Our Territorial Leaders – Commissioners Clive & Marianne Adams sent a very
generous letter of appreciation for all who made last Sunday so special.
‘The Boscombe Corps is a fine example of a vibrant community of God’s people.
It was a pleasure spending the day at this great Salvation Army Corps’.
Thank you for the flowers
The flowers today have been given by two families within our Corps.
Mrs Vi Hawkins gave the Pedestal flowers “In loving memory of Reg’.
The flowers on the Holiness Table have been given
‘In loving memory of David’ by Songster Lynette Gregory & Family.
News from International Headquarters
We have been informed that the £4000:00 which was sent to the International
Congress Office for the ‘Mind the Gap’ programme will mean that we will sponsor
five International Delegates who will now be able to come to the
‘Boundless Congress’ at the O2 Arena in July 2015. The £4000:00 gift from the
Boscombe Corps was part of the 2014 Harvest Altar Service.

Urgent Request from the BH1 Team
We are looking for one or two volunteers to serve Tea & Coffee on Thursday
afternoons from 1:00pm – 4:15pm. Please speak to Len Doyle if you could help.
Annual Appeal 2014 Standing Days – We need your help please.
The Boscombe Corps have been allocated a number of Standing Days in the next
few weeks. The first is on Friday 24th October from 10am – 5pm in the
Town Centre. The second is on Friday 17th November at Castle Point from
10am – 5pm. We are allowed four Collectors throughout our allotted time. Please
put your name on the Collectors Sheet which is on the Main Notice Board.
The Promotion to Glory of Bandsman Peter Legg
Peter Legg a former soldier of the Boscombe Corps has been Promoted to Glory.
The Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Peter will be held at
The Salvation Army Kettering Corps on Friday 17th October at 3:30pm.
Announcing - Pet Sunday 2014 at Boscombe
On Sunday 16th November (AM) we are pleased to announce ‘Pet Sunday’.
Bring your Cats, Dogs, Spiders, Snakes, Rabbits, Fish and yourself to this special
Sunday when we give thanks to God for our pets. The RSPCA is on stand-by!!
Operation Christmas Child

PRAYER MATTERS
Aspects of Service:Monday 13th Caring……1 Peter 5 v 7 Pray for all people serving within the
community in a caring ministry. We are also asked today to remember those
serving in the U.K. diplomatic services based in Embassies etc. To quote
scripture “ Care for others because He cares for you.” Song 378. Pray for
James and Doreen Gilbert… Mike Glassey (Scouts)
Tuesday 14th Publishing......John 20 v 31. The written word is so important.
Pray for the Publishers and Editors of Christian literature. Pray for people who
read the War Cry, Kids Alive, The Salvationist, All the World and other S.A.
publications. Do your best to publish God’s word. Song 829….Pray for Alan and
Eileen Goldsworthy, Colin, Sarah, Eleanor and Grace Goodyer.
Wednesday 15th Evangelising……2 Timothy 4 v 5 “Do the work of an evangelist”
Pray for those committed to Christian evangelism. Preachers, Hospital and Prison
Chaplains, Those who distribute Christian papers in the street, The outreach
ministries of the S.A. in the UK. The Boscombe Corps evangelistic programme.
Salvation Army Musicians evangelising through their music. Song 323 v 3. Pray
for Beryl Grey, Rob, Rebecca, Aaron and Maisie Greenwood. Lynette Gregory and
Jessica Thompson.
Thursday 16th Visiting…….Matt. 25. V 36 This is a worthwhile task for
Christians to offer pastoral care to the sick, those living in residential homes,
the elderly and shut-ins. We include our friends and members of the Corps.
Pastoral visitors need our prayers. Pray for our Officers as they visit their
people. Song 610 v 1. Pray for Len and Margaret Griggs, Carl, Tracey Hannah.
Bill and Carol Harding.
Friday 17th Music Making…….Ephesians 5 v 19 Musicians are mentioned so many
times in the Bible. Music within worship is so important. Pray for Gospel Choirs,
Worship groups, Soloists, S.A. Bands and Songsters. Remembering especially our
own Corps musical sections and give thanks to God for their ministry and service.
Song 32 v 3. Pray for Maureen Hathaway, Alice Hawkins, Vi Hawkins, Eddy,
Deborah, and Amy Hayes.
Saturday 18th Programming……Isaiah 46 v 11. God’s plan and programme for His
people is to be followed. Every church has a responsibility to programme its
resources. Pray for our Corps planning groups, the leadership team. Support in
prayer each part of the Corps programme. Song 593. Pray for Andrew, Jude,
and Georgina Hendry. Betty Henning, Peter Hepple. Rev. Roy and Margaret Hicks.
Sunday 19th Counselling….Psalm 73 v 24. We all benefit from spiritual guidance.
Christian Counsellors need our prayers. Pray you will be used to counsel someone
in need. Pray for Mercy Seat Counsellors within our Corps. Song 345 v 4.
