What wonderful reading we have from Isaiah
today! It presents the image of the messianic
banquet, a time of abundance and grace from
God. Jesus too presents a banquet story, but his
parable introduces a qualification at the end.
Consider that we are among the guests recruited
from the main roads, “bad and good alike.” We
are still expected to prepare ourselves. How are
you preparing yourself for the heavenly
banquet?

Andrew Church on Saturday October 4,
2014. May the dear Lord bless them with
many happy years together.
Messages from Father Dick
In an attempt to see if we can help lessen the
parish heating bills at least a little bit this winter
we will not use both churches on alternate weeks
for daily masses. Instead all the daily masses from
November through the end of March will be held
at Saint Andrew Church or at Saints AndrewThomas School. Both churches will be used for
weekend masses as usual!
Saint Andrew Cemetery The old archway at the
cemetery was recently removed because it was no
longer structurally safe. We were able to salvage
the angels and the marble markers and we will see
if they can be repaired or used in another project
somewhere. A stone wall will be built across the
old entrance way to match up with the wall that is
presently there.
A special thanks to the Diocese of Madison
(Apostolate to the Handicapped) for giving Saints
Andrew–Thomas Parish a grant in the amount of
$12,809.22 to be used for the installation of an
Automatic Door Operation at Saint Andrew
Church. This is the entire cost of the installation
and will be of great benefit to those who use
wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc. and those who are
just beginning to find the doors a little heavy to
open easily anymore. Work on the installation of
the necessary wiring, etc. should begin soon.
