her request, her cremains
will be laid to rest with her
parents on Sunday, Oct. 12,
2014, at 9 a.m., at the Hot
Springs Cemetery in Truth or
Consequences, N.M.
Lydia will truly be missed
by all her family and friends.

STEVEN VALENCIA
Steven T. Valencia, 76,
entered into eternal rest
on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014,
surrounded by family.
He was born May 9, 1938,
in Hot Springs, N.M., to
Felix and Isabel Valencia. He
grew up in Cuchillo, N.M.
Steve served our country
honorably as a member of the
United States Navy and U.S.
National Guard. He retired
from the U.S. Postal Service
LYDIA GONZALES
Lydia Aguirre Gonzales was
born May 1, 1941, in Elephant
Butte, N.M., to Rosendo and
Ignacia Aguirre.
She is survived by her two
daughters, Donna (Antonio)
Armijo and Deena (Tomas) De
La Riva; five grandchildren,
Tomas De La Riva Jr., Julian
De La Riva, Megan De La
Riva, Selestra De La Riva
and Antonio Armijo III;
one
great-granddaughter,
Layla De La Riva; two
sisters, Louisa (Raymond)
Apodaca and Dolores (Nick)
Ortega; brother-in-law, Louis
Trujillo; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; and one sister,

If foreclosure proceedings
are instituted, a reasonable

“Recovery of Past Due Bills:
As an alternative to filing
foreclosure proceedings to
recover any past due bill,
the City may proceed with
any other allowable legal
proceedings to collect the
amount owed. In such event,
the City may also seek

Steve is survived by his
loving wife, Esther, of 26
years; daughters, Gwen
Thompson (Billy) of Grants,
N.M.; Brenda ValenciaCirar (Nick) of Truth or
Consequences, N.M.; Janet
Godfrey (Edward), also of
Truth or Consequences;
Renee
Pantoja
(Andy)
of Las Cruces, N.M.; six
grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by
his parents, Felix and Isabel
Valencia; and son, Felix
Valencia.
At
Steve’s
request,
cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held
at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 11,
2014, at Getz Funeral Home,
1410 E. Bowman Ave., Las
Cruces, N.M. Concluding
service interment will follow
in Hatch, N.M., at Garden of
Memories cemetery.

salmon eggs for trout.
Lake Roberts: We had no
reports from anglers this week.
Quemado Lake: Fishing was
fair to good using Power Bait,

trout. A few tiger musky were
caught by anglers using crank
baits.
Snow Lake: We had no reports
from anglers this week.
Young Pond: Fishing was
very good using liver and hot
dogs for catfish. We had no

for a local family in need. The end result was a combined
