In order to have an event such as this there are three factors that must come together. A dedicated committee to organize the event. Generous individuals and businesses to provide the merchandise. You as buyers to support the charities and groups that are the beneficiaries. We feel that these factors are present to insure a successful dinner. Your Board of Directors wish to especially thank all the generous donors to the event. As you know, BASA is a non-profit organization, however each individual’s situation is unique; therefore we suggest that you seek counsel of your tax preparer or accountant as to treatment of your expenditures. Upon completion of the event and after all of the expenses are paid, your Board of Directors will allocate the proceeds to a variety of causes with emphasis on keeping the money local. If you have suggestions with this regard, please let a Board Member know. The caterer has made alcoholic beverages available. Should you consume please use a designated driver for your group or use the services of The Shuttle or a taxi which is available throughout the evening. Please Do Not Drink and Drive. Raffle winners and auction purchasers of firearms will be required to complete an FFL form this evening prior to taking possession. Throughout the program you will find explanations of the various events of the evening. Please take a few moments to page through so you’re familiar with the ground rules as we are planning a fast-paced evening. Thank you for your attendance. We hope you enjoy this evening’s program. Dear Member, Each year your Executive Board has the difficult, but enjoyable task of allocating proceeds of this banquet. Soon after everything is totaled up from this year’s dinner, the grant application period will open. Legal notices appear in The World Newspaper and all Board Members solicit applications. Since the beginning, we have attempted to maximize donations to groups and organizations, primarily local, with an emphasis on outdoor recreation and youth. Stronger considerations has been given to requests for capital expenditures, as opposed to working capital requests. We attempt to fund only those groups that benefit or represent the best interest of the majority of our general membership. If you have any questions regarding past funding or have suggestions for future donations, please do not hesitate to contract any member of the Executive Board. An application for 2016 grants is on the next page. Additional copies may be obtained at www.basainc.org or by writing to BASA, P.O. Box 1624, Coos Bay, OR 97420.
