Vor allem im Textilbereich boomt der
Export aus Kambodscha. Viele europäische Firmen lassen ihre Textilien
dort fertigen. Um Ihren Kunden und

Eröffnung der MBS Niederlassung
Kambodscha in Planung. Wir freuen

Liebe MBS-Freunde,
in diesem Jahr ist die MBS zwanzig
Jahre alt geworden. Aus einem kleinen Unternehmen mit sechs Mitarbeitern hat sich ein Mittelstandsunternehmen entwickelt, welches
heute an verschiedenen Standorten
in Deutschland, Polen, Portugal und
China ein vielfältiges Leistungsspektrum anbietet.
Über 230 Mitarbeiter sorgen heute
dafür, dass die unterschiedlichsten
Aufträge aus unserer Kundschaft jeden Tag mit modernster Technik und
intelligenten EDV-Systemen auf einem hohen Servicelevel abgefertigt
werden.
Wir, die Geschäftsführung sind uns
bewusst, dass eine positive Entwicklung nur durch die Mithilfe unserer Kunden und der Einsatzbereitschaft unserer Mitarbeiter gelingen
konnte. Hierfür bedanken wir uns bei
allen.
Im Zeitalter der Globalisierung und
Ünernahme vieler Mittelständler in
unserer Branche, müssen wir uns
auch in Zukunft über Service und innovative Produkten in einem hart umkämpften Markt behaupten. Wir werden uns dieser Herausforderung stellen und weiter auf Expansion setzen.
Im Sommer 2007 werden wir in Hongkong unsere erste Niederlassung eröffnen und bis Mitte 2008 weitere
Standorte in China folgen lassen.
Auch werden wir uns als einer der
ersten deutschen Spediteure in Entwicklungsländern wie Kambodscha,
Laos und Myanmar engagieren und
eigene Standorte entwickeln.

Dear friends of MBS,
This year MBS has turned twenty. From a
small enterprise with six employees it
has developed into a medium-sized
enterprise which offers a wide range of
business activities at different locations
in Germany, Poland, Portugal and China.
Today, with over 230 employees, MBS
ensures that the different orders from our
customers are dispatched each day with
state-of-the-art technology and the most
sophisticated EDP systems on a high
service level.
We, the management are aware that a
positive development is only possible
with the assistance of our customers and
the operational readiness of our employees. For this we thank all of you.
We will also encounter ourselves as one
of the first german forwarders in Cambodscha, Laos and Myanmar in order to
develop our own subsidaries.
In the age of globalisation and takeover
of many medium-sized companies in our
industry we also have to maintain our
position in the future by offering service
and innovative products in this highly
competitive market. We will rise to this
challenge and continue with the further
expansion. In summer 2007 we open our
first subsidiary in Hong Kong followed by
more locations in China by the middle of
2008.
We wish you and your families a beautiful summer 2007. In our next issue we are
going to inform you again about the start
of our very own operations in Asia.

In allen MBS Standorten können Ausfuhrgüter auf den deutschen Flughäfen mit
dem elektronischen Ausfuhrverfahren Atlas
ECS/AES (Export Control System /Automated Export System) abgefertigt werden.
Das System ist an allen MBS Standorten
verfügbar.

The system is available at all MBS locations.
Am 23.05.2007 fand eine Besichtigung des
Lufthansa HUB am Flughafen Köln/Bonn
statt. Neben dem Drehkreuz Frankfurt hält
Köln Platz 2 der wichtigsten deutschen
Frachtumschlagsflughäfen. Für das Jahr
2007 rechnet man mit über 650.000 Tonnen
Fracht, die es gilt pünktlich abzufertigen.
Zahlreiche Kunden nahmen mit großem Interesse an diesem Event der MBS Logistics
teil und wurden Zeugen der im Minutentakt
bearbeiteten Frachtverladungen. Highlight
dieses nachmittags war die Entladung eines
md-11 Frachters einkommend aus Hongkong. Ein herzlichen Dank an die Lufthansa,
die es ermöglicht hat unseren Kunden einen
Einblick in die Maschine und das Cockpit
des Frachters zu gewähren.
Eine gelungene Veranstaltung, die mit
einem gemeinsamen Abendessen in der
MBS Lounge ihren Ausklang fand.
MBS Supplier-Customer Interaction
at Cologne Airport
On 23rd May 2007 a visit to the Lufthansa
HUB at Cologne/Bonn airport took place.
After the Frankfurt hub, Cologne ranks second in the list of most important cargo transshipment airports in Germany. For 2007, an
estimated 650,000 tonnes of cargo has to be
processed on-time.
A large number of customers participated in
this MBS Logistics event with great interest
and witnessed the freight loadings on
minute-by-minute basis.
Highlight of this afternoon was the unloading of a MD-11 freighter coming in from
Hong Kong. Cordial thanks to Lufthansa that
it made an insight into the machine possible
for our customers and allowed them to have
a look at the cockpit of the freighter.
A successful arrangement that concluded
with a corporate dinner in the MBS Lounge.

MBS AirCargo – ein starker Partner
wenn jede Minute zählt
Die Kollegen für die schnelle Hilfe der Automobilzulieferer
Um kurz nach 12.00 Uhr mittags erhielt Chris
Pohl, Expoertleiterin der MBS AirCargo in
Köln, den verzweifelten Anruf eines Kunden. Eine Lieferung von Schrauben für den
Audi TT musste schnellstens nach Györ /
Ungarn verbracht werden. Es drohte der
Stillstand der Produktion mit allen Konsequenzen für den Zulieferer nun galt es, die
Schrauben bis 17.00 Uhr ans Ziel zu bringen.
Kurzerhand lies Chris Pohl den LKW mit den
geladenen Schrauben auf der Autobahn A5
umdrehen und dirigierte diesen zum
Flughafen Egelsbach wo schon der
kurzfristig beauftragte Charter wartete. Es
wurde alles geladen was in die Maschine
passte – selbst 2 Sitze mussten der Ladung
weichen. Der Charter erreichte pünktlich
das Ziel und sicherte somit die reibungslose
Produktion im Audiwerk. Eine logistische
Aufgabe die der Dame der ersten AirCargo
Stunde sichtlich Spaß bereitete. Logistikdienstleistung per Excellence!

when every minute counts.
The colleagues for the immediate assistance of
the automobile suppliers gave a desperate call to
Chris Pohl Expoertmanager of the MBS air cargo
in Cologne at briefly after 12 p.m. A supply of
screws for the AUDI TT had to be delivered as
soon as possible to Gyoer/Hungary. The production was threatened if the screws did not reach
the destination by 5 p.m. Thus, all consequences
would have applied to the freight forwarder.
Without any further delay Chris Pohl re-routed
the truck with the loaded screws on the motorway A5 and directed it to the Egelsbach airport
where the Charter, commissioned at short notice, was waiting already. Everything that fitted
into the machine was loaded even two seats had
to make space for the load. The Charter reached
the destination on time, and hence ensured
smooth production in the AUDI manufacturing
plant. A logistic task which the lady in the first
working hour of Air Cargo must have enjoyed. Logistics Service by Excellence!

Within the WCA and its partner networks (APLN;
CGLN, IGLN just to mention a few) MBS has 1653

Kolleginnen der ersten Stunde!
Ingeborg Nolting und Sabine Schmitz feierten
in kleiner Runde mit „ihrem Chef“ Bernd
Wilkes ihre ganz eigenen 20 Jahre MBS. „Es ist
eine tolle Erfahrung die Entwicklung der MBS
von Anfang an zu verfolgen, und aktiv daran
mitzuarbeiten. Es macht mir noch immer viel
Spaß – berichtet Sabine Schmitz auf die spontane Frage nach „Ihrer MBS“. Inge Nolting
meint: „Auch nach 20 Jahren machen mir
meine Aufgaben viel Spass.“ Die beiden MBS
Damen, die ganz unterschiedliche Werdegänge innerhalb der MBS vollbracht haben

and actively contributing to it. “Its still so much
fun for me” - replies Sabine Schmitz to the

beginnen. Alles, wofür sie gekämpft
haben, haben sie sich zunichte gemacht, die Goldmedaillen werden
ihnen wieder abgenommen, und sie
bekommen eine Sperre auf Lebenszeit im Männer-Einzel.
Einige Jahre in der sportlichen Verbannung später, schaffen es die beiden tatsächlich, ihren Streit beiseite und ein delikates Schlupfloch im
Regelwerk des Eiskunstlaufverbands freizulegen.
