Do not miss out on the incredible opportunity to skyrocket your musical skills in one of our exciting Summer group programs. These fun filled classes are only offered from June through August and have been described to us by students and parents as the highlight of their summer events. One of our most popular Summer Programs is the Summer Jam class. Summer Jam is a less formal version of our incredibly successful AMP’D Rock Band program. The class offers students the chance to play in real bands with guitars, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals. All Summer Jam participants are invited to play at a killer outdoor concert on Saturday August 14th. Summer is also a great time to focus on areas that you may be neglecting during the course of a busy school year. Guitarists can dramatically increase their playing abilities by enrolling in our super popular “Guitarobics” class which gives you a taste of what the real shredders know and practice on a regular basis. Other class titles we are offering include: Roots of Rock, Music Genius Theory Course, Extreme Soloing, Rock Star’s Pro Workout, Jazz Band Prep, and Guitar for Beginners. We are also considering a group vocal training class and a hands on Recording or Live Sound Engineering class (depending on interest). The Groove Dr.’s are offering some killer Summer classes on Stick Technique, 40 Essential Rudiments, and a Hand Percussion Ensemble class that will also perform at the Summer Jam concert in August. For a complete description of our amazing Summer Program, see your registration form included with this newsletter. Students must sign up by June 1st. Classes start the week of June 7th. You can email you class requests to the school office over the Labor Day weekend: [email protected] On Track Music 801-272-7917 A TRIUMPHAL RETURN This year the annual On Track Music and Groove Dr.’s Student Fest made a triumphal return to a venue that was new to most of our student performers, but familiar to a few of our veteran rockers. This year’s Fest was held at the incredible auditorium of Holladay Baptist Church. The show left no doubt that the combined effort our students, staff, sponsors, production personnel, volunteers from On Track, Groove Dr’s, and HBC, exceeded all expectations and made this by far the best Student Fest to date. The 2010 Student Fest was attended by thousands of enthusiastic fans who witnessed an entire weekend of amazing musical performances. The Fest included two separate evening Rock Shows and six individual daytime Jam Sessions that gave our students the chance to dazzle the public with their incredible musical skills. In keeping with the “Come Together” theme of the “Fab Four” Each daytime Jam Session was kicked off with a killer performance of a Beatles cover by the On Track Music and Groove Dr’s Staff Band. The opening Staff performances were followed by a myriad of individual and group performances including solo guitar and drum pieces (performed with and without backing music), Festival Groups (groups of guitar, drum, and bass students who performed popular songs to a c.d. track), Advanced Festival Groups (former students from the Summer Jam program who performed as live bands), and AMP’D Bands (real rock bands playing killer tunes). The daytime Jam Sessions were designed to give all students of all levels the opportunity to play for friends and loved ones in an environment that is exciting yet comfortable, and is also friendly and encouraging. The evening shows started with a bang featuring rockin’ performances by HBC’s very own “Real Life Transformation”. Then the AMP’D teachers hit the stage taking no prisoners. Friday night the AMPD’ alliance rocked a killer version of the instrumental tune “Gemini” and Saturday Night featured a surprise tribute to the “Friends” that Student Fest just can’t do without (and had everyone wondering if that was really Ringo Starr or Sneez). The Eleven AMP’D bands that rocked the house completely floored the awestruck audience. There were too many amazing performances to list them all but members of Doomed Obsession, Ever Since Tomorrow, Silk ‘n Suede, The What?, Metal Roses, The Number Q, For The Win, Failed Uprising, Quarantine, Insight, and the Idle Americans, once again proved that the On Track Music and Groove Dr’s AMP’D rock band program is the leading music performance program available. Thanks to everyone who was involved in making this year’s Student Fest a true triumphal return! 6233 S.
