On most Sunday mornings, the children are to go directly to the Godly Play room on the second floor prior to the beginning of the service. On Sunday mornings when there are baptisms, the children come to church with their families, then go to Godly Play after witnessing the baptism. An acolyte will lead them to the Godly Play room. Parents will be guided by Vinnie, Trinity’s Security Officer, and ushers. Compline Trinity will offer Compline at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19. You may choose to sit in the candle-lit chancel or in the darkened nave for the 20-25 minute service. The Sigourney Street doors will open at 7:50 p.m. Let Us Pray Parish Cycle of Prayer: In our parish cycle of prayer we pray for Adell Hankerson; Jane Harris; Devon, Cynthia and Rochelle Harrison; Helen Hart; and those who serve as members of the Healing Team. Grounds Work Day The Property Team has scheduled its next grounds work day on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00 a.m. noon. Questions? Call Peter Green at 860-236-1457 or contact him via email at [email protected]. Heads Up! Hartford will hold a Super Youth Group Meeting at North United Methodist Church in Hartford on Sunday, October 26th, from 2 - 4 p.m. HUH youth, past and future, and their families are invited to attend. If you're interested, contact Linda MacGougan, Trinity's HUH rep., or Patti Cole, the Dir. (860-416-0325.) All Saints’ Bulbs Requests Again this year, Trinity is offering its members and friends the opportunity to donate flower bulbs in memory of departed loved ones. For a suggested offering of $1, you may name a person in whose memory a bulb will be planted. Please send your contribution for the bulbs and the form (found on the communication tables in the back of the church and in Goodwin Hall) to the parish office by Tuesday, October 28. Warm Clothing Collections Throughout October The Outreach Team is hosting a drive throughout October to collect new and gently-used warm clothing, (coats, shoes, boots for children and, adults and new t-shirts and socks, especially for men) through next Sunday, October 26. These items will be distributed by those at Christ Church Cathedral, as part of their "Church Street Eats" feeding program. A collection table will be in Goodwin Hall where items may be dropped off. Discernment This Sunday continues a period of discernment for each member to consider how he or she will support God's mission for Trinity Church. Each week a member of the parish will share their thoughts on stewardship during worship continuing today with Casey Rousseau. As part of the discernment process the annual appeal team is recommending that each parishioner read the book Thrift and Generosity: The Joy of Giving by John Templeton Jr., and the wardens’ report to the congregation (available on line at trinityhartford.org). Several parishioners have offered their homes for book discussions. There are still some spaces left if you would like to attend a book discussion and share your thoughts. If you haven't signed up for a book discussion yet, please contact Lily Miller at [email protected]. "Remember that the person who plants few seeds will have a small crop, the one who plants many seeds will have a large crop. We should each give then as we have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty, for God loves the one who gives gladly and God is able to give you more than you need, so you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause." 2 Corinthians 9:6-8.
