am Rathausplatz zum Einklang ins Neue
Jahr und selbstverständlich auch zur
Live-Übertragung des Neujahrskonzerts der Wiener Philharmoniker,
dirigiert von Franz Welser-Möst.
Musikalisch abgerundet wird das
Programm von dem Damenorchester Rondo Vienna und
den Kaiserjägern.

Here, the New Year is celebrated with
joyful abandon from 2 p.m. onwards.
Events kick off with Music Box and the
legendary Radio Wien Band. In between,
the DJ provides evocative musical interludes on the last afternoon of the year. This
is followed by the Saturday D.I.S.C.O. Fever
Line, and the Madonna Cover Show “Like a
Virgin”, before the Divas of Pop and the Blues
Brothers Are Back let rip. (2 p.m. to 2 a.m.)
On New Year’s Day, the Silvester Market at the Rathausplatz once again
invites visitors to harmonise with the New Year mood and, of course, to
enjoy the live transmission of the New Year’s Concert, performed by the
Vienna Philharmonic and conducted by Franz Welser-Möst.
The programme will be rounded off with music performed by the Rondo
Vienna women’s orchestra and the Kaiserjäger.

floor’s seething — it’s time to dance
As well as the 98.3 Superfly Radio pop charts,
“Vienna’s Soulful Radiostation” offers funk, jazz,
disco, house and, above all, soul — with the Superfly DJ
Collective, from 2 p.m. onwards. The Superfly music specialists are thereby able to show, with a great deal of love and
enthusiasm, that soul is timeless and always up-to-date.
Ramon, followed by The Shadoo Project, also tie in here. As the
highlight of the evening, the Superfly Radio Orchestra will be performing. Here, crisp beats, compelling percussion, juicy basslines, soulful keys, funky guitar licks, a whole range of vocals and

dove naturalmente si potrà assistere alla trasmissione dal vivo del Concerto di Capodanno, eseguito dalla

The Silvester Path is a unique New Year festival held in
Vienna. Hundreds of thousands of Viennese and tourists from
all over the world have been unable to resist the magic of the
Vienna Silvester Path over the past few years — and it’s going to
be just the same again this year.
Dozens of artistic performers, a wide variety of cuisine and an
exciting musical programme offer an unforgettable transition to
the New Year 2011 in gorgeous Vienna — starting at the Festmeile
(“Festive Mile”) in Vienna city centre, and going all the way to the
Wiener Prater Park.
No matter whether you’d rather ring in the New Year with
classical music at the new metro station at Stephansplatz, the
festive fireworks display at the Heldenplatz, or the transmission
of the New Year’s Concert at the Rathausplatz on New Year’s Day
morning — at all events, I wish you a happy and peaceful 2011.

Con il suo Sentiero di San Silvestro, Vienna offre una festa
per la Notte di Capodanno unica al mondo. In tutti questi anni

il mondo non hanno potuto che cedere al fascino del Sentiero di
San Silvestro. Sarà così anche quest’anno.
Dozzine di artisti, una moltitudine di locali gastronomici e
un eccitante programma musicale sono gli ingredienti di quella
che sarà una Notte di Capodanno 2011 indimenticabile, vissuta
nella nostra meravigliosa Vienna, a cominciare dall’itinerario
fantasiosamente decorato che si snoderà nel centro storico della
città e per finire con il Prater di Vienna.
Accogliete l’Anno Nuovo nel nuovo punto d’incontro, all’insegna
della musica classica, che sarà allestito in piazza Santo Stefano
o andate nella Heldenplatz a vedere il grande spettacolo di fuochi
d’artificio, recandovi magari la mattina dopo in Piazza del Municipio
per assistere in diretta al Concerto di Capodanno. Auguro a ognuno

How Vienna moves and lives
From 2 p.m. onwards, the motto is “All Waltz” at the popular join-in
waltz dance classes offered by the Vienna dancing schools, before
the Wienerwald Musikanten fill the square with their music. Next, to set
the mood on the last evening of 2010, it’s time for Viennese songs and
operetta hits. You can enter the world of the musical with the Ensemble
Kaiserwalzer and then enjoy the most beautiful operetta melodies. After
the Blue Danube Waltz at midnight, go on dancing with the Rondo Vienna
Women’s Band. (2 p.m. to 2 a.m.) The Mint of Austria will be ceremonially
ringing in 2011 with the “Pummerin” — the new 5-Euro coin. Valuable
because it’s “hand-lifted” and made of silver, it makes an excellent New
Year’s gift and lucky charm — along with many other products to be found
at the Mint of Austria’s stand at the Stephansplatz, opposite the Cathedral.

Alle 14 inizieranno all’insegna del rituale annuncio “Alles Walzer”
[“Valzer per tutti”] i corsi di valzer molto attesi delle scuole di ballo
viennesi, cui potrà partecipare chiunque, dopodiché sarà la volta dei
Musicisti del Wienerwald. Per preparare gli animi a quella che
sarà l’ultima sera dell’anno echeggeranno in piazza Santo
Stefano i canti viennesi e i successi operettistici più famosi.
Successivamente sarà di scena l’Ensemble Kaiserwalzer
che accompagnerà i visitatori nel mondo del musical
ed eseguirà stupende melodie operettistiche. Dopo il
Valzer al Bel Danubio Blu, le cui note spiccheranno il
volo alla mezzanotte, si potrà continuare a ballare con
l’orchestra femminile Rondo Vienna (dalle 14 alle 2).
Il 2011 sarà celebrato anche dalla ditta Münze Österreich
che per l’occasione ha creato la Pummerin, una nuova
moneta da 5 Euro di grande valore perché in argento
e “fatta a mano”, idonea, insieme a tanti altri prodotti,
come regalo di Capodanno e portafortuna. La moneta è in
vendita allo stand della Münze Österreich in piazza Santo
Stefano, di fronte al Duomo.
Der Graben verwandelt sich in der Nacht zum Jahreswechsel wieder in

man mit dem Ensemble Kaiserwalzer und genießt danach die schönsten
Operettenmelodien. Tanzen Sie nach dem Donauwalzer um 0 Uhr weiter

Auch die Münze Österreich läutet 2011 feierlich ein – mit der Pummerin, der
neuen 5-Euro-Münze. Hochwertig weil „Handgehoben“ und aus Silber ist sie
neben vielen anderen Produkten Silvestergeschenk und Glücksbringer. Zu finden am Stand der Münze Österreich am Stephansplatz gegenüber vom Dom.
Die Arabella-Karaoke-Show für die ganze Familie macht bis 18.30 Uhr
die richtige Stimmung für die Silvesternacht. Chuck Dale & The Falcons
erwärmen ab 19 Uhr Ihr Herz mit Rock’n’Roll, gefolgt von 5 in Love, die
mit Musik der „Swinging Forties“ mit unglaublicher Spielfreude an Swing
und Boogie faszinieren. Wiener Wahnsinn steht mit dem perfekten Mix aus

Einmal ein Orchester selber dirigieren? Mit dem „Virtuellen Dirigenten“
wird dies im Haus der Musik möglich. Die Besucher stehen vor einer
großen Videoprojektion und sehen das berühmte Orchester der Wiener
Philharmoniker im Goldenen Saal des Wiener Musikvereins, wo sie auch
Werke des Neujahrskonzertes, wie den Donau-Walzer dirigieren können. Im Museum der Wiener Philharmoniker lässt sich außerdem die
Geschichte des Neujahrskonzertes entdecken. (14.00 bis 22.00)
Conductor for an evening
As part of the Silvester Path, the Haus der Musik is offering
free admission from 2 to 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
You’d like to conduct the orchestra yourself, just for once?
It’s possible in the Haus der Musik, thanks to its “Virtual
Conductors” programme. Visitors stand in front of a large video
projection and watch the famous orchestra of the Vienna Philharmonic in the Golden Room of the Wiener Musikverein, where they
can also conduct works from the New Year’s Concert, such as the Blue
Danube Waltz. In addition, visitors can also find out all about the history
of the New Year’s Concert at the Museum der Wiener Philharmoniker.

L’ingresso alla Casa della Musica, in quanto parte del Sentiero di
San Silvestro, sarà libero dalle 14 alle 22. Vi sarebbe piaciuto
qualche volta dirigere voi stessi un’orchestra? Con il “direttore d’orchestra
virtuale” nella Casa della Musica questo vi sarà possibile. Basta che vi
mettiate davanti alla grande videoproiezione su cui vedrete la celebre
Orchestra della Filarmonica di Vienna nella Sala Dorata del Musikverein di
Vienna. Potrete così dirigere varie opere, fra cui il Concerto di Capodanno
e il Valzer al Bel Danubio Blu. Nel Museo della Filarmonica di Vienna, inoltre,
potrete conoscere la storia del Concerto di Capodanno (dalle 14 alle 22).

Prima dello scoccare della mezzanotte, in tempo per salutare
l’Anno Nuovo, non c’è niente di meglio che trovarsi nella Heldenplatz.
Il Capodanno qui viene festeggiato con brio. Lo spettacolo pirotecnico
del Sentiero di San Silvestro “ballerà” sul centro storico di Vienna a
tempo di tre quarti, sulle note del Valzer al Bel Danubio Blu. E chi ha
voglia di fare qualche piroetta a tempo di valzer nella vicina Hofburg farà
bene a non perdersi il 41° Ballo Imperiale che si svolgerà nelle sale di

Le canzoni migliori degli Anni Settanta, Ottanta e Novanta: è il programma scelto dai “Die 2”, alias Wolfgang Laab e Marco Weichselbraun & Band, per far rimbombare il palcoscenico dell’emittente 88.6. L’Anno
Nuovo sarà accolto da percussionisti brasiliani che suoneranno accompagnati da variopinte ballerine di samba. Dopodiché toccherà a José Ritmo
& Cacao dar fuoco alle micce con un travolgente repertorio di musica sudamericana. Il clou della serata sarà costituito da uno splendido spettacolo
pirotecnico con musica sincronizzata. L’Anno Nuovo arriverà fra una folla
danzante al ritmo della musica del sud e di moderni hip-hop sound. Dopo
un fantastico show le ballerine mostreranno passo per passo come funziona.

Silvesternacht
Auch dieses Jahr werden wieder mehr als 200 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Wiener Linien im Nachteinsatz sein, um die Fahrgäste sicher in
den ersten Tag des neuen Jahres zu geleiten.
Anstelle des gewohnten Nachtverkehrs werden die Wiener Linien ein
spezielles Angebot für die Nacht zum Jahreswechsel auf die Beine stellen.
In der Silversternacht vom 31. 12. 2010 auf 1.1. 2011 werden alle U-Bahn-Linien
und viele Straßenbahn- und Autobuslinien im Anschluss an den Tagesverkehr
die ganze Nacht bis zum Betriebsbeginn des 1.1.2011 verkehren.
Folgende U-Bahn-,Straßenbahn- und Autobuslinien werden in der Nacht vom
31. Dezember auf den 1. Jänner in Betrieb sein:
U1, U2, U3, U4 und U6
D, 1, 2, 6, 18, 26, 31, 38, 41, 43, 46, 49, 58, 60, 62, 67 und 71
23A, 26A, 29A, 35A, 66A, 68A, 73A, 77A
Die Intervalle des Silvesternachtverkehrs betragen in der Regel 15 Minuten.
Viele Linien – wie zum Beispiel U-Bahn-Linien, aber auch eine ganze Reihe
stark frequentierter Straßenbahnlinien – werden allerdings auch in kürzeren Intervallen unterwegs sein. Die Linien 68A, 73A und 77A verkehren alle
30 Minuten.
Zusätzlich zu diesem seit vielen Jahren gut angenommenen Angebot verkehren die Nacht-ASTAX-Linien N23, N61 und
N90,um die an diesen Linien gelegenenWohngebiete zu erschließen.
