Verbinden.

kative Wesen. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte haben sie immer
neue Wege gefunden, zusammen zu kommen, Kontakte
zu knüpfen und Waren zu tauschen. Die traditionsreichste
Form dafür sind Messen.
Die neuen sozialen Netzwerke decken dieselben Grund
bedürfnisse nach Information, Kommunikation und Gemein
schaft in den digitalen Medien ab. Aber sie ersetzen nicht
den direkten Kontakt. Denn während das World Wide
Web die Möglichkeit bietet, virtuell mit Vielen und auch
Unbekannten zu kommunizieren, liegt es im Wesen der
Messen, dass sich Menschen direkt begegnen und Produkte
1:1 erfahren.
Dieses unmittelbare Erleben macht Messen einzigartig.
Der anhaltende Erfolg bestätigt uns in dieser Überzeugung:
2011 hat die Messe Frankfurt weltweit 101 Messen und
Ausstellungen ausgerichtet, die mehr als 67.000 Aussteller
mit rund 3,3 Millionen Besuchern miteinander verbunden
haben. Dazu tragen wir unsere Kompetenz in die digitalen
Netzwerke hinein, indem wir auch dort Plattformen für
internationale Communities schaffen. Treffen Sie uns

oder Youtube – wie auch in Frankfurt sowie in mehr als
150 Ländern der Welt.

Connecting people.
People are by nature inquisitive and communicative beings.
Over the centuries they have continuously found new ways to
come together, establish contacts and exchange goods. Trade
fairs offer the most traditional forum for this.
Although the new social networks answer the same basic
need for information, communication and community via
digital media, they are no substitute for direct contact. While
the World Wide Web offers the possibility to communicate
with many – even strangers – in virtual space, it is an integral
part of trade fairs that people interact directly and experience
products one-to-one.
It’s this hands-on experience that makes trade fairs so unique.
Our continued success reinforces this conviction: in 2011,
Messe Frankfurt staged 101 trade fairs and exhibitions
worldwide, bringing together over 67,000 exhibitors and
3.3 million visitors. Above and beyond this, we make our
competence available on digital networks by setting up
platforms for international communities. So why not meet

Youtube – in Frankfurt as well as in over 150 countries
around the world.

Jedes Netzwerk hat einen Ausgangspunkt, von dem aus es
wächst und gedeiht. Für unsere Messen ist dies Frankfurt.
Hier nehmen unsere Marken ihren Anfang, von hier aus
spannen sie ihre Netze um die Welt – und hier laufen auch
alle Fäden wieder zusammen. Branchenhighlights wie unsere
internationalen Fachmessen Ambiente, Automechanika,
Heimtextil oder Light & Building, aber auch Gastveranstaltungen wie die IAA, die Buchmesse und die Achema
verdeutlichen die Dimension dieser internationalen
Communities: 2011 fanden am Messeplatz Frankfurt
insgesamt 37 Messen und Fachausstellungen statt.
Insgesamt begrüßten wir rund 37.038 Aussteller und mehr als
2,2 Millionen Besucher. Mit Veranstaltungen wie der
Texprocess, den M-Days oder der Voice+IP bieten wir immer
wieder neuen Branchen und zukunftsweisenden Themen eine
Plattform und stärken damit den Heimatstandort Frankfurt.

Growing and prospering.
Every network has a starting point from which it grows and
prospers. For our trade fairs this is Frankfurt. This is where our
brands are born, from here they extend their networks around
the globe – and this is where all strands of the network come
together again. Industry highlights such as our international
Ambiente, Automechanika, Heimtextil or Light & Building trade
fairs, as well as guest events like the International Motor Show
(IAA), the Frankfurt Book Fair and Achema underscore the
dimension of these international communities, with as many
as 37 trade fairs and trade exhibitions held at the Frankfurt
venue in 2011. All in all, we welcomed some 37,038 exhibitors
and more than 2.2 million visitors. With events like Texprocess,
the M-Days or Voice+IP, we regularly offer new sectors
and forward-looking topics a platform and at the same time
enhance our Frankfurt home venue. Contact details from

Messe Frankfurt in über 150 Ländern mit 28 Tochtergesell
schaften, fünf Niederlassungen und 52 internationalen
Vertriebspartnern vertreten. Das Ergebnis dieser Teamarbeit
im Jahr 2011 sind insgesamt 64 Messen und Ausstellungen
außerhalb Frankfurts. Mit 30.241 Ausstellern präsentierten
sich dort so viele Firmen wie noch nie. Wir sind da, wo neue
Märkte, Themen und Branchen entstehen. Diese generieren
wir aus unseren Kernkompetenzfeldern „Consumer Goods &
Leisure“, „Entertainment Media & Creation“, „Textiles &
Textile Technologies“, „Technology & Production“ sowie
„Mobility & Infrastructure“.

Spanning the world.
Hosting trade fairs means working in networks. That’s why
Messe Frankfurt is present in over 150 countries with
28 subsidiaries, five branch offices and 52 international Sales
Partners. The result of this teamwork in 2011 was a total of
64 trade fairs and exhibitions outside Frankfurt. With 30,241
exhibitors, these attracted the highest number of companies
to date. We are present where new markets, topics and
industries are emerging. These topics are generated from our
core competence segments “Consumer Goods & Leisure“,
“Entertainment Media & Creation”, “Textiles & Textile
Technologies”, “Technology & Production” and “Mobility &
Infrastructure”.

unnötig. Denn die einzigartige Atmosphäre der „Gudd
Stubb“, wie die Frankfurter Fangemeinde liebevoll sagt,
macht Konzerte und andere Events zu einem einmaligen
gemeinschaftlichen Ereignis. Sie ist unser traditionelles
Glanzstück und eine Verwandlungskünstlerin der besonderen
Art: Unter ihrem inzwischen über 100 Jahre alten Kuppeldach
wird sie je nach Anlass zur Konzerthalle, Sportarena, GalaLocation oder Tagungsstätte. Neben ihr bieten aber auch
unsere modernen Hallen und Freiflächen das besondere
Etwas: So kamen 2011 mehr als eine halbe Million Gäste
auf das Messegelände zu insgesamt 79 Events, darunter
Klassiker wie dem Internationalen Festhallenreitturnier,
dem BMW Frankfurt Marathon, aber auch zu außergewöhn
lichen Firmenevents wie von VW, Thomas Cook, der DVAG
und der Deutschen Bahn.

Experiencing the best.
When stars like Udo Lindenberg, the Scorpions, Lionel
Richie, Andrea Berg or Jay-Z and Kanye West take to the
stage in the Festhalle (festival hall), every word about
community becomes superfluous. For the unique atmosphere
of Frankfurt’s “Gudd Stubb” (or “Best Room”), as it is fondly
known to local fans, turns concerts and other events into
exceptional community happenings. The Festhalle is our
traditional showpiece and a veritable multitalent: rising to any
occasion, the auditorium beneath the 100-year-old domed
roof becomes a concert hall, sports arena, gala location or
conference hall. But in addition to the Festhalle, our modern
halls and outside spaces also have a special flair: in 2011,
over half a million guests attended a total of 79 events
at the exhibition grounds, ranging from classics like the
International Festhalle Riding Tournament, the BMW
Frankfurt Marathon, to exceptional corporate events staged
by companies including VW, Thomas Cook, DVAG and
Deutsche Bahn.
