GAMES KIT INCLUDES:
It is my honor to welcome you to the 2016 DR PEPPER
SONIC GAMES! We are excited to have you level up your
training, and hope that you encourage your employees to
join in the gaming fun and this training journey all year long.
Our goal at SONIC is to provide each guest with a positive
and unique experience, and our statistics show that not only does
enrollment in the Games correlate with higher Overall Satisfaction
scores, but higher Mystery Shop scores and increased sales, too.
Since 1994, the DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES has been an
integral part of the overall SONIC training experience. You are in
good company: thousands of successful drive-ins have also chosen
to make training and continuing education for their employees a
top priority in 2016. Monthly call-in quizzes will help to motivate
your crew members to study their e-STAR learning courses,
and monthly Games Shops will encourage them to
go above and beyond to create a positive experience
for each guest. As your team seeks to master their
training, I look to you as the Team Leader to drive
crew engagement and inspire your crew to focus
on continued quality and service improvement.

• All crew quizzes are 5 questions; all Manager quizzes are 10 questions
• One crew member per station must call and complete the quiz for that month
to earn points in the Games

• 100 points for taking all quizzes by the 15th day of the month
• 100 bonus points each month for taking all scheduled quizzes in that month
All monthly quizzes must be taken before midnight Central on the last day of the month.
No exceptions will be made for busy quiz lines!
The quiz lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
The average time to take a quiz is 8 minutes
All quiz materials come from available training resources in e-Learning
and the 2016 Star Guide PDFs located on the PartnerNet Training Page
and the DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES website

S.O.N.I.C. GAMES SHOPS
• S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops consist of a group of specific questions taken directly from your regularly
scheduled Mystery Shop; the points earned determine your S.O.N.I.C. Games Shop score
• You will receive 6 total Games Shops: 1 shop per month
• The 5 best S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops with the lowest delivery times will count towards your final
score; the Mystery Shop with your highest delivery time will be dropped
• If you receive more than one shop per month, a computer-generated program will randomly select
your S.O.N.I.C. Games Shop and mark it with an asterisk
Total Points Available Each Shop = 1850
SEMIFINAL ROUND | JUNE | ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 10
Drive-Ins that meet the following criteria will be recognized as Semifinalists:
• Minimum of 17,700 points in the Preliminary Round – points earned through call-in quizzes,
S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops and e-STAR certifications
• Average delivery time of 4:00 minutes or less on S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops
• Passing score on most recent Food Safety Audit
• Drive-Ins will be recognized on the Games website and PartnerNet
All Semifinalist teams will receive t-shirts for their crews to wear through August and a
window cling to hang in their drive-in!

TOP 300 RECOGNITION | JUNE | ANNOUNCED ON JUNE 24
The Top 300 drive-ins are recognized in June for being in the top 10% of the Sonic System:
• All Top 300 drive-ins must meet all Semifinalist qualifications
• The 50 drive-ins with the most total points from each of the six Games Zones will be chosen
as a Top 300 team
• Drive-Ins will be recognized on the Games website and PartnerNet
TOP 48 ROUND | JULY | ANNOUNCED WEEKLY IN JULY
Drive-Ins that meet the following criteria will be recognized as the Top 48:
• Must be one of the top 8 drive-ins per Games Zone based on total cumulative points
• Average delivery time of 4:00 minutes or less on S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops
• Passing score on most recent Food Safety Audit
The Top 48 round consists of the Traveling Knowledge Bowl and Validation

FINAL 12 ROUND | SEPTEMBER | ANNOUNCED
ON AUGUST 5
Drive-Ins that meet the following criteria will be recognized as the Final 12:
• Must be one of the top 12 drive-ins in the SONIC system based on points
earned throughout the entire competition
• Average delivery time of 4:00 minutes or less including July’s Validation Audit
• Passing score on most recent Food Safety Audit
• Top 12 Teams receive an all expenses paid trip for 7 participants - 1 Manager
and 6 Station Champions and the chance to compete at the 2016 National Finals!
Trip includes the team’s hotel rooms, meals, and transportation during the
National Finals and SONIC’s National Convention

The 2016 DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES offer thousands of opportunities for
crew members to win big! There are THREE ways for crew members to win:
INSTANT WIN CARDS

If your Pull-and-Win Games Card reveals an instant win prize, you will
receive the prize indicated. Submit your winning Prize Code online under
the Prize Redemption page on the Games website.
MONTHLY DRAWING
If your Pull-and-Win Games Card reveals a code, enter online or by mail for
the month that corresponds to the specific prize you want. SIX cards each
month will be drawn for the monthly prize drawing. Don’t forget to submit
your code in the month that has the prize of your dreams!

TWELVE crew members who take their call-in quizzes will be put into a

ADMINISTRATION
PULL-AND-WIN GAMES CARDS
Instant win prizes can be redeemed online by entering the Prize Code (found on the
pull-and win card) under the Prize Redemption tab on the Games website. You can
also redeem by mailing the completed card to the following address:
Games Headquarters, P.O. Box 140759 Irving, TX 75014.
All merchandise must be redeemed by May 31, 2016. Prizes are subject to availability. Sonic
Industries, Inc. and Games Headquarters reserve the right to substitute similar merchandise
of equal or greater value, and are not responsible for cards lost in the mail.
Sonic Industries, Inc. reserves the right to audit all prize claims, either directly or indirectly,
in order to identify any misuse of the Pull-and-Win Card Program. Misuse may result in the
recovery of the value of any prize obtained through such misuse. Management level - GM,
Operating Partner, Director, Franchise Owners - are not eligible to win
Pull-and-Win prizes, as this is a crew member incentive.
S.O.N.I.C. GAMES SHOPS
Questions or disputes regarding your S.O.N.I.C. Games Shops must be reported to your
shop company within 5 days of receiving the S.O.N.I.C. Games Shop in question. While the
SONIC brand standard for stall delivery time will stay at 3:30 minutes or less, we are raising
the qualifier for shop average delivery time to 4:00 minutes or less to advance in all stages
of the Games. Shops will be posted on the website up to 3 weeks after they occur.
CALL-IN QUIZZES
The phone lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This allows plenty of time to take all
scheduled quizzes. Questions or disputes must be called into Games Headquarters no later
than the 1st of the month following the quiz in question. It is best to call in the same or next
day of the issue you have. You must have your confirmation number, the quiz time, date,
crew position and the first and last name of the crew member that took the quiz. Busy quiz
lines is not an approved reason for a quiz retake. Quiz scores will be posted on the website the
following business day.
e -STAR CERTIFICATIONS
If Call-In Quizzes measure the training knowledge of a single, outstanding crew member,
then e-STAR Certifications expand your drive-in training across a wider crew. Each selected
e-STAR Learning Course Station Certification earned by an individual employee scores
50 points per certification with 5 certifications rewarded per month. Certifications by
Managers do not qualify. Each certification will be monitored for compliance with
e-Learning login credentials and will be audited by SONIC and Games Headquarters.
FOOD SAFETY AUDITS
You must have a passing score on your most recent Food Safety Audit. If your drive-in
advances at the end of May, but you fail a Food Safety Audit, you will not progress any
further. “Re-audits” do not count as your Food Safety Audit for advancing in the
DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Eligible personnel are employees who perform his/her job in accordance with
SONIC operational standards and are in good standing. It is up to the discretion of each
Manager whether or not the Assistant Manager(s) at the participating drive-ins can
compete in the Games.
• No Multi-Unit Leader is allowed to compete as a crew member in the
Traveling Knowledge Bowl or Final 12 Competition.
• No Manager can compete for another drive-in location in the
Traveling Knowledge Bowl or Final 12 Competition.
• To compete in Traveling Knowledge Bowl you must have been employed with the competing
drive-in for the most recent 90 consecutive days prior to competition. (April - June).
• To compete in the Final 12 you must have been employed with the competing drive-in for
the most recent 90 consecutive days prior to competition. (June - August).
DISQUALIFICATION
By participating in any part of the DR PEPPER SONIC GAMES you acknowledge that
sharing answers with other drive-ins on any part of the competition will lead to immediate
disqualification of your drive-in. This includes sharing information within your own franchise
organization. Managers are prohibited from taking Call-In Quizzes for crew members and
can not help crew members during the quiz. Cheating or falsifying e-STAR Certifications is
prohibited. SONIC and Games Headquarters will conduct random audits of all results.
FINAL DECISION
In all matters pertaining to the interpretation and application of any rule of this program,
the decision of Sonic Industries, Inc. shall be final.
AWARD AND TRAVEL CONDITIONS
Each drive-in advancing to the National Finals will be awarded trips for seven participants
– one Manager and six Station Champions. These trips include the teams’ hotel rooms,
meals, and transportation during the National Finals Competition and SONIC’S National
Convention. All Finalists must be a legal U.S. resident and have a valid ID to board a
commercial flight and must submit ID to Games Headquarters. It is mandatory for the
Final 12 participants to arrive and depart with their team – any other form of transportation
will not be accepted and could lead to disqualification.
TAXES
Any Program prizes earned by any individual may be treated as taxable income upon issuance
of the award and be considered direct compensation for U.S. Federal taxation purposes.
Liability for U.S. Federal, state, or other taxes imposed upon an award is the responsibility
of the award recipient and not the responsibility of Sonic Industries, Inc., Dr Pepper,
or the fulfillment agency. Sonic Industries, Inc. is required to report the
issuance of all applicable prizes to the appropriate taxing authorities,
including the Internal Revenue Service. A U.S. Federal Form 1099
reflecting Program prize value will be issued to Program participants
for the calendar year in which the Program is in effect.
