1. Overview
(X-CR part)
-4-
(rear of 320)
<Ink feeding system>
1. Ink bottle & Cleaner bottle connector
a. structure of bottle connector
The bottle connector consists of inlet part and
outlet part. Inlet part covers the bottle as a cap and it
is connected with outlet for ink feeding as well.
It has a stopper which consists of diaphragm,
piston and spring. The stopper blocks or opens the
ink feeding, according to the coupling degree of
bottle connector.
Outlet part is connected with inlet part, and it
feeds ink into main feeding tube as well. Three is a
small pin in it. And the pin presses against the packing part and opens the bottle when outlet
and inlet part are assembled.
b. mesh (filter)
Cleaner bottle connector has a mesh (filter). It prevents a mixture of a foreign substance
into the cleaner feeding tube and devices.
-5-
2. Syringe pump & Waste ink bottle
New ink feeding system introduces a built-in
syringe pump. It is connected with waste ink bottle
and capping ass’y so that it could draw an ink,
waste ink (in the cap) or cleaner into the waste ink
bottle. But please be aware that the bottle should
not be filled up with waste ink. If not, the
overflowed ink will go into syringe pump and
cause an additional trouble.
3. Cleaner pump & selector
Cleaner pump can transfer a cleaner from
cleaner bottle to the cap when Power switch is
turned off or Power LED(on Keypad) is off. If Power LED is turned on, the cleaner pump can
not transfer cleaner because the cleaner feeding tube is being blocked by solenoid valve then.
4. X-CR lock, Cap and Wiper
Naturally solvent-based inks are apt to be dried up. So the new ink feeding system needs
to handle cautiously and needs preventive maintenances also.
Check that Print-head is always covered with cap and X-CR hold its home position in idle
time whenever finish up a daily printing job.

2. Setting up
Observe following guideline and indicated printing procedure to
minimize hazard what it would be caused by hardened ink.
(A) Unpacking the Printer
<1> Uncover the main paper box.
Remove all protective materials (the foam blocks) and the optional components
(ink bottles, cleaner bottle, manual, driver CD etc.)
Uncover the vinyl wrapper from the printer and remove other foam blocks.
Check the printer for damages.
<2> Moving printer requires two persons at least.
Carefully, lift the printer and place it on a solid-stable-level
table (place). Remove all tapes from Y-CR and Y-CR lock
for delivery (see the image right)
Keep the Y-CR lock and screws for future use.
<3> To check Y-CR and Table performance, connect power cable into the socket.
Secure the Y-CR moving space and place Y-CR in the middle of machine by hand.
Switch on the power, and check that Y-CR is moving rearward.
Check Stand-by, Y-Jog and Z-Jog buttons for working.
(B) Ink Feeding
<01> Make sure the optional components for setting up ink:
7 kinds of ink (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan,
Matte black, Photo black, Red, Blue) and
Liquid cleaner for eco solvent ink.
<02> Make sure the indication sticker
on the rear of ink bottle holder.
Ink bottle housing may differ from the image at above. If so, simply open all lid and fill bottles
with ink in accordance with the indication sticker.
-7-
Release the inlet from outlet and replace the bottle cap with inlet part tightly.
Then fix the inlet of bottle to outlet of connector by tool. Set the rest ink and cleaner bottle
to connector, as stated above, according to the indication sticker on the ink bottle station.
<03> Open the cover of Y-CR. (If the cover is packed with adhesive tapes, remove it first)
All the tubing clamps should be opened (tubing clamps are positioned below each ink
bottle connector and above each damper) and the X-CR should be positioned on its home
position. Close the clamp under the choke pump.
Avoid ink ingestion or splashes on skin or in eyes. Failure to do so
may cause difficulty in breathing or damage. Keep used bottles out of
the reach of children. Do not drop the ink on the skin. If it is got on the
skin, wash it off immediately.
Avoid dust which not to be added into the ink.
If it fails, ink may be useless and also ink feeding line (tube), damper, or
print-head may be clogged.
Teflon™ tube: PTFE (Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene), Teflon™ has excellent
merits that remarkable resistance to high temperature and to corrosive
chemicals. But it is easy to be broken and to be deformed by a physical
impact. And a deformed tube would make interruption or leakage on the feeding of ink.
Securely cap and put a used empty bottle into a plastic bag and
dispose of it as an industrial waste. Observe any regulations for
disposal of used ink bottle.
Turn the ink bottles and cleaner bottle 1/4 rotation anti-clockwise by using a tool.
(Do not turn on the bottles excessively, it would cause an ink or cleaner leakage)
-8-
To fill each feeding tube and each damper and
print-head, push the syringe pump fully and
release. Make sure the ink feeding line under the
feeding bottle.
If the feeding tube is not being filled with ink, you
may push the syringe pump one more.
Do not push syringe pump
too much. Do not pull up
syringe piston by force.
If not, damper would be damaged. And a damaged damper would cause problems that an ink
leakage and irregular printing and so on.
If you can not fill feeding tube with ink, you should check X-CR position and
waste ink bottle. X-CR must be placed on home position and waste bottle cap
must be closed securely.
Wait about 1 minute for a taking up of ink by syringe pump spring. After 1 minute, push the
syringe pump again. On the repeating of above procedure each ink will fill the tubes and
dampers.
To save ink consumption, if more than a half of damper room
is filled with ink you should close their clamp above the
damper in filling order.
If all the dampers are filled with ink sufficiently, unlock all
clamps and release waste bottle cap and then secure it. If
not, ink will be disposed into the waste ink bottle until the
bottle is fully filled with waste ink.
Whenever you use a
syringe pump, you must
remove a negative pressure
in the syringe pump, after use. To remove a
negative pressure, place X-CR out of home
position for a while or open the lid of waste ink
bottle.

bed) and nozzle by using of Z-UP button.
FreeJet 320 machine detects a maximum distance
(3mm, approx.) from nozzle to bed (or media)
automatically by ‘upper height sensor’. It would
help user to free from a possible risk, a nozzle
collision with an object or a media or the bed. The
gap must be set within the distance, 1.0 to 2mm.
