Weg 4
Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Am Skiweg Richtung Kabinenbahn, links abbiegen auf
die Rodelbahn zum Reithgut oder weiter den Bach entlang bis der Güterweg
Schlöglberg den Skiweg kreuzt. Den Güterweg aufwärts, vorbei am Reithgut und
Schlöglgut immer nach oben bis zum Brennergut. Dauer: ca. 1,5 Std.
Der Retourweg führt über das Landhaus Alpin. Dauer ca. 1 Std.

Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Vorbei an der Kirche aufwärts zum Wittigweg und weiter
zur Mandlwandstraße. Diese abwärts am Gehsteig folgen, bis zur Abzweigung
Pronebengut. Beim Pronebengut weiter über die große Wiese und dem Waldweg
bis zum Scheffaugut aufwärts am Güterweg zu den letzen Bauernhöfen. Gleiche
Strecke zurück zum Scheffaugut und abwärts zur Hochkönigs-Bundesstraße und
am Gehsteig zurück ins Dorfzentrum (keine Einkehrmöglichkeit).

Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Vorbei an der Kirche, aufwärts entlang der Dorfstraße
vorbei an der Appartementanlage Alpendomizil und weiter aufwärts entlang der
Mandlwandstraße bis zur ersten Abzweigung rechts (Güterweg Schamberg)
aufwärts bis zum Bachgut und weiter bis zum letzten Bauernhof. Dieselbe
Strecke wieder retour (keine Einkehrmöglichkeit). Dauer ca. 2 Std.
Weg 7
Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Mit dem Skibus zum Gasthof Sonnhof und rechts entlang
durch den Wald zum Gasthof Rapoldsberg oder links Richtung Hotel Bergheimat
über Weg 3 ins Dorf. Sonnhof-Rapoldsberg und retour. Dauer ca. 45 min.
Sonnhof-Bergheimat-Dorf, Dauer ca. 1 Stunde.
Weg 8
Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Nach der Bäckerei Bauer rechts über die kleine Brücke
vorbei an der Eisstockbahn und den Wohnhäusern Neubau, weiter über den
kleinen Weg und der kleinen Brücke unterhalb des Gasthofes Scherer. Nun geht's
am Güterweg Henhart aufwärts bis zum Ende der Straße zum Paussbauer.
Dauer ca. 45 min. und retour.
Achtung, der Skiweg vom Dorfzentrum zur Kabinenbahn wird
nicht gestreut und wird von Skifahrern benutzt! Die Arthurhausund Birgkarloipe sind so breit, dass man neben den Langlaufspuren
bequem wandern kann – bitte nicht in die Spur treten und Hunde an
der Leine führen. Weg durch die Barbaraschlucht im
Winter gesperrt!

Winter Hiking Paths
in Mühlbach am Hochkönig
Path 2
Car park below the Kopphütte bus stop: Reachable by ski bus (your own car or
on foot). From here a road runs to the Kopphütte (ca. 30 min.). Make your way
downhill via the toboggan run, over the Scheideggberg and past the Rohrmoosgut and Club Aldiana as far as the senior citizens' home, then continuing to the
village center. (Please keep your eyes open ... this hiking path is also a toboggan
route!). If you wish, you can borrow a toboggan at the Kopphütte and sled back
down to the valley; or at the Rohrmoosgut, between the farmhouse and the barn,
taking you down the Rohrmoos supply road to Gasthof Lederer. Continue for 300
m along the Hochkönig highway until you reach the cabin lift, after which you will
make your way back to the village center along the ski path.
Total Time: ca. 2.5 hrs.

Parkplatz unter Bushaltestelle Kopphütte: Erreichbar mit dem Skibus (eigenem
PKW oder zu Fuß). Von hier führt eine Straße zur Kopphütte (ca. 30 min.).
Abstieg entlang der Rodelbahn über den Scheideggberg vorbei am Rohrmoosgut und dem Club Aldiana bis zum Seniorenwohnheim und weiter ins Ortszentrum. (Vorsicht Wanderweg ist auch Rodelweg!) Wer Lust hat, kann sich bei der
Kopphütte einen Schlitten ausleihen und ins Tal rodeln. Oder beim Rohrmoosgut
zwischen Bauernhof und Stall auf den Güterweg Rohrmoos bis zum Gasthof
Lederer. Anschließend 300 m entlang der Hochkönigbundesstraße bis zur
Kabinenbahn und weiter am Skiweg zurück in das Dorfzentrum.
Dauer: ca. 2,5 Std.

Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Am Gehsteig entlang der Bundesstraße Richtung
Kabinenbahn, bei der Abzweigung vor der Brücke rechts abbiegen auf die „Alte
Mitterbergstraße“, weiter am Wanderweg aufwärts zum Bernhardgut und vorbei
am Kniegut aufwärts durch den Wald bis zur Abzweigung „Winterweg Bergheimat“ und in 10 min. zum Hotel Bergheimat und weiter zum Gasthof Sonnnof.
Oder bei der Abzweigung „Winterweg Bergheimat“ weiter aufwärts auf dem
Winterwanderweg bis der Weg auf die Zufahrtsstraße zur Kopphütte (Weg Nr.2)
trifft. Der Rückweg führt über die Rodelbahn. Dauer: ca. 1,5 Std.
Weg 3
Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Über den Skiweg zur Kabinenbahn, weiter 300 m
entlang der Hochkönig Bundesstraße bis zum Gasthof Lederer und rechts den
Güterweg Rohrmoos zum Rohrmoosgut/Club Aldiana zum Rodelweg. Beim
Wasserspeicher den Rodelweg verlassen und nach rechts abbiegen und weiter
auf dem flachen Weg durch den Wald. Bei der Brücke führt der linke Weg vorbei
am Kraftwerk aufwärts zum Winterwanderweg Nr.2 Kopphütte oder auf Weg
Nr.3 abwärts rechts zum Kniegut. Vom Kniegut geht es entweder über die
Mandlwandstraße oder den Winterwanderweg zurück nach Mühlbach.
Dauer: ca. 2,5 Std.
Weg 3
Mühlbach Dorfzentrum: Am Gehsteig entlang der Bundesstraße Richtung
Kabinenbahn, bei der Abzweigung vor der Brücke rechts abbiegen auf die „Alte
Mitterbergstraße“, weiter am Wanderweg aufwärts zum Haus Strasser und
vorbei am Kniegut aufwärts durch den Wald und bei der ersten Abzweigung links
weiter bis zur großen Brücke in der Viererwasch. Weiter über die Brücke entlang
des flachen Weges durch den Wald zur Rodelbahn und weiter abwärts nach
Mühlbach. Dauer: ca. 2,5 Std.

Mühlbach Village Center: Past the church and uphill along the main village road,
past the Alpendomizil apartment complex and continuing uphill along the
Mandlwandstraße until you come to the first right-hand turn-off (Schamberg
supply road). This takes you uphill to the Bachgut and you will continue until you
reach the last farm. Return by the same route. Total Time: ca. 2 hrs.
(no refreshment opportunities along this route)
Path 7
Mühlbach Village Center: Ride the ski bus to Gasthof Sonnhof, then make a
right through the forest until you reach Gasthof Rapoldsberg or leftside to Hotel
Bergheimat (way 3) to the village. Total Time: ca. 45 min.
Sonnhof-Bergheimat-Village. Total Time: ca. 1 hr.
Path 8
Mühlbach Village Center: After the "Bauer" bakery, make a right across the small
bridge, passing the ice-stock rink and the "Neubau" residential development.
Continue via a narrow path and small bridge below Gasthof Scherer. You will now
make your way uphill on the "Henhart" supply path until you reach the end of the
road leading to the Paussbauer; great scenic route, opportunity for some
sledding as well. Total Time: ca. 45 min.
Important! The ski path leading from the center of the village to the
cabin lift is not gritted or salted and is used by skiers!
The pathway through the Barbaraschlucht is closed in winter!
Snowshoers: Remain constantly alert to potential avalanche threats
when you are in open country!

Mühlbach Village Center: Take the footpath alongside the highway towards the
cabin lift, making a right onto the “Alte Mitterbergstraße“ at the turn-off before
the bridge, continuing uphill along the hiking path to Haus Strasser and past the
Kniegut, making you way uphill through the forest. At the first turn-off, make a
left and walk as far as the big bridge in Viererwasch. Cross the bridge and
continue along a flat pathway through the forest to the toboggan run, then
downhill back to Mühlbach. Total Time: ca. 2.5 hrs.
Mühlbach Village Center: Past the church, making your way uphill to the
Wittigweg and continuing to the Mandlwandstraße. Continue downhill on the
footpath adjacent to this road, until you come to the Pronebengut turn-off. At the
Pronebengut, continue across a large field and up a forest path to the
Scheffaugut, finally following a supply lane to the last of the farms. Follow the
same route back to the Scheffaugut, then continue downhill to the Hochkönig
highway, before following the footpath back to the center of the village. Total
Time: about 3.5 hrs. (no refreshment opportunities along this route)

Mühlbach Village Center: Take the ski path to the cabin lift, turning left onto the
toboggan run leading you to the Reithgut, or keep walking alongside the stream
until the Schlöglberg supply lane crosses the ski path. Make your way up the
supply lane, passing the Reithgut and Schlöglgut and continuing all the way up to
the Brennergut. Total Time: ca. 1.5 hrs. The return route takes you back via
Landhaus Alpin. Total Time: ca. 1 hr.

Path 3
Mühlbach Village Center: Take the footpath alongside the highway towards the

past the Kniegut, through the forest until you reach the “Winterweg Bergheimat”
turn-off. You are now just 10 minutes away from Hotel Bergheimat, heading to
the last stop Gasthof Sonnhof. Or, if you prefer, at the “Winterweg Bergheimat”
turn-off continue uphill along the hiking path until it meets an access road to the
Kopphütte (Path 2).
Total Time: ca. 1.5 hrs. You can return along the toboggan route.
Mühlbach Village Center: Take the ski path to the cabin lift, continuing for another
300 m along the Hochkönig highway as far as Gasthof Lederer, then right on the
Rohrmoos supply lane to the Rohrmoosgut/Club Aldiana and the toboggan route.
Leave the toboggan route when you get to the reservoir and turn right,
continuing on a flat path that leads through the forest. At the bridge, the left-hand
path takes you uphill past the power station to winter hiking path No.2 leading to
the Kopphütte, or follow path No. 3 to your right, taking you downhill to the
Kniegut. From the Kniegut, you can either follow the Mandlwandstraße or the
winter hiking path back to Mühlbach. Total Time: ca. 2.5 hrs.

Moderne Schatzsuche am Fuße des Hochkönigs
mithilfe von GPS-Gerät und Geokoordinaten.
Im Sommer erfreut sich die digitale Schatzsuche
größter Beliebtheit aber auch im Winter begeben
sich nun immer mehr bewaffnet mit einem
GPS - Gerät im Schnee auf die Suche nach dem
im Schnee versteckten Caches. GPS-Geräte,
Beschreibung und Koordinaten erhalten Sie im
Tourismusverband Mühlbach (€ 50,00 Kaution).

Mühlbach – Treasure chests of the
Hochkönig, in winter, too!
Modern treasure hunt at the foot of the Hochkönig
with the aid of a GPS device and geo coordinates.
This digital treasure hunt is immensely popular in
summer, of course. But nowadays, more and
more wintertime visitors arm themselves with GPS
and head out into the wintery white in search of
caches hidden beneath the snow. GPS equipment,
descriptions and coordinates are all available at
the tourist office in Mühlbach (€ 50 deposit).
A number of different routes are available, as are refreshment
stops along the way.
Snowshoeing and Winter Hikes
Wohlig warm in Decken gehüllt werden Sie von zwei oder vier
Pferdestärken gezogen - begleitet vom Glockengebimmel und
dem Schnauben der Pferde, gleiten Sie durch die herrliche
Winterlandschaft von Mühlbach am Hochkönig.
Verschiedene Routen auch mit Einkehr möglich.

This new recreational hotspot, located next to the elementary
school in Mühlbach, is open daily!
A refreshment stand serves punch, tea, hot spiced wine, bundt

technique. The trail begins right behind the Arthurhaus lift.
Wir dürfen Sie darauf hinweisen dass bei allen
Wanderungen gutes Schuhwerk erforderlich ist.
Außerdem dürfen wir sie bitten die Loipen nur mit
Langlaufskiern zu befahren. Das Begehen der der
Langlaufloipen durch Fußgänger oder das Befahren
mit Alpin-Ski ist nicht erlaubt. Für Unfälle auf den
Langlaufloipen wird nicht gehaftet!

all of these outings. Please only enter the ski trails
when you are wearing skis. Skiers and hikers use the
cross-country ski trails at their own risk!

No winter getaway would be complete without a high-spirited
sledding expedition. After a beautiful stroll through the winter
countryside, perhaps followed by some hearty refreshments
and a hot beverage, you will be able to grab a sled and zoom
back down to the village below.
The area offers 2 different sledding runs:
Ice Stock (alpine-style curling)
At the ice-stock rink behind the Bauer bakery,
right next to the ski path/ hiking trail.

• 4.5 km-long natural run from Gasthof Kopphütte back to the
village. Ride the bus to the Kopphütte stop, after which you
have about a 30-min. walk ahead of you. Gasthof Kopphütte
serves refreshments and has sleds available for you to
borrow for € 2.
• Floodlit natural toboggan run along the foot-/ski path leading
to the Reithgut. ca. 20 min. walk from the center of the
village.
