Women’s Fall Kickoff | August 14th 4-6:30 pm
It can be difficult to manage all the challenges of being a woman in
today’s world. It’s important to have a strong relationship with God and the
support and friendship of other women. We’re excited to be expanding
Women’s Ministry beginning this fall and we’ll be focusing on growing our
relationship with God and building relationships with each other. To begin
developing those relationships, we invite all ladies to join us at our Women’s
Fall Kickoff on August 14th at 4 pm. Come get to know one another, eat,
play games, and learn about what’s coming up in Women’s Ministry. We’ve
planned many ways to get involved including Connecting at monthly social
events, Growing in Bible studies, and Impacting by serving on one of our
committees. There is a place for every woman here at ACC and we look
forward to seeing you at the Fall Kickoff to learn more!
CDF Investment Sunday | August 21st
Have you ever been around someone whose life has radically changed
because of Christ? They’re full of life and their faith is contagious. The
Church Development Fund (CDF) hears those types of life-change stories
every day. Pastor Vince Antonucci, lead pastor with Verve Church, tells
about Gary, a man who avoided church for 30 years but started attending
when he was fed up with his life. After Gary accepted Christ, his life
completely changed, and over the next two years, he shared the message
of Christ with hundreds of people in senior homes and on the streets.
Unfortunately Gary died soon after, but his legacy in this life continues in
Verve’s homeless ministry while his eternity is sealed in the next. As a
benefactor of CDF, Verve is reaching thousands like Gary. Those who invest
with CDF expect a financial return, but they get so much more. We hope
you plan to come on August 21st and learn more about CDF and how your
investment could make an eternal impact.
Benefit Concert | August 28 @ 6 pm
Please save the date of August 28 (6 pm) to attend a benefit concert held at ACC
titled “A Night of Justice for the Fatherless.” This concert features musician Leif
Horrell and speaker Mike Worley, the director of Beautiful Redemption, which seeks
to connect foster children with Christian families who will share the love of Christ.
There are many foster children in Colorado Springs. Think of the Impact the Church
could make on the next generation if one family in each church opened their hearts
and homes to these children.
ASM Fall Kick Off & Fall Programming



Students entering 7th-12th grade this fall, join us on August 10th at 6:30 for a
special ASM Fall Kick Off. We’ve got lots planned so keep on the lookout for
more information! .
The Way starts back up on Wednesdays for high school student beginning
August 24th @ 7 pm.
Cell groups are forming now for middle & high school students! Register at
our table in the Connection Center foyer.
Membership Class | August 14 @ 4-6:30 pm
If you are considering making ACC your church home, we invite you to attend our
Membership Class on August 14th at 4:00 pm. You’ll hear about what it means to be a
follower of Christ, ACC’s story, mission, vision and values, and answers to many of the
questions people have about God and our church. It is the next step in saying “Yes, I
want to belong to the ACC church family.” We will provide a light supper and childcare.

Cardboard Pharmacy for FAME Ministries | August
There are so many places across the world that don’t have access to the medicines
we take for granted in combating headaches, colds, cuts and scrapes, and more. During
the month of August, ACC will be collecting over-the-counter medicines for FAME to
distribute to their ministry partners around the world. Please consider what you can
donate and place your donation in one of the collection receptacles beginning next
week. Lists of medicines we are collecting are available on the insert in the July 31st
program and at www.academychristian.org/events (scroll to the Cardboard Pharmacy
slide).
