PUBLISHER LETTER
CANNES 2015
LVH Magazine has been in existence for quite some
time now. As I reflect on the many years that have
gone by, it is with deep gratitude that I not only
express fond memories but my explicit appreciation
to all those who have contributed endlessly to this
special publication, year after year.
“The Road to Stardom” is a Commemorative Limited
Edition highlighting festivities and exclusive events
and galas held during the world famous Cannes
International Film Festival in Cannes, France.
Featured articles and advertorials showcase colorful
works of art encompassing the diverse backgrounds
of those who are affiliated with LVH Media and or in
the film/fashion industries. The road to stardom is
oftentimes a rocky path, one that requires fortitude
and strong desire. It isn’t the easiest road to travel
on, but for the determined spirit – extreme challenges
are just a way of life. I have to imagine that “the
road to stardom” can be lonely at times, but simply
magnificent once you arrive. Congratulations to all
of the talented celebrities who took the road less
traveled and painstakingly suffered through it all to
follow their dreams of superstardom! This edition is
dedicated to all of you, the shining stars that climbed
to the top of “the road to stardom.”
At this moment in time, I’d like to take this opportunity
to thank associates, friends, contributing writers
and supporters of our life’s mission, to encourage
and inspire youth in education, love, peace and
unity. With a special note of thanks to my friend,
Peter Allman, who has always been a proud sponsor
and contributing writer for LVH since 1995. I will
never forget the day that he introduced himself and
walked into my office on Las Vegas Boulevard and
said, “I’m here to stay.” Since then, our friendship
has flourished tremendously. Another note of thanks
goes to the late Bob Rind, my Chief Editor at the
time. Bob also introduced himself and said, “You
need someone to help you publish in this town,” and
from that day forward, he became one of my dearest
friends. May his soul rest in peace…
share. Thank you to all
the readers who enjoy
our message of hope
and inspiration. Last
but not least, I would
also like to take this
opportunity to convey
my appreciation and
my utmost respect
to my fellow business
associates and partners
who have continuously gone the extra mile to
produce all aspects of LVH Special Edition Magazines
in its entirety. With a formal note of “thanksgiving,”
I would like to graciously recognize our Managing
Editors, Rene Watson and Joy Sutherland for working
diligently on timelines to provide a spectacular
commemorative special edition magazine for May
2015. Additionally, I’d like to say “thank you” to
our talented graphic designer, Patrick of Berlin,
Germany, a tour de force in the completion of “The
Road to Stardom.”
Once again, we will be hosting Jackson Family
Foundation gala events at Villa Oxygene with
Richard Nilsson, Lifestyle Designer Extraordinaire,
commemorating the 7th Annual “Jackson Family
Foundation Week Celebrations,” highlighting World
Peace Night in this special edition (page 25).
Las Vegas Hollywood Magazine has evolved over the
years, reaching out to other countries globally with
our message of hope and will always stay true to our
mission of Love, Peace, Unity and Education. We
strive to make our world a better place and try to
entertain our readers with current trends, newsworthy

THE TROUBLEMAKERS
By C. Mercedes Montgomery / Guilherme Fão
The Troublemakers (TM) are an entertainment company founded by a group of creative and talented individuals
who work in Las Vegas. TM has branded themselves as the energetic “Brazilian Party,” a union between friends
and business partners that stimulate the night life scene in Sin City and abroad. They continuously inspire,
motivate and entertain large audiences and are oftentimes referred to as the “one stop shop” for entertainment
needs, primed for both public and private events.
It all started when two Brazilian friends reconnected and met up in Las Vegas after years of separation. Together,
when surrounded by a crowd, they were fearless. Undoubtedly, they were known as the “life of the party,”
entertaining people everywhere they went, naturally having fun and making a lot of noise! Needless to say, “The
Troublemakers” made their mark on the city that never sleeps and have been evolving ever since. The nightlife
and entertainment scene is illuminated when TM throws a special event since they are more than innovative and
beyond the scope of simplicity, creating an exciting atmosphere with live performances, artistic dancers, DJ’s and
exhibitions to ensure one’s enjoyment and pleasure.
The Troublemaker’s team offers a profusion of services including production and event management to
professional services within their inner circle connections. In collaboration with exclusive partnerships, TM
produces musical and promotional videos nationwide and internationally. Video production is a key element and
fundamental aspect of their business and each team member orchestrates each function without skipping a beat,
from scriptwriting to editing, casting to directing seamlessly.
THE TROUBLEMAKERS TEAM
The Trouble Maker’s team is comprised of four players. The first team member, Rodrigo de Oliveira, a former
exotic acrobat for Cirque du Soleil of 7 years, turn modern day rainmaker for TM, as he is gifted with generating

new business and producing international music videos; 2) Guilherme Fão, the young eccentric businessman and
fashion model whose charismatic personality always wins the crowd over; 3) Juliana Rast, Miss Brazil Las Vegas
2014 winner, model and businesswoman; 4) Neto Cazuma, fitness model, personal athletic trainer and coach.
Additionally, Damon Elliot, the man to rock the parties is Grammy Award winner, music producer and rapper.
Engaging and entertaining audiences with DJ/Producer “Double Face,” his performances led him to an
international world of prominence, creating a big name for himself in the global electronic scene.
WHAT’S NEW
The Troublemakers produced Brazilian singer, Thiago Matheus’ music video, a special tribute song to Michael
Jackson. Matheus launched “Moon Alcool,” on April 28, 2015, reaching over 1 Million views on YouTube within
the first 2 days of its release. The song title “Moon Alcool,” means “Moon Alcohol,” which in turn was inspired
by the most famous dance move of Michael Jackson, The King of the Pop’s unforgettable “Moonwalk.”
Jalles Franca, “MJ The Legend,” who currently performs at Rio Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas is considered to
be the best Michael Jackson impersonator in the world. The video has a very special and exclusive participation
of Mr. Joseph Jackson, MJ’s father.
WHAT’S HOT
The Troublemakers brand is launching its “Heat of the Summer,” mind blowing pool party on Memorial Day
Weekend. Stay tuned, dive in and play with The Troublemakers. Brace yourselves and get ready to party all
night long!

“Arte means ‘art’ in Italian…
Arte all’ arte means Art for art.
I propose a life with art for all people.”
Kaori Ikeda

Arte all’arte

BY RENE WATSON
Born among the historical and exceptionally classic charms of
Kyoto, Japan – possessing a dynamic understanding of the natural
landscape and traditional culture, Kaori Ikeda has stepped into her
greatness with poise and accomplishment. She is the quintessential
modern Japanese woman who has an incredible flair for business,
fashion and art. With her charming and approachable personality,
she is a true force to be reckoned with.
While educated formally at the highly revered Doshisha University, her studies focused on economy and art
curation. After several years of work in art galleries in and around the alluring and prominent Kansai area west
of mainland Japan, and with a deep love for fashion with an emphasis on fashion photography, Kaori arrived as
Chief Curator for the House of Shiseido Gallery in Tokyo. With passion and tenacity she continued to achieve her
goals and became a decisive voice for the City of Shanghai, in regards to art and design elements for new city
events and projects.
She sets herself apart from the status quo and has proven
to be a defining voice in the industry, sharing her expertise
and vision with several universities where she lectures
on curating art. Kaori builds bridges of hope through her
extraordinary art, fashion exhibitions and events worldwide.
Through dedication to her true self, her love of the beauty
and message of art, she established Arte all’arte in January
of 2011. Through this avenue she is able to embrace her goal
of incorporating her art philosophy into all of her initiatives.
Arte all’arte continually showcases exhibitions for many world
renowned clients such as the Rolling Stones, Christian Dior,
Giorgio Armani, Louis Vuitton, Toyota and Valerio Berruti to
name a few.
Her latest enterprise is a simply thoughtful, artful international
brand that focuses on organic skin care and beauty to refresh
the spirit. She has two locations to adore and appreciate,
SULA NYC TOKYO and SULA NYC KYOTO, both in mainland
Japan. SULA NYC TOKYO Salon & Spa was created for both
women and men. To integrate the mind, body and spirit into
one, bringing the masterpiece in all of us to light are most
often times difficult indeed; SULA NYC TOKYO has raised
the bar on client interaction and personal service and has
created a luxury experience that is unmatched in the region.

SULA NYC
Kaori Ikeda
While exploring new products and opportunities,
a dear friend and journalist, Misao introduced
her to an exotic line of skin care products from
Morocco. In 2012, SULA NYC TOKYO was
born. She was intrigued and attracted by the
effectiveness of the Argan oils in making the
skin feel refreshed, smooth and silky. She
made the decision to infuse the splendor of Argan oil into the Asian market and has
turned SULA NYC into the predominant authority in Asia. The rest is history, so to
speak…
Kaori humbly notes that she has learned many wonderfully valuable lessons from
her experiences with people she has met over many years of globetrotting, and it
has truly caused her to develop a yearning to understand her own culture that much
more. Traveling allows her to tap into her inspiration that ultimately renews her
dreams and also refreshes her spirit.
“I think sometimes that we as Japanese don’t understand our cultural
impact very well or appreciate the splendor and beauty of Japan
as much as we really should. To know and learn more about my
Japanese soul, roots, origin and culture that has inspired so many
other cultures is where I would like to focus my learning in the future.”

THE GREAT WES MADIKO
AUTHOR, PRODUCER AND SINGER OF THE LION KING!
GRAMMY AWARD WINNER AND THREE TIMES WINNER OF THE WORLD MUSIC
AWARDS, WES MADIKO – THE KING OF WORLD MUSIC!
He was born in Moutaba, which lies some hundred miles away
from the city of Douala, Cameroon. From the tender age of two,
his grandfather taught him about healing music and how to play
the kalimba instrument. The pair soon became inseparable. His
grandfather taught him his love of Bantu history and the wisdom
of the elephant of animist bantou philosophy. This was responsible
for an important part of his education: “it was in bush school and
during night-time gatherings listening to the metallic beat of the
kalimba that I learned the adventures of the father of all ancestors,
E‘kwa Mutu.“
In 1977, at the age of ten, Madiko became the conductor of
the group Kwa Kwassi, which means “think right“. This musical
formation brought together the most talented youngsters in the
village, who received instruction together in history and art.
In 1987, once more, Wes started to enjoy musical night of the Wouri riverbanks. He was impatient
to get back in touch with the Moutaba spirit, to promote bafoun-bantou tradition and returned to
the home of his ancestors. He revived the Kwa Kwassi orchestra and embarked on a tour in Bafoun
country. A group of tourists turned up and were all bewitched by the music, including a young woman
from Lille, France. And so Wes set off for Europe with his kalimba under his arm.
In 1988, the group Fakol with Benjamin Valfroy and Jo Sene was formed. Fakol played in the
Netherlands and in other countries throughout Europe. Aside from his musical activity, Wes started
to develop an involvement in social work. He visited schools in Lille, and worked with children. Wes
took great pleasure in transmitting the wisdom of the elephants and the ancient history of Africa.
Two years after, Jacques, Wes‘s brother and a talented guitarist, died. Their father died a few months
later following a motorbike accident. These incidents led Wes to meditate on the fragility of the self
saying: “there comes a time when a feeling of uselessness invades you and threatens to break you,
but you hang in there, convinced that there‘s always a breath of life somewhere”.
In 1992 Wes traveled to the US and released the album Roots.
During this tour, he gave concerts in Atlanta, Georgia.

PSIERTJE BOUKHIT
Psiertje is a self-made woman in so many ways – she has everlasting passion, undying energy and
ambition that show in every performance. Being on stage is right where she belongs, easily winning
you over with her intoxicating beats, rhythyms and mixes. Besides her successes as a professional
dancer and entertainer Psiertje also rocks the stage as an international DJ. Her tracks are chosen
with care, her energy easily hypes the crowd and her career is only just beginning to unfold…
Passion is a never-evening story. Being introduced to the music and famous dance moves of Michael
Jackson, Psiertje found herself addicted to dancing ever since. Copying the moves of The King of Pop
in front of the mirror was simply not enough and soon she proudly accepted an invitation to audition
for a dance segment during the Kelis performance at the TMF Awards show
in 2006. Quickly after this experience, Psiertje starred in music videos by
DJ’s such as Eric E, Sidney Samson, Fedde Le Grand, Chuckie, Ninthe and
Don Diablo. Her dance resume also includes performances in commercials
for brands like Nike, Adidas and MTV. Psiertje was also the choreographer
for the (Dutch) BNN Urban Awards and 3FM Year mix, she’s been a jury
member for the NK Street dance and also a dance teacher for the Dutch
success movie ‘Afblijven’ while teaching students at the Theatre Tourshow
for Kristel Zweers. With an ear for music and a hunger for rocking the stage,
Psiertje felt ready to take it to a new level.
After magically charming audiences with her dance performances, Psiertje
now brightens up the spotlight behind the wheels of steel and will soon release
her own high level productions to the world. Psiertje believes (and proves)
hard work pays off and is grateful for her first DJ gigs back in 2010 which
got her DJ ‘ball rolling’. Over the past two years Psiertje has continued to rock events in Holland, has
been the supporting act for Craig David and also happily deejayed on stages in Germany, France,
Sweden, Turkey, Tunisia, Lebanon and Belgium. Her performances at Fashionweek (Cannes), Film
Festival (Cannes) and the Michael Jackson Family Foundation in 2012 are definitely a crowning
achievement on her hard work. When Psiertje is not sharing her energy behind the wheels of steel,
she devotes her time in her studio to produce tracks and complete several bootleg editions for
international artists around the world. So far she has released bootlegs for Neyo, Calvin Harris and
Jon Bon Jovi. It won’t be very long until Psiertje officially releases her own productions. Something to
keep a close eye on!
Psiertje is all about dedication, passion and achievement – so her story is an ongoing one. She is
devoted and passionate, always reaching out to the stars and beyond. Determined to conquer the
world; Psiertje is here to stay!

KOOL & THE GANG
Kool & The Gang has sold over 70 million albums
worldwide and influenced the music of three
generations. Thanks to songs like Celebration, Cherish,
Jungle Boogie, Summer Madness and Open Sesame,
they’ve earned two Grammy Awards, seven American
Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop
hits, and 31 gold and platinum albums.
Kool & The Gang has performed continuously for the
past 45 years, longer than any R&B group in history.
Their bulletproof funk and tough, jazzy arrangements
have also made them the most sampled band of all time.
With the explosion of hip-hop in the ’90s, Kool & the Gang’s incredible catalog of grooves made
them DJ favorites, and they were second only to R&B icon James Brown as sources of rap-music
samples.
2004’s “The Hits Reloaded” found the band collaborating with such artists as Lil’ Kim, Sean Paul,
Ashanti, Blackstreet to name a few. Kool &The Gang continues to perform to packed audiences of
new and old fans around the world. Kool & The Gang remains one of the most active touring bands,
performing hundreds of shows every year.
The band re-entered the Billboard R&B chart with 2006’s Steppin’ Into Love. In 2006, Kool & The
Gang received the NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) Chairman Award for

JOSEPH JACKSON
Joseph Walter “Joe” Jackson (born July 26, 1928) is an American
talent manager and the patriarch of the Jackson family of
entertainers which includes Michael Jackson, The Jacksons 5,
Rebbie Jackson, Latoya Jackson and Janet Jackson.
Joseph Jackson was born in Fountain Hill, Arkansas, the eldest
of five children to Samuel Jackson (1893-February 13, 1992)
and Crystal Lee King (1907-November 4, 1992). His siblings
were Samuel, Jr. (born c. 1930), Helen (born c. 1932), Luther
(1935-2010) and Alfred (born c. 1942). His parents separated
when he was age 12. He moved with his father to Oakland,
California, where he lived until after turning 18 when he moved
to East Chicago, Indiana, to live near his mother. While living
in Chicago, he met his future wife Katherine Scruse.
Settling in Gary, Indiana, Joseph, a former boxer, worked fulltime as a crane operator at Gary’s U.S. Steel company, while
Katherine tended to their children. In the mid-1950s, Joseph
started a musical career with his brother Luther, playing guitar
in a band called The Ford Falcons. The group split up a couple
of years later after failing to get a recording deal. Joseph returned full time to his job at U.S. Steel.
By 1964, Joseph had discovered that his three eldest sons, Jackie, Tito and Jermaine, had musical
talent. He had Tito play for him with Jackie and Jermaine backing up vocally. Seeing their budding
talent, he helped form an early incarnation of The Jackson 5 with two neighborhood youths though
eventually younger brothers Marlon and Michael joined.
Within a few years, the Jackson 5 polished their talents under Joseph’s strict leadership. In 1967,
the Jackson brothers turned professional and began performing in paying gigs, which paid off
after the group got signed to Motown Records in 1968. Shortly afterwards, the brothers became
international recording stars. Joseph’s role as manager dwindled as Motown CEO Berry Gordy began
to take more charge of their act, a role that reverted back to Joseph when he began managing
the entire family for performances in Las Vegas. Joseph also helped his sons seal a deal with
CBS after leaving Motown distraught that the label did not allow the boys creative freedom in the
studio. Within a few years, however, Joseph’s sons each left his management company to sign with
other managers, starting with Jermaine. In 1982, Joseph also managed the careers of his three
daughters Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet until all three eventually left his company for solo ventures.

Olga was born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. At a
very early age, she discovered her musical gift and
talents. Throughout her teenage years she studied
piano at one of the musical schools in Dnepropetrovsk
and managed to conquer a hectic schedule as she
remained very active in her health and fitness lifestyle
as well. She graduated with a master‘s degree in
Management of International Trading. Since 2006,
Olga began working in an analytical agency, as an
Analyst; analyzing steel markets. An entrepreneur
38
at heart, she was very ambitions and determined to
succeed as she intuitively knew she would do great
things with her life. With a passion for art, music and
dance, she moved away from her path in the “steel”
realm and pursued other dreams in the world of dance,
modeling and business ownership.
In 2009, Olga opened a dance studio with two other
partners and successfully developed it. As a successful
businesswoman, she maintained multiple careers and
www .LVH magazine . com
was able to remain active as a speaker at the
International Steel conferences. After one of her
speeches, she got offered a position in Dubai, as
a steel trader. With excitement and optimism,
she relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
in 2012. Since her move, all extra-curricular
activities and hobbies had come to a complete
halt. Only until recently, she began fulfilling
her dreams again of dance and modeling and
will keep pressing forward. If there’s one more
passion Olga would like to discover and pursue,
it would definitely be the world of fashion! With
Olga’s energetic spirit and creativity, it wouldn’t
be a surprise if she conquers it all! One of Olga’s
favorite quotes is “the world does not appreciate
the dullness and mediocrity, it appreciates beauty
and perfection.”

JOE JACKSON‘S DIARY
ABOUT HIS WIFE, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN
KATHERINE
DAY 1-11
DAY 1
“What I can say about Katherine, is she has the gentlest soul of any
one I have ever met. And she loved her children. She was really a very
good mother to the children. She knew where every single one of them
was at all times while she was also working. She did keep them off the
street. Many don’t know this but she helped me a lot rehearsing the
kids. Although she does not celebrate birthdays she knows all their
birthday’s by heart. We’ve
been through a lot together”
Her unique character-when
Katherine and I argue as
couples sometimes do, I am
not worried at all if she is
loud, shouts or screams at
me. But when she gets really
quiet, ooh that is when I know to be very very careful around her. Still
water runs deep. There is so much of Michael in her.
REBBIE
DAY 2
What can I say
about
Rebbie?
She is my eldest
child and as most
first borns do, she
carried the weight
of
responsibility
to look after her
brothers and sisters.
She is a good
daughter,
100%
Jehovah Witness.
She raised all her
children as Jehovah
witnesses. As Katherine had to work, the responsibility fell on her to
cook and look after my other kids. She helped Katherine a lot in raising the kids, and I do have much to thank
her for how she carried herself through the years.

JACKIE
DAY 3
About Jackie... He has a very strong will and does not like being told
what to do. A story comes to mind during his growing up years. I bought
Jackie a brand new saxophone because I wanted him to play some
type of instrument besides just dancing and singing. He looked at the
instrument,
took
it
with
him
to school,
came back
home and
told me as
a matter of
fact that he did not want it. One day, years later he
came into my office and asked me “How come I am not
playing any instruments. I replied, “You said you did not
want it and you put it down”. He inquired why I never
forced him as it would have been good for him. I never
told him why not, but I knew his will was to strong back
then to be forced into doing something he never wanted
to do. That was why I never tried.
TITO
DAY 4
What can I say
about Tito. He
would have been
a good diplomatic
political
leader.
He raised his boys
the right way and
taught them all
the good stuff.
I am very very
proud of the way
he raised his sons,
the 3T’s. What
made the 3T’s
so good is they
copied after their father. Tito had the patience to teach them. Some
of them sleep with keyboards right by their bedside, so if they get
up in the middle of the night with a tune in their head, they write it
down, practice as not to forget it. They are excellent writers, good
producers and good entertainers. He always had cool way about him and my hat goes off to him for the great
job he has done with raising my incredible grandsons.

JERMAINE
DAY 5
Jermaine is the type of Kid who is very sensitive and extremely
good at playing the base guitar. I have not met anyone who
can play the base better than him. He loved to play the base.
He taught some of his kids to play the guitar too! Actually
one of his kids a few years ago was playing the lead guitar
with him on stage. I have always felt that no one can sing a
ballad song
better than
Jermaine.
He has a
God given
talent
to
sing ballads
better than
anyone in
this world. I am not saying this simply because he is my son. I have
been around the block and know quality when I hear it. I only wish
he sang them more often than he does.
LATOYA
DAY 6
Latoya: Latoya is
the type of young
lady who loves
to Entertain. I
think she would
have been a
great
interior
and
fashion
designer. She is
very particular
and likes the
finer things in
life. She has her
show going on
now with the OWN Network and is engaged to someone I like,
Jeffre. She has invited me on her show multiple times and makes
certain to attend any of my events. I have grown very close to her over the years. She has surprised me in a very
positive way. Never in my dreams did I imagine her showing me this much appreciation and love. She calls me
all the time and is one of the few who went on TV and said “My father had a stroke”. I am proud to call her my
daughter and wish nothing but the best for her.
46
www .LVH magazine . com
MARLON
DAY 7
Marlon I can say is a
determined soul. He might
not have been as quick at
getting something right
away as Michael did, but
he would work at it until
he got it. He could put his
mind to something and
stay focused. He did learn
a lot from Michael as they
were both very close in
age. He is a great dancer,
but was in Michael’s shadow so the public never go to discover how
talented he as a solo artist could be. I recently watched him perform
on stage with his brothers, and I could see the moves flow naturally
out of him. I am happy to see him get the recognition he deserves.
MICHAEL
DAY 8
Michael was like this. He was the type of kid who loved kids.
I remember, .. a long time ago, when I used to give him his
allowance after the shows. He would use it all up to buy a lot
of candy. He would get the children in the neighbourhood to
sit down with him in a circle, and he would keep feeding them
candy, laughing and having the time of his life. I would look at
him and it was beyond me, how in the world he got the most
pleasure watching other kids eat candy.
Another thing, he was so fast. That boy was quick. Once we had
a very mean dog in the yard, a black doberman. This dog was
so mean and fierce, we called him by a dictator’s name (I can’t
mention the name). Now every Sunday, Michael would practise
his dancing for about 2 to 3 hours. He had just got done doing
his routine and was out walking with Randy his little brother.
They did not notice that the dog had got out of the yard and it
came chasing after them. Michael was so fast, dashing out of
the dog’s way in the split of a second and jumping on top of the car. The dog did however get Randy, biting Randy
on his back leg. I rushed after the dog and was able to set Randy free. It was very dangerous because Randy
might never have been able to walk again, had the dog continued its bite. Years have gone by and I can still
see it all happening like a movie. How Michael was able to outrun the dog that fast, and still have the presence
of mind to Jump is beyond me.
What else … Let me see, He was also a master at imitation. He could see something once, and would be able to
www .LVH magazine . com
47
imitate it. The songs he did, he did at home, so when he went into the studio, he knew exactly what he wanted.
Somehow he knew how to think ahead.
He did save my life once. During the early days, there was this gang who would come to shows without paying
and take our instruments which we had paid dearly for with the little money we had. My boys and I were getting
ready to do a show, when this group showed up. I
was not having it anymore this time and I stood up to
fight them by myself. I was putting up a fight, when
one of them knocked me in the back of my head
with a microphone, knocking me out cold. As I lay
unconscious, bleeding, little did I know, but Michael
had run into the street to pay phone. He called out
to people walking by if they could carry him, as he
was unable to reach the phone because of his height.
They did lift him up, and he called 9-1-1.
After the ambulance got to the show and worked on
me, I was barely able to get up. I remember Michael
and the boys looking at me with their youthful eyes,
full of confusion as if asking “What do we do know?”.
I looked straight at them and without any hesitation
said “You go on stage and do the show, like nothing
has happened. The show must always go on!” Michael internalized that lesson and over the years, even in pain,
stress, sadness, he would never let the public see it. He was a professional till the end. In my eyes “The Greatest
Entertainer that ever lived”.
RANDY
DAY 9
Randy can play
almost anything
on
stage.
Because he was
too young at
the time to join
the group, and
us keeping him
in all the time
(looking
after
him), he got to
spend most of
his time playing
around in the
studio with almost all the various instruments. As he grew older he
became more the percussionist. He is an extremely good producer
and song writer. He is the one who wrote that famous song on the Jackson’s album, you know… the one… Well
you get this way as you get older. He put together a group “Randy and Gypsy’s”. I loved that album. I think it
would have done much better if they had given it a little more promotion.

JANET
DAY 10
Janet, the youngest in the family is very
very smart. She was more like a tough
kid. She was real rough. I mean she was
rough. What do they call them… yes …
tomboy. She was a tomboy. She could
whop all the girls. She was really rough
and really really smart. She is really easy
nowadays. She has mellowed. She is now
married and living a good life with her
husband.
I always felt that she was a natural when
it came to acting. She did that movie,
with the late Tupac Shakur. I thought it
was a very good movie, and I was very
proud of her performance. As great and
known as a singer as she is, I think the
world has yet to recognize her extremely
great talent as an actress that surpasses
her singing. She wants to have a good
part in a strong action movie. I can’t wait
to see her in one.
She did surprise me once, picking me as
her date to the premiere of the movie
she did with Eddie Murphy. Now Eddie is a great friend and I consider him one of this generation’s greatest
comedians, but right in the middle of watching the movie, as proud as I was of Janet, I never let her know that.
She asked me what I thought and I remember telling her “You should be bigger than this. You should be the lead
actor in the movie and carrying it”. I know the comment upset her, because she became quiet and I knew it. But i
know her so well; that I knew she was going to channel that anger to prove that she could do better and was right.
She came back even stronger with
greater movies. And you have not
seen the best of her yet. That’s my
girl.
When I suffered 4 strokes last year,
and was in the hospital recovering,
only two people in my family
traveled all the way to see in the
hospital. My granddaughter Brandi,
(Jackie’s daughter and my baby girl
Janet) sat right next to me as I lay
in bed, spent time with me, talking
about a lot together. It meant a lot
to me. I lay there listening to her
as she talked about how she was
going to get married. I am happy
for her and wish her nothing but
the best! I never tell you this, but I
am proud of you Janet.

GRANDCHILDREN
DAY 11
I would like to thank everyone for the heartfelt messages of
best wishes on my Birthday. I’m 86 years old and still going
strong. I spent the full week of my birthday between Tokyo,
Barcelona and I am on my way right now to New York via
London. I want to thank the fans who continue to be loyal
and kind to me. Everywhere I have gone, I have been shown
much love. I would like a few words on my 86th Birthday for
all my grandkids. You are so many!
The three pictures are all of me. I never listened to society
when it told me, that my life was destined for the steel mill.
That my offspring to a
life of hardship. I never listened when it judged us by our race. I never listened
when it said our music could not transcend race, culture, boarders or religion.
I never listened when I was laughed at for dreaming I would make my family
(Your uncles) into a music group. I did not care when I heard the laughter of
the neighbors and the mockery and sinister comments. I never listened when
it called my late son names, ridiculed and joked about him. Society would
not have cared had we been on welfare in Gary Indiana, nor would it have
come with a helping hand. It had no chicken in that fight. Why would I care
what it thinks, writes or says about me, now! Why? Why would I?? Why in the
world would I???
All it takes is to believe in you. But you cannot be able to believe in yourself if at the same time you listen to all
the negative comments of others. The two do not go together. Let others spend their time writing and talking
negatively about you. Let them talk, you go and do it! Belief comes with experience. So do not be afraid to feel
scared. It is o.k. Your uncles were scared too. Society may predict, but
only you will determine your destiny.
I remember at the Apollo theater, they had heard that if you can
perform there and they accept you, you can perform anywhere in the
world. But they also heard that if they did not accept you, they would
throw things at you on stage. That scared them like crazy. I remember
watching them touch a little stump on the stage for good luck. After
they got through that show, I could see the belief in their eyes and I
knew nothing could stop us.
Stevana: I would travel all over for you. I remember flying back to
Boston for your graduation. I would not miss it for anything in the
world. It was a great day to watch you graduate. I look forward
always to your calls and visits, the little notes and
touching birthday wishes. You never fail to send
me. Stay focused, the world is yours.
Brandi: You have grown up so quickly. Seems only yesterday you were a baby. Your actions
are true. Coming to the hospital when I suffered 4 strokes and staying by my bedside.
Prince: I know your father Michael raised you right and you will never forget
him. I know you loved him dearly. You are only finding out now how big he was.
I enjoy your calls all the time. “Hi Grandpa, I am just checking on you”: I can
hear that sentence even as I dictate this.

MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY
by Rene Watson
I BELIEVE THAT MARTIAL ARTS
GIVES THEM CONFIDENCE,
INSURANCE FOR THEIR FUTURE
AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY,
EVERYDAY LIFE.
F. ROBEAUX
Fabrice Robeaux hails from the north of France, near
Lille to be exact. A most humble beginning for this
Martial Arts Master whom as a child lived with his
brother in a home where kicks, punches and regular
bullying were a normal recurring event. “They brought
hell to our home and our life,” says Fabrice with deep
reflection. At the age of 6, his older brother introduced
him to the world of Judo and from that moment,
martial arts became his focus, his escape from all of
the madness. Freedom and justice became his credo
and was a driving force in creating what he has become
today.
For several years, he continued to learn and practice
both Judo and Karate, growing more proficient each
and every day. At the age of 15, his life as a martial
artist would truly begin. A Korean Martial Arts Master
from Brussels, Belgium saw his technical quality and
asked him if he would want to learn under his guidance.
Learning classic Taekwondo and Hapkido opened a
golden new chapter, of mentor and disciple, of master
and student, learning traditional Korean martial arts
customs and valuable life skills that allowed him to build
a lifeline for himself and the confidence to achieve his
goals and aspirations. He received his first black belt
at the age of 18 and was well on his way to fulfilling his
life’s work on a path of service for others.
After returning to France at age 20, he created his
first fight club and turned his focus to teaching and
58
www .LVH magazine . com
fostering the development of underprivileged youth. He
continued to hone his skills and expand his knowledge
in other forms of martial arts such as Thai Kick Boxing
and Full Contact Karate in which he received his black
belt as well. He quickly established two schools and
became well respected within his community. For 8
years he remained in France and Strasbourg and
was commissioned to mentor two state athletes who
became recognized professionals in the sport.
the ultimate satisfaction to see his students become
mentors to others. He believes the Master must teach
the student all the values of martial arts, the difficult
techniques, to respect the body, mind and spirit of not
only oneself but more importantly of others. Fabrice
says with a happy heart, “When a student becomes
a mentor, my job is done!” Coming from such a hard
childhood existence, Fabrice finds that his experiences
have the power to motivate and encourage others.
Fabrice created the Martial Arts Academy six years
ago, a United Nations registered organization where
he combines his martial arts philosophy with various
programs designed around educating children,
He says, “When a child tells you that it’s hard… that
it’s too difficult to practice, I tell them of my personal
story, what I have gone through to be a teacher and
to be able to encourage and support the person in
front of me. When they understand the difficulties and
sacrifices it takes, they are hooked!”
disabled youth and adults, police academies, women’s
self-defense and even music therapy. The Martial Arts
Academy has a renowned team of instructors and
mentors for example; a clinical psychologist, Fiona
Fournet; a music therapist and opera singer-Valeria
Florencio, and an entire team of black belt martial
artists. This international team allows them to create
various partnerships with
organizations
around
the world in all areas of
expertise such as fashion,
cinema or music and
thus adds value to the
exchange in friendships.
Over the years, Fabrice
has had many students
and some have now
become
professors
themselves. For him it is
“We live in a society, where there are strangers, bad
people on the streets snatching up children, but they
can get in their heads too... even family, neighbors,
friends… who are worse? They can do harm to children
mentally, physically, kidnap them, abduct them, and
even kill them!! So, before an attack, it is important
that children know how to defend themselves, to know
how to deal with the potential aggressor!! In my classes,
children learn to respect themselves, their peers and
their parents. I believe that martial arts gives them
confidence, insurance for their future and even more
importantly, everyday life.”
Fabrice works especially with children and those with
disabilities. He says we must show them that they are
someone, because for a lot of them, they suffer silently.
His 41 years of experience in the martial arts world
is the result of a passion, a love for the art and the
power that can be exercised when you are focused and
centered.

INDEPENDENT FILM & FINANCING
BUSINESS, TOURISM
AND ENTERTAINMENT
BY DONALD A. BARTON
OVERVIEW: CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
The motion picture industry has proved itself over the
years to be a reliable, resilient industry with a consistent
track record of growth even during periods of broad
economic difficulty. Creative success is achieved
through selecting the proper product (script) and
elements (cast and crew) and mixing it through the
production process. Monetary success is achieved
through potential multiple streams of revenues, such as
theatrical, home video (digital downloads, pay per view),
cable and broadcast television. For the right product,
additional revenue can also be achieved through other
sources, including merchandising and sound track.
Many local productions are successful in their local
market but do not “play“ well outside the local
market. More and more productions are combining
and weaving “Hollywood“ expertise with substantial
local contributions and expertise in order to help bring
a story alive in a motion picture which may give it a
chance to be seen by international audiences. If seen
by international audiences, the picture’s investors
should have a better opportunity to make a return on
their investment and they have the film benefit the local
area through increased tourism.
LOCAL EFFECT ON ECONOMY
Motion picture production creates jobs by using local
actors and crew, adding cash flow, employment,
training and economic effect, and, through the
60
continuing economic
effect,
maintaining
productive jobs, thus
having a substantial
positive influence to
the local economy. If
seen outside the local
area, many pictures
serve to accelerate
and increase tourism to the areas shown in the films.
The direct and indirect economic impact of a film
project has been proven to be many times the budgeted
amount, some of which economic effect will continue
year after year through tourism and job creation. All
economists agree that there is a recognizable immediate
and short-term flow-through multiplier effect on the
local economy from expenditures. Specifically for film
production, recent studies recognize that for every $1
spent on a film production, conservative estimate is
that the minimum of 3 times (and even up to 10 times)
that amount is indirectly spent on goods, services and
employment in the economy; resulting in increases in
hotel occupancy, restaurant usage, even cleaners. The
basic fact is that the film production and its employees
spend their money on local goods and services.
PICTURES AS A LOCAL MARKETING TOOL
AND TO INCREASE TOURISM
Many studies establish that films prove to be a powerful
marketing tool for destinations in the tourism industry,
www .LVH magazine . com
documenting the benefits of film for advertising and
tourism increases on locations and products on a short
and a long term basis.
The long-term impact of movies is first of all caused
by the fact that spectators of movies are much
longer exposed to images than it is the case in other
advertising. Moreover, motion pictures can be recurrent
events as the spectator has always the possibility to
view the same film and images through several viewing
mediums, whether theatrical, DVD, TV, and internet.
Consequently, the memorization of images in films is
much more likely than in traditional advertising, such
as a region advertising itself through travel magazines.
Also, film images persist for decades, providing publicity
and creating identities for a long period of time. The
exposure a film gives a region is an advertisement
viewed by potentially millions of people, an audience
that could not be reached through specifically targeted
tourism promotions.
Another study shows that motion pictures have a
dramatic impact on the choice of a tourism destination.
According to the study, there can be an immense
increase up to 93% within one year after a film’s release
in the number of visitors to locations which were used
for film shootings. Another following study illustrated
that films can increase tourism years after the first
screening.
INDEPENDENT FILM
The independent film sector includes producers and
distributors who operate independently of the “studio
system,“ arranging financing without the involvement
of the major studios.
Every year thousands of
independent films are completed and enter the
distribution marketplace. While major studios occupy
themselves with hugely budgeted (over $100 million)
features, the major portion of film production and
distribution is performed by independents at budgets
from a few hundred thousand to mid eight figures. With
so many films, independent production has long been
the underlying strength of the film industry. For all of
these reasons, a region needs to attract independent
films.
Creatively, a number of “independent“ productions
have won numerous awards and been financially
successful, causing joy in the global independent world
encouraging many to think that not only can art be
served, but so can investors.
FINANCING THE INDEPENDENT FILM
Although independents struggle for a myriad of
reasons, all independent producers seem to have one
thing in common: lack of regular access to consistent
financial backing. Independents would prefer to have
their films fully financed by equity in advance.
Primarily, though, independent producers cobble
together financing, typically on a film-by-film basis,
from a variety of sources. This usually takes the form
of some amount of equity, governmental incentives or
subsidies (where available), plus a loan based on sales
of the film prior to production. Some of these structures
are international in scope and even take months to put
together.
Loan financings vary from private lenders, bank
financing to “gap“ or “super-gap“ financings. The
latter items are to make up the “gap“ between the
film’s budget and its equity or its equity and other
financings, and naturally (due to risk ratio) higher cost
(or, on the flip side, higher return to the financier),
where the other financing has come up short in order to
complete the entire financing. There are opportunities
for long (typically equity, sharing in the upside or profits
of a picture) and short term financing (which normally
does not share in the profits of a picture). Financing
repayment depends on the production company‘s
ability to complete the film within a fixed budget and to
generate enough revenue to service the debt.
Business, tourism and entertainment are thusly
intertwined. There are many opportunities in film
production for proper business to benefit both the
investors and the local economy, and to provide an
entertaining product.
Donald A. Barton is an attorney and producer located
in Century City, California, USA. He has produced,
and participated in the financing, production and
distribution, of numerous motion pictures around
the world, including United States, United Kingdom,
Europe, South Africa, India, Italy, and Canada. He has
produced, and helped producers, develop productions
through the script, financing, production and postproduction stages, into the marketing and distribution
of a motion picture. He has been a panelist speaking
about film production, financing, partnerships and coproductions.

SMASHFACE
RESCUE
KYLE SCHWAB - HEART OF A HEROIC WARRIOR
BY J KIMBERLEE SUTHERLAND
Born in Harrison, New York, Kyle Schwab was
inevitably led to Southern California to live out his
calling, one could say, to fulfill his mission of becoming
a “lifesaver” or “rescuer” for aggressive dogs, hence
the name Smashface Rescue. Schwab is a Behavior
Interventionist and has been living this bold and fearless
journey for more than 20 years. He understands both
human and animal behaviors and focuses on the
external environment. With extensive training and
rehabilitation, he can then offer a list of positive and
negative reinforcements that will help alter and mold
an aggressive dog’s behavioral patterns in a more
desirable way. He serves his community by rescuing
dogs and also offers extensive behavioral training
platforms for individuals, owners and rescue groups;
private and public sectors. Kyle states, “I don’t care
how aggressive the dogs are, I’m looking for compliant
clients that want results and placeable/manageable
dogs.” (12/23/13)
of dog rescue. Simply put, Kyle is a HERO to countless
friends (adopters, animal lovers, cross-posters, doggy
people, donors, fans, flirtatious fans, followers, rescuers,
social media supporters, strangers, transporters and
volunteers); who communicate or “follow” him daily
in person or on social media – because he does what
most can’t do, won’t do or are afraid to do – standing
in the frontlines of enemy territory (animal abusers),
continually fighting (literally in the past) for animal
rights and individual animals that are harmed or
mistreated by irresponsible, heartless humans. Without
Kyle’s compassion, love and determination – most of
the dogs he has saved and continuously saves would
otherwise face an inescapable destiny of either rotating
ownerships through the shelter system or ultimately be
put to sleep (pts), condemned for aggression and/or
incidents with no resolve. For those of us who are not
standing in the front lines or even close to his mission,
the burden is inconceivable and heavy for one man
– yet he is unstoppable and never ceases to amaze
his admirers. Without fail, with only one exception
of a short-lived setback in 2013 – Schwab has always
made time for Smashface and his existing professional
training sessions despite his responsibilities to his own
dogs, personal relationships and health priorities!
Schwab’s firsthand experience and to some extent his
memorable battle wounds would undoubtedly earn
him the right to be called the “Pit Bull Whisperer,” and
a “Heroic Warrior,” as he is THE epitome and paragon
72
Thankfully, Schwab continually educates people
on aggressive dogs/behavior and is not keen on
classifying or labeling “all” dogs of a specific breed to
be deemed aggressive. For example, “all Pit Bulls are
aggressive.” Each dog is an individual and should be
treated accordingly, not stereo-typed and classified as
a whole. Some breeds (Molossers) that are grouped
together and labeled aggressive are called “the bully
breeds.” These breeds consist of, but are not limited to
the American Bulldog, American Staffordshire Terrier,
www .LVH magazine . com
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cane Corsos, Mastiffs and Pit
Bull Terriers. Throughout the years, Kyle has taken in
a variety of breeds under his wings for nurturing and
foster care, but some of his own personal beauties
have been comprised of Corsos, Mastiffs and Pit Bull
British parliament outlawed blood sports, but more
immigrants traveled to the U.S., bringing their bully
breeds with them. The fact that gangs/dog-fighters
have used these dogs as protection, status symbols
and that the media misidentifies dog breeds involved
in attacks has given “bully breeds” a more unfair and
unjust reputation. According to the ASPCA (Animal
Planet 2015), one fact that is often overlooked is that
ANY dog may attack if it’s abused, neglected or trained
to be aggressive. The rest is history.
Fortunately, Schwab’s approach and methodology,
along with other educators are creating an inspirational
movement by increasing “bully breed” awareness
especially through social media gateways, making
a noticeable impact. Schwab continues to capture
the hearts of many and has a profusion of diverse
fans, many of which are loyal “mediaites” that offer
encouragement, good advice and praise. With a
reputation built on ethics, it’s no surprise that he has
his own share of critics, pessimists & “h8trs” – but who
doesn’t? Though on most days – he receives an untold
display of love notes. Well ladies, it’s not difficult to
Terriers. Though muscular in distinction, they are
majestic, regal spirited creatures that make for loyal
and loving pets even though their strikingly good looks
can be intimidating at first glance.
The term “bully” has everything to do with their
origin and history and nothing to do with the dog’s
temperament or behavior. Surprisingly enough, some
of America’s most beloved dogs, such as Boston
Terriers and Frenchies are considered “bullies” too!
Since the 19th century, “bullies” were bred to protect
livestock and property. However, some owners began
to use these dogs in more vile purposes such as blood
sports (bull baiting). At the turn of the 20th century,
understand why you’re smitten – as Kyle is a “man
of steel” and has a heart of gold! What more could
you want? Oh yes, that he STANDS UP for abused,
defenseless, innocent, neglected voiceless animals!
Why on earth wouldn’t anyone be attracted to a person
of his caliber? J Enough said.
As one of the managing editors of LVH Magazine, I
wrote this story about Smashface Rescue in honor of
Kyle Schwab to gain more awareness of “bully breeds”
and to attract new sponsors to his much needed, selffunded rescue. Please join the “Smashface Cause”

Here is how it all began: A Gary department store, Big Top, contacted me to coordinate a Tiny Tots Backto-School Jamboree Fashion &Talent Show for their late summer-fall season 1965. On August 4th, 1965, I
ran a classified ad for the talent in the Gary Post Tribune newspaper and 200 wide variety of talent of all
ages called to audition. Joe Jackson answered the ad. The auditions were held at the then Hotel Gary,
August 1965. This audition with me was part of the beginning of their show-business career their great
success, before Motown before super-stardom, before baby sister Janet was born while their father, Joe
Jackson, still had his popular band, “The Falcons,” and still worked as a crane man in the mills On August
14, 1965, as number 55, they auditioned for me, signing in as Michael age 6, Jermaine, 10, Jackie, 14,
Toriano, 11, and Marlon, 8. They stole the show! On Aug. 14th, 1965 day, I definitely selected them to
appear in the Big Top stores I suggested to Joe to change their name to Jackson Five and Joe thought it
was a good idea, and that is how the Jackson Five name came about for these fabulous entertainers.

Emerging Perfume Designer
and Alchemist,
Kim
Spadaro
By Stacey Barker
m
odern-day Renaissance woman, Kim Spadaro
has built a fragrance line fueled by her sense of
adventure, capitalizing on sensuality and joie
de vivre. Unveiling the layers of the visionary,
alchemist and authentic creator, she has captured her quest to
absorb cultures through her voyages and finds her life’s passion
through the spirit of adventure and journeys of self-discovery.
E. Wharan Jr., along with a team of top surgeons surgically
removed the tumor and restored, even heightened her senses.
Fast forward to 2015, Kim is 100% recovered, stronger sense of
smell, and barely missed a beat taking on the perfume industry
by virtue and originality. In October 2014, as a toast to her
good health and spiritual awareness, Japan was her next stop on
the map. Upon returning from Japan, Kim’s passport was soon
stamped in Abu Dhabi and Oman where she shopped for exotic
oils, met with potential distributors and reestablished global
relationships. While Kim retains leadership at the helm as the
fragrance creator and alchemist, she has taken the company to
a new level by adding a distinguished board lead by CEO, Terri
Schmidt and Chairman, Cory Jones.
“I aspire to leave a legacy of love, peace
and inspiration to my children and everyone
whom I may touch with light and spirit.”
Growing up in Florida, Kim was wonderstruck
at the thought of traveling beyond her borders.
Her childhood was full of exploring and
discovering. From the heat of the warm sun
and the salty ocean, to sailing, she recalls the
scent of the breeze billowing the sails and the
sound of the water lapping the hull of the family sailboat. Since
then, Kim has turned that intimate desire into reality through
exotic adventures, jet-setting and encountering novel worthy
romances along the way, bottling up each experience drop by
drop into its own fingerprint scent.
The milestone for Kim came when she studied clinical
aromatherapy for holistic and well-being purposes. Her oil
blends were becoming desired by many and in demand.
Fueled by a driving force, Kim spearheaded her creativity and
knowledge into creating her brand, Spadaro Luxury Fragrances.
Soon after, the Spadaro Foundation was
formed in honor of her mother, Barbara
Reynolds, who lost her short battle with
brain cancer on January 1, 2011. Spadaro
Luxury Fragrances launched nationally,
on her Mother’s birthday in October
2011.
Today the internationally recognized perfume line is known for
its luxurious scents, infused with rare oil blends…captivating,
spicy, sensual and exotic — words that could easily describe
Kim Spadaro herself. With her natural bohemian flare and
deeply spiritual outlook has become a staple to her personal
mantra and Spadaro’s overall life statement. With her insatiable
appetite to experience and explore new exotic destinations and
roads unwritten, she has taken chances most of us would shy
away from. Spadaro remains focused on her artistic alchemy and
vision, she believes that there is still a great deal of
informed and sophisticated consumers in search of
fragrance as artful and unique as hers.
Life came to a halt in 2014 when Kim
was diagnosed with a benign brain
tumor on her olfactory cortex causing
a diminished sense of smell and taste.
Her prayers were answered when Mayo
Clinic’s Neurosurgeon, Dr. Robert
