MEMBERSHIP
Our annual membership drive for the
2012-2013 fiscal year will kick off in May 2013.
This important activity establishes the member
base for the association and as the chapter
continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming
new alumni and renewing friendships with our
returning members. We are encouraging alumni
to pay before the start of our fiscal year which
begins July 1, 2013. Members have the option of
paying for multiple years or becoming a life
member. Local chapter dues are $25 a year,
national dues are $50 year and life membership
for the local chapter is $500. All dues can be
paid through the Metro DC Alumni Chapter. The
Century Club memberships are available for a
generous donation of $100 or more.
The Metro DC Alumni Chapter is very active and
does everything from providing scholarships to
local students, supporting the University, to
holding social events for the alumni. Your yearly
membership dues will increase the number and
the value to local area students to attend NCCU
as well as make it possible to be involved in
national and local activities the support our Alma
Mater. This year we look for to expanding social
and scholarship events.
Membership dues are our only source of
operating funds which are used for space rental,
regional and national alumni assessments,
summer cookout, holiday party, tailgates,
student visits, Maroon and Gray Day, college
fairs, newsletters, cost for mailings, website
fees, and special requests from the university.
We do all of this with about 200 paid members.
With more than 1,400 NCCU Alumni in the metro
DC area, imagine what we could do if more paid
their local dues.
In this newsletter, you will find a membership
form to fill out and return to become a member,
you do not have to wait for the new fiscal year.
You can also join and/or update your
membership online at www.nccudc.org.
We appreciate your support and look forward to
seeing you at upcoming events.
