QUALITY INITIATIVES
ACC/AHA Practice Guidelines
Developed by leaders in the field of cardiovascular medicine, the ACC/AHA
guidelines address contemporary practice issues. They assist physicians in clinical
decision making by describing a range of generally-accepted approaches for the
diagnosis, management, and prevention of specific diseases or conditions.

in print, PDF, and PDA versions;

Other Decision Support Tools—Wall charts of key guideline algorithms,
chart stickers, patient-provider support materials;

Clinician Education—Regional education seminars; audiocassette and CD
talks by experts in the field; slide sets for use in colleague-to-colleague education;
self-assessment questions, Webcasts, discussion boards, and other online content
on Cardiosource (www.cardiosource.com). A number of these activities are
offered for CME credit, and the College is expanding its focus to include
continuing education (CE) credit for the ACC’s newest member category, the
Cardiac Care Associate; and
