CHILD LIFE INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
CHILD LIFE INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
The 13-week Child Life internship features experiential learning. The first week includes an
orientation to our 204-bed facility and Child Life program.
Your 520-hour (40-hour/week plus weekends and community events) commitment will be
divided into rotations giving you experience with all ages: infants/toddlers, pre-school/schoolage children and adolescents.
In varied clinical areas, you will have the opportunity to spend time planning developmentally
appropriate activities for hospitalized children; assist in supervision of activity centers; provide
one-on-one interventions; participate in preparation for and support during procedures and
treatments and conduct medical play sessions, all under the supervision of Certified Child Life
Specialists. You also will have the opportunity to experience a variety of specialty areas.
