MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR It has been said by a noted anthropologist that “the pa ern of the future is change.” All we have to do is look around to see the truth of that statement. Things are changing, some mes so fast that we are hard‐pressed to keep up. We realize, however, that we must try, or society will leave us behind. The students of today will be the ci zens of tomorrow. To send a child into that world unprepared for what he or she will encounter would be disastrous! I believe that the schools recognize this and are doing their very best to see to it that our students will be able to meet the challenges of the future in every way. Today the job market is becoming more and more selec ve. Tomorrow will bring jobs that require specific knowledge and will need specialized professionals to fill those posi ons. Consequently, today students are taking courses that cover what careers are available, what each requires in terms of educa on and experience, and the personal fulfillment and rewards that the job brings. The change that comes is inevitable. It is the schools of this na on, in close and vital coopera on with our parents, that will assume the job of educa ng today’s children. Working together, we can prepare our children to face that world armed with the knowledge, the skills and the courage they will need. Working together, we can give our children the future, and it will be bright, indeed! — Ruth LaValle When you are studying for final exams, create index cards with the most important concepts. Be sure to review those cards six mes, including once right before the test.
