Abwicklung von Erdgas-Season-Futures
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
ab 04.Mai 2009 bietet die ECC Clearing-Dienstleistungen für Termingeschäfte über ErdgasSeason-Futures an, welche an der EEX bzw. ENDEX abgeschlossen werden.
Mit diesem Schreiben möchten wir Sie über das Produktsetup, die Abwicklung der neuen Produkte
(Kaskadierung), das Margining und über die geplante Simulation informieren.
1. Produktsetup
Die an der ENDEX bzw. EEX handelbaren Season-Futures auf Erdgas werden wie folgt im Clearing-System der ECC (EUREX) aufgesetzt:

TTF Gas Base Load Season Future
Für offene Positionen in Season-Futures wird täglich eine Variation Margin abgerechnet. Die hierfür benötigten täglichen Abrechnungspreise werden von der EEX bzw. ENDEX ermittelt und im
Clearing-System der ECC gegen 18:00 Uhr veröffentlicht.
In der Anlage erhalten Sie die ECC-Clearingspezifikation sowie eine CSV-Datei mit den Kontraktdetails, die zusammenfassend alle notwendigen Produktinformationen für Ihre Vorbereitungen
enthalten.
Mit Einführung der TTF Gas Base Load Season Futures wird ECC die an der ENDEX abgeschlossen Geschäfte in Season-Futures nicht mehr wie bisher, als zwei Quartals-Futures zum Clearing
registrieren. Bitte beachten Sie, dass historische Geschäfte nicht in die neuen Season-Futures überführt werden können.
Das Setup von Season-Futures im ECC-System zur Registrierung von an der Powernext abgeschlossenen Geschäften in Season-Futures ist vorerst nicht vorgesehen. Hier erfolgt die Registrierung der Geschäfte unverändert in den zugrundeliegenden Quartals-Futures.
2. Expiry / Kaskadierung
Seasons-Futures verfallen im EUREX-System am gleichen Tag, wie die jeweiligen QuartalsFutures (Sommer-Seasons - Ende März und Winter-Seasons - Ende September).
Am Verfallstag kaskadieren die Season-Futures zum jeweiligen Settlement-Preis wie folgt:

Sommer-Season in Monat-Futures April / Mai / Juni und Quartals-Future für das 3. Quartal

Winter-Season in Monats-Futures Oktober / November / Dezember und Quartals-Future für
das 1. Quartal des Folgejahres

3. Margining
Für Erdgas-Season-Futures gelten in der Simulation folgende Margin-Parameter:

ECC wird die endgültigen Margin-Parameter vor Handelsstart auf der ECC Internetseite veröffentlichen.
Die Season-Futures werden in die Margin-Gruppe GMQY für alle von der ECC abgewickelten
Erdgas-Futures eingeordnet.
4. Simulation
Die TTF Gas Base Load Season Futures (G4BS) sind bereits in der EUREXSimulationsumgebung aufgesetzt und stehen entsprechend dem beigefügten EUREXSimulationskalender für Testzwecke zur Verfügung. Die NCG-Natural-Gas-Futures (G0BS) werden
in Kürze verfügbar sein.
Vom 06. April 2009 bis zum 30. April 2009 wird ECC gemeinsam mit der EEX und ENDEX eine
Simulation durchführen und entsprechende Transaktionen in der Simulationsumgebung einstellen.
ECC wird Sie bei der Einstellung von Testgeschäften unterstützen. Wir möchten Sie bitten, hierfür
eine E-Mail mit den gewünschten Transaktionen an [email protected] zu senden.
5. Member Readiness
Die ECC Clearing-Lizenz für Clearing-Mitglieder sowie die Anerkennung als Handelsteilnehmer in
TTF-Gas-Futures sowie NCG-Natural-Gas-Futures schließt bereits die Abwicklung der neuen Season-Kontrakte mit ein. Die Einreichung von zusätzlichen Antragsformularen ist somit nicht erforderlich.

Settlement of Natural Gas Season Futures
Dear Sir or Madam,
as of 04 May 2009 ECC will offer clearing services for derivatives transactions on Natural Gas
Season Futures concluded on EEX and/or ENDEX.
With this ECC Clearing Information we would like to inform you of the product set-up, the settlement of the new products (cascading), margining and of the planned simulation.
1.
Product Set-up
The Natural Gas Season Futures which can be traded on ENDEX and/or EEX will be provided as
follows within the ECC (EUREX) clearing system:

A Variation Margin will be calculated for open positions in season futures every day. The settlement prices required to that end are established by EEX and/or ENDEX and published in the ECC
clearing system at approx. 6:00 pm.
Please find enclosed herewith the ECC Clearing Specification and a CSV file with the contract details which provide a summary of the entire required product information for your preparations.
Upon the introduction of the TTF Gas Base Load Season Futures, ECC will cease to register the
transactions in season futures concluded on ENDEX as two quarter futures, as it has been the
case so far. Please consider in this context that historical transactions cannot be transferred to the
new season futures.
For the time being, there are no plans to set up season futures within the ECC system for the purpose of registration of transactions in season futures concluded on Powernext. In this case, the
transactions are still registered in the underlying quarter futures as before.
2.
Expiry/ Cascading
Within the EUREX system, season futures expire on the same day on which the respective quarter futures contracts expire – at the end of March for Summer Seasons and at the end of September for Winter Seasons.
On the expiry date, the season futures are cascaded as follows at the respective settlement price:

Summer season into month futures for April / May / June and quarter futures for the 3rd
quarter

Winter season into month futures for October / November / December and quarter futures
for the 1st quarter of the following year

3. Margining
In the simulation, the following margin parameters are valid for Natural Gas Season Futures:

ECC will publish the final margin parameters on the ECC web site before the launch of trading.
Season futures are classified in the GMQY margin group of all natural gas futures settled by ECC.
4.
Simulation
The TTF Gas Base Load Season Futures (G4BS) are already available in the EUREX simulation
environment and are available for testing purposes in accordance with the EUREX simulation calendar enclosed herewith. The NCG Natural Gas Futures (G0BS) will be available soon.
From 06 April 2009 until 30 April 2009, ECC will carry out a simulation jointly with EEX and ENDEX
and provide corresponding transactions in the simulation environment.
ECC will support you in entering test transactions. We would like to ask you to send an e-mail with
the desired transactions to [email protected] for that purpose.
5.
Member Readiness
The ECC Clearing Licence for clearing members and the recognition as a trading participant in
TTF Gas Futures as well as NCG Natural Gas Futures already includes settlement of the new season contracts. As a result, additional application forms are not required.
