Dear Member,
As 2013 draws to a close it is timely to reflect on some of County Kildare
Fáilte’s highlight achievements. This activity included the launch of the
Tourism Development Strategy, the implementation of a comprehensive
Tourism Marketing Campaign, the creation of a whole suite of Marketing
Materials, the development of a new Website and much more.
The full details relating to each activity are contained within the attached
newsletter.
In addition, we are delighted to announce the appointment of our Strategic
Activator - Phil Donnelly who will be actively engaging with members over
the course of 2014, with the aim of implementing the strategic plan.
On behalf of the 2013 Board of County Kildare Fáilte, I wish to extend our

Without the valued support of our members, none of this activity would
be possible. Indeed we delighted to announce that our members have
grown by 300% this year to 150. Membership is the lifeblood of County
Kildare Fáilte and for 2014 member interaction and input will be a primary
initiative.

County Kildare Fáilte embarks on its most ambitious
Tourism Marketing Campaign to date.

Over the next 2-3 months the intoKildare Tourism initiative will feature across:
Television - TV3 & 3e
Website Revamp and Relaunch - www.intokildare.ie GOES LIVE
Up to 100 x 20 sec TV ads will run across
TV3 and 3e. With an audience of 1.3
million per day, this is the largest showcase ever for the County Tourism
brand. The ads will run predominately from 7am - 5.30pm on TV3 with
later slots appearing on 3e.
RADIO
KFM
Kfm is the No. 1 Radio station in County Kildare
with 71k listeners.
A key initiative for County Kildare Fáilte in 2013 was the development of a
completely revamped, versatile and fully optimised Member website. In July, with
your input, this aim was achieved, as www.intokildare.ie went live.
The reaction to the new site has been very positive with over 150k hits per year
and up to 800 visitors per day during peak periods. The ongoing development
of the website remains a key priority for us. We endeavour to ensure that all
members details are accurate.
Please ensure to check your individual listing and advise us of any amendments
you would like to make.
The latest JNLR survey (Apr. ’13) again, reveals Kfm as the most listened
to station, across the week, in County Kildare. This places Kfm ahead of all
the national and regional stations broadcasting into the county.
Leinster Leader
Continuing our association with
the Leinster Leader, County Kildare Fáilte will rollout a series of activity
based ads over the next two months commencing Tuesday July 30th.
Brochure Development and Distribution
A full suite of County Kildare Tourism brochures are near completion
inclusive of the County Guide, Map and Mood brochure. Thank you for
your contribution to same.
These key promotional tools will be distributed as follows:
• 130 Hotels and Destinations across Dublin
• Dublin Tourism Offices and Fáilte Ireland
• Dublin Port Displays
Radio Nova 100Fm
Since it was launched in 2010, radio Nova has
established itself as one most listened to stations
in Dublin and in North Kildare.
• Insert in Newspapers
Radio Nova has been licenced by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland
(www.bai.ie) to broadcast to Dublin city, county & commuter belt (incl.
Wicklow, Kildare and Meath). They have a daily listenership of 67,000
and over 180,000 downloads to their App.
The intoKildare Advertising Campaign has already commenced on Radio
Nova and is scheduled to run until late September.

The newly revamped Kildare Tourism website is now live

The development work on this site is ongoing and we encourage members
to review their entry and provide us with any new imagery and content.
Ambassador
Ray Darcy continues his roles as Ambassador for the
County, hence his Voiceover will feature on all radio
and Tv ads.
We will be announcing details of an additional County
Tourism Ambassador in the near future...
Key to Kildare
The Key to Kildare Benefits card has now
been distributed to all members.
We will be continuously adding to the
benefits , so please feel free to come to us
with a specific offer or promotion.
Celebrate the Flavours of Kildare The Launch of the Food Trail
In recent times CKF has developed a Food Trail brochure
featuring 22 individuals restaurants across Kildare.
This brochure has been distributed to members and is
available for download from www.intokildare.ie
In addition the brochure will be inserted with the
Leinster Leader Newspaper and be distributed to the
greater Kildare audience. Timing: Mid August

The Food Trail - Presenting “Flavours of Kildare”
In 2013 22 of Kildare’s food establishments came together to form the The Flavours of Kildare - Food
Trail. To support this initiative a special Food Trail brochure was developed and 20k copies printed for
general circulation. Likewise the brochure has been uploaded to the website. In addition a full week of
promotions for the Food Trail aired on Radio Nova.
In early 2014 it is proposed to host a formal launch of the Food Trail involving our new Tourism
Ambassador - Yvonne Keating.

Social Media Strategy Devised
A fully integrated Marketing Strategy is under development incorporating Social
Media inclusive of Facebook /Twitter/Linkedin and Youtube. Over time this strategy
will be rolled out in full however initially we wish to announced our new Business Page is

Arthur’s Way “Sense of Place Workshop”
On December 11th at Castletown House, we held the inaugural “Arthur’s Way - Sense of Place
Workshop”.
Attended by a a whole range of businesses and attractions across Northeast Kildare, the workshop
aim was to provide skills knowledge and networking on how to promote your locality along with the
Arthur’s Way Tourism Plan.

Calendar of Events
We are currently preparing the 2014 Kildare Tourism Calender of Events.
This countywide Calender is designed to include details of each members’ events programme.
A vital tool, the 2014 Kildare Tourism Calender of Events will be featured on the website, in Social Media, in advertising
and will act as the basis for key communications to Media, Tourism Trade and to the end consumer. Members are invited
to forward details of their events for 2014 as soon as possible. On a regular basis dates can be altered and updates
incorporated.

The Role of County Kildare Fáilte’s Office
The office at County Kildare Fáilte performs a whole array of key front line activities. On a daily basis, this office which is
staffed by Nuala Murray, deals with a wide variety of tourism enquiries and requests, with a key focus of motivating visitors
to experience member attractions. Likewise this office acts as the primary support for our members.
