The Manager, Emergency Department is a key leadership
role in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) and
reports directly to the Director, Critical Care and Medicine
Services. This position is responsible and accountable for
providing the direction, leadership and organization of the
Emergency Department in support of the vision, mission
and business plan of Alberta Health Services. The position
is responsible and accountable for making key decisions. As
well as having direct leadership responsibility for establishing
and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the
Emergency Department at MHRH.
The Manager, Emergency Department will develop and
maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders
in order to provide leadership to the Emergency Department
at MHRH.
QUALIFICATIONS
•
A minimum of a Bachelor of Nursing, plus eligible for
registration with CARNA.
•
A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in combined
front-line/management positions in health care.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience
on emergency units.
•
Progressive leadership experience in an acute care
environment, including 5 years of experience in a
management role in acute care operations preferred.
•
Demonstrated ability to manage, change and create
innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
•
Ability to manage human, financial and physical
resources within an operating environment.
•
Ability to deliver customer focused results while
planning, organizing and managing short and long term
plans and projects.
