hospital's newly renovated
main lobby. Its presence
attests to the determination
and creativity of Merle Klam,
Dorothy Rotholz and our
many volunteers. Of course,

our staunchest philanthropist,
Mildred Lande, C.M., has always been our pillar of
strength.

project after project.
Our success of the new Boutique now depends on
community and Auxiliary support. Visit us whenever
you need gift items, Panache Cookbooks, collectibles,
holiday chocolates and flowers, customized gift baskets
and much more. Our buyers, Merle Klam and Joanne
Marco are continuously seeking attractive giftware
items.
At The Auxiliary Executive and Board level, bringing
sophisticated fundraising initiatives to life and providing
educational programming, brings dedicated and passionate
women together to make it all happen. We are always
ready to embark on new challenges.
We wish our members and their families a healthy and
happy Passover.

Since taking on the position of Director of The
Auxiliary, I have been astounded by the
extraordinary level of commitment and
dedication by everyone at the hospital, but the
contribution of The Auxiliary is second to none.
Our volunteers are invaluable. We have
achieved so much. There is no magic. It’s the
people, it’s you, our volunteers. Your selfless
donation of time is the most precious gift of

clothing, collectibles, housewares,

Enrichment Award
The Helping Heart
Project is an initiative funded by The
Dr. Ernesto Schiffren, Chief, Internal Medicine, Nancy Rubin,
Director, Rona Green, Immediate Past President,
Dr. Vicky Tagalakis, recipient, Linny Blauer and Phyllis Karper,
Co-Presidents

Dr. Vicky Tagalakis is the first recipient of
this award which will apply $3500 towards a
Women Faculty Professional Development
Seminar sponsored by the Association of
American Medical Colleges and Harvard
Medical School. This 4- day seminar is
destined to advance women’s positions in
academic medicine and develop leadership
skills.
Auxiliary. We provide complimentary heart-shaped
pillows to all post-cardiac surgery patients. During
their recuperation, hugging these pillows stablilizes
the sternum and rib cage, thereby alleviating pain
when the patient coughs.
