Bi-Steel is a patented steel and concrete
composite material which can be
manufactured to a range of sizes and
features in many of our solutions. The
system offers excellent strength and
performance and is used for Blast
Protective Structures, Ballistic Protection,
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation and resistance
against Physical Attack.
Our teams deliver consultancy, design
and construction services through the
entire project life cycle, from feasibility
studies and business cases to design to
site and contract management, including
participation in design and build
partnerships.

Redeployable Hostile Vehicle
Mitigation
Permanent Hostile Vehicle
Mitigation
Tata Steel Projects have developed a
complete range of Surface Mounted
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) systems.
The range includes barriers, bollards,
gates and other accessories that require
no fixings into the surfacing.
The capabilities of Tata Steel Project’s
permanent Hostile Vehicle Mitigation
products are such that they offer a
high degree of protection from not
only deliberate vehicle attacks but also
subsequent blasts from either Vehicle
Borne Improvised Explosive Devices
(VBIED) or Person Borne Improvised
Explosive Devices (PBIED).
The advantages of our systems is the
rapid installation and removal time, with
no need for surface preparation, and also
the inherent Blast and Ballistic Protection
make these products an invaluable tool
for protecting major events such as
Political Conferences, Major Sporting
Events and other events where large
numbers of people gather.
As with all our products; the permanent
HVM range is designed for ease and
speed of installation. The products can
be tailored to suit particular locations
and can be overtly visible to deter attack
or, alternatively, designed to blend into
the streetscape should that be the clients
requirement.
Protective Construction
Using Tata Steel Project’s solutions
driven approach and unique products it
is possible to offer very high level Blast,
Ballistic and Physical Attack resistant
construction. This construction can
be used in a wide variety of structures
both for new-build and retrofit and in
applications such as High Compound
Walling, external cladding, volumetric
building construction, panelised building
construction, creating safe areas within
buildings and many more.
Furthermore; our solutions can use
Modular and Offsite Construction
techniques to reduce construction
programmes and enhance quality,
durability, sustainability and health &
safety.
