Sunday Celebration 10:25 a.m. – October 19, 2014 WELCOME TO FRIENDSHIP COMMUNITY CHURCH! If you’re visiting for the first time, please relax and know we are seeking to know God better just like you. We hope you experience some friendly smiles and handshakes today! We invite you to take the next step to deepen your friendships by attending a life group on Sunday or Wednesday night. You’ll make new friends and experience a deeper level of fellowship! Friendship Life Groups are a place where friendships can grow and learning and serving together becomes a joy! FCC is committed to helping parents focus on worship each Sunday by providing a friendly and caring NURSERY for children ages 3 and under. The Nursery is located out the east door just past the kitchen. Children ages 4 through 4th Grade are invited to FRIENDSHIP COMPANY during the message this morning! What’s Happening? SUNDAY NIGHT FRENDSHIP LIFE GROUP, meets 6:30 -7:30 pm at the church in the Friendship Company Room. Join us as we go through the book of Galatians and be encouraged by the gospel of grace and the fruits of the Spirit. Everyone is invited to attend! FAMILY NIGHT AT FCC FOR ALL AGES will meet starting with Pizza at 6 pm ($1 donation) and groups for all ages at 6:30 – 7:30 pm. See you Wednesday night! Small groups are where friendships thrive! Invite a friend! FAMILY NIGHT LIFE GROUP: meets every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30. The study topic is Lead Your Family Like Jesus. If you are looking for a way to connect with fellow Christians and be strengthened by one another, we invite you to com, learn, and grow! – Dave and Terry McFarland A YOUNG ADULT LIFE GROUP meets at 6:30 in the PUSH room on Sunday nights. If you are between the ages of 18-25 you are invited to join us for food and fellowship! WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY: This Beth Moore nine session DVD series is a topical study of Inheritance throughout God's Word. The key verse is Psalm 16:56, "The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance." This study will be on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. beginning Wednesday, October 29. Cost is $6.50 for the book. All women are invited to attend. Invite a friend. FALL FAMILY NIGHT CARNIVAL: will be taking place Saturday November 1 from 3:30-5:00. We are looking for volunteers to help with set up, games, and clean up. If you would like to help, contact Renee, Kelly Vander Leest, or Shaelee. Candy donations can be put in the box in the entrance. “ADOPT” A COLLEGE STUDENT: If you would like to support and encourage a college student this school year, sign up on the form on the front table and find Shaelee after the service for more information! LEVI WIELENGA HAS ACCEPTED THE NOMINATION TO THE LEADERSHIP TEAM. If there are no biblical objections from the congregation Levi will be installed on a Sunday to be announced. We thank Paul Thompson, whose three year term has ended, for his faithful service to God and Friendship Community. PRAYER SUMMIT: WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT PRAYER AND SEEKING GOD'S FACE? If yes then attend the Prayer Summit held Friday 7-9 pm October 24 and Saturday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm October 25. If you can’t attend both days just come to one. Come and be inspired and encouraged in your prayer life. The keynote speaker, Rev. Moses Chung, says, “Prayer is as vital as the air we breathe. If we don’t pray, we die—spiritually.” Moses was raised as a part of the Korean prayer tradition and is currently serving as Director of Home Missions for the Christian Reformed Church. Breakout sessions will include: “Listening Prayer” by Tony De La Rosa, Rejoice Community Church in Le Mars; “Prayer Saturated Churches” by Barb Hibma, Classis Heartland Prayer Coordinator; and “Praying for Your Pastor” by Shawn Lohry of Yasha Ministries in Sioux City. The cost is $10. Please fill out a registration form and give it to Shaelee or put it in the basket by the church office. Contact Shaelee or Verlyn to car pool to the event. Thanks!
