Cut out all screen-time (phone, TV, computer) after dinner
 Use your weekends to babysit for free
 Send a different person an affirmation email every day of

 Every day take a picture of something or someone you’re grateful for and hang the pictures in your room
I will be doing sit ups to the Hail Mary where I will do one per word each day and lifting it up for a school
family in need. Lent is a time where we place emphasis on prayer and contemplation on the passion and
death of our dear Lord.

IS TEP Testing This Week
ISTEP+ Applied Skills will be administered for grades 3-8
on March 11-13, 2014.
The third graders will take the IREAD test on March 18 and 19, 2014.
Testing will begin promptly each day at 8:00 a.m.. Students who arrive
after this time will not be admitted into the classroom until the test session
has been completed.
Please make every effort to not make appointments on these days. Also,
please make sure your students are well-rested and eat a healthy breakfast
on testing days.

Humane Society Donation Drive
Thank you to Jack Hodde, who is promoting the following donation drive.
For the next two weeks, we will be collecting donations for the
Hendricks County Humane Society. They currently need:
 Canned or dry kitten food
 Canned or dry puppy food
 Animal toys
 Animal bed
 Dog and cat treats
 Animal food bowls
 Cat litter
 New or gently used items such as leashes, collars,
grooming items, toys
 Bleach, laundry, dish detergent
Look for collection boxes by the office and in the middle school hallway "cove". The collection
will run from March 10th thru March 21st. For more information on the Hendricks County Humane Society and ways you can get involved, go to http://hendrickscountyhumanesociety.org/.

7th Grade Carnaval
Carnaval is a Spanish celebration of Fat Tuesday. The
seventh graders decorated eggshells filled with bird
seed then threw them at a wooden target symbolizing
the Spanish tradition of bringing good luck.
St. Malachy Becoming Girls
Please help us reuse your small prescription medicine bottles for a
good cause!
The St. Malachy Becoming Girls groups are working on a parish Lenten project, and
need to collect 1,000 empty, small prescription medicine bottles by March 9.
 Please remove the prescription stickers.
 Make sure the small bottles are empty.
 Bring your empty bottles to the collection bins in the Holy Family Room at St.
Malachy Church, or outside the school office.

2014 State Spanish Competition
St. Malachy participated in the 2014 State Spanish Competition on Saturday, March 1 at Franklin Community High School. The team earned 35 ribbons, placing 2nd in the state in the middle school division.

Brebeuf Jesuit Spring 2014 Open House
March 11, 2014 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
5th, 6th and 7th grade students, please join us for our Spring
Open House. Students and parents will be able to take a tour of
campus, talk with faculty and staff about our academic programs, and coaches about athletic opportunities.
We will also have information available about our co-curricular

Current 8th grade students who will be attending
Brownsburg High School in the Fall should begin
official enrollment process on March 3rd.
