the Paidos Project consisting in social educational and therapeutic care to families with children from 0 to 6 years in a situation of poverty. 130 young people from a migrant background, in a situation of social risk, from different European countries in the YouthMe Project consisting in empowerment through participatory videos. 2.000 teachers taking part in gender-based violence prevention programs in schools.
