Fraud case registered
in minor rape case
BANGALORE, Oct 24: A
case of fraud has been
registered against the school in
Bangalore where the recent
incident of sexual abuse of a
three-year-old student took
place as the educational
institution has no record to
prove that it is affiliated by the
Central Board of Secondary
Education (CBSE).
"A case has been registered under Section 420. They
are cheating the public as the
school has no records to
prove it is CBSE affiliated,"
said Commissioner for Public
Instruction
Bangalore Police had earlier on Thursday detained a
suspect and filed a criminal
complaint against the school.
'Narendra Modi is anti-Muslim, anti-Pakistan'
NEW DELHI, Oct 24
People of Pakistan really understand your ill-intentions towards
Pakistan."
NEW DELHI/NAGPUR/
MUMBAI, Oct 24
Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he is
anti-Pakistan and anti-Muslim, and that he cannot dictate terms to
his country on the peace process.
"Prime Minister Modi is your Prime Minister, not Pakistan's
Prime Minister. We don't get any dictations from him. We
know his credentials. We know his anti-Pakistan credentials.
"Now, it may be a red line for you that people of Pakistan
or the Foreign Secretary must not meet the Hurriyat (leaders).
That is not our red line. We do not follow your red line," he
told Headlines Today.
Musharraf, who had conducted dialogue process with Prime
Minsters Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Manmohan Singh, said
while he used to meet Hurriyat leaders every time "why is
there a change of heart. That itself shows and proves the antiPakistan creden-tials of PM Modi."
He said the Pakistan government under Nawaz Sharif has
been extremely positive on the peace process. "In fact they
have been maligned for being overly appeasing towards India.
"...when you say he had invited PM
Nawaz Sharif, Sharif invited him to
Pakistan and he didn't come."
The central BJP leadership is
sticking to Devendra Fadnavis
as its first choice as
Maharashtra chief minister and
has taken a dim view of the
lobbying for Union rural
development minister Nitin
Gadkari.
BJP sources dismissed as
inconsequential the "show of
strength" by Gadkari partisans who, according to
reports, had on Tuesday gathered more than 30 MLAs to
sign on to the 'Gadkari-asCM'
campaign. "This was an amateurish and non-political act,"
said a senior party source,
reflecting the leadership's annoyance.
That the muscle-flexing by
Gadkari loyalists came in
spite of clear indications of
the party leadership preferring
Fadnavis for the top job was
interpreted as an act of insubordination and has not gone
down well with the leadership. Gadkari has distanced
himself from the numberflaunting by his camp, saying
MUMBAI, Oct 24
A paan or betel-leaf seller in Haryana has got a shocker of an
electricity bill this Diwali. His bill is a whopping over Rs 132
crore.
Rajesh, who runs a shop in Gohana town in Sonipat
district, has got the electricity bill of Rs 132.29 crore for
the month of October.
"I was shocked to read the amount. It is not that the
amount was printed wrongly only in numerals. The full
amount was written in words too," Rajesh said.
"I am a simple man with a small shop on rent. I use
only a light bulb and a fan. My electricity bill is generally
less than Rs 1,000. This bill is an absolute shocker," he
said.
e said he will be visiting the electricity department office
on Friday to get the bill rectified.
The bill was issued by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran
Nigam (UHBVN).
In the past also, the power department in Haryana has
done such goofs.
A consumer in Haryana's Narnaul town got another
shocker of an electricity bill in April 2007. Murari Lal was
slapped with a bill of Rs 234 crore for the electricity used
in his two-bedroom house.
I think this is a mistake of the computer, matter will be
looked into. Man will only have to pay rectified amount: S
Prasad, ADC Sonipat. -IANS

"He (Modi) is taking a confrontationist course with
Pakistan. So this red line that he has declared is confrontationist
certainly. It is not peaceful. And when you say he had invited
PM Nawaz Sharif, Sharif invited him to Pakistan and he didn't
come," Musharraf said.
The former army chief said, "PM Modi and India today is
in an aggressive stance to browbeat Pakistan."
He said Modi started with negative credentials as far as
Pakistan is concerned. "He started, what we are seeing from
across the border here in Pakistan, that he is anti-Muslim, antiPakistan. These are his credentials with which he started and
he was even denied visa to United States."

As per reports based on

Maharashtra BJP legislators' meeting likely on Monday
MUMBAI, Oct 24
The process of BJP
government formation in
Maharashtra is expected to be
expedited with a meeting of
party legislators likely to be
held on Monday.
"A meeting of BJP legislators is likely on Monday,"
a party functionary said, adding that state unit chief
Devendra Fadanvis was the
frontrunner for the chief minister's post. "...The action
will start next week," he said.
RPI
leader
Ramdas
Athawale, who met Shiv Sena
president Uddhav Thackeray,
said Uddhav was "very keen"
on forming the government in
alliance with BJP.
"The BJP legislature party
leader would be elected after
Diwali. Central observer
Rajnath will be in Mumbai
after Diwali, and the new
leader, who will become the
chief minister, would be
elected in his presence," the
BJP functionary said..
State
BJP
president
Devendra Fadnavis was the
frontrunner for the CM's
post, he said. The party was
using the interim period to
shortlist those who would be
in the ministry. So far, the
focus is only on having BJP
legislators in the ministry, he
said, declining to comment on
whether Sena may find a
place in the new dispensation.
With NCP offering "unconditional" outside support,
some BJP leaders feel the
Sena is no longer in a position to dictate terms.
he did not wish to return to
state politics.
The parade of MLAs organized by his backers came
after the leadership decided to
form the government without
waiting for Shiv Sena to reveal its hand. Sena has since
mellowed, with Uddhav
Thackeray conveying his desire to meet Prime Minister
Narendra Modi.
BJP sources said the
firstever BJP CM of the state
will head a lean team of ministers. In keeping with Modi's
concept of 'minimum government, maximum governance',
the ministry may comprise 25
to 30 members.
Also, while earlier there
were indications that Fadnavis
would be sworn in on Monday, the tight line-up of
events and delay in opening
formal talks with the Sena
may push back the function
to Tuesday or Wednesday,
sources said.
Modi is certain to attend
the swearing-in ceremony,
sources said. On Saturday,
the PM will be in Mumbai
for the inauguration of a hos-
pital and on Sunday, he is
hosting a 'chai pe charcha' for
NDA constituents, which
Sena too will attend. The
meeting of new BJP MLAs
with central observer Rajnath
Singh will happen only on
Monday, and it is only after
that that the swearing-in can
take place.
Fadnavis landed in Nagpur
from Mumbai on Tuesday
night, soon after a group of
Vidarbha MLAs had called
upon Gadkari at his residence
and said he should be CM.
Fadnavis refused to speak
on the issue on Wednesday,
saying, "What is wrong on
the part of newly elected
MLAs, many of them firsttimers, if they call on a senior
leader?" The Nagpur SouthWest MLA, who won an
election for the fourth time,
spent the day meeting people
at his residence.
He is expected to stay put
in Nagpur for the next couple
of days and celebrate Diwali
with family. Looking his
usual calm self, Fadnavis
seemed to exude confidence
on Wednesday.
Chidambaram on non-Gandhi Congress
chief : "I think so. Someday yes"
NEW DELHI, Oct 24
Senior Congress leader P
Chidambaram on Friday said
that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul
Gandhi should “speak more”
and put in action a timetable that
would enable the party to play
the role of “true opposition” at a
time when the morale of party
cadres is “pretty low”.
He also said that the reorganisation of the party was
due for the larger task of
being an “effective, strong
and robust opposition” to the
government.
Chidambaram said that
Congress president Sonia
Gandhi was “numero uno” in
the organisation and that the
decision in Jaipur in January
2013 to make Rahul Gandhi
vice-president was “perhaps
the correct decision”.
Steering clear of questions
about clamour within a section of the party for Priyanka
Gandhi, he urged the Congress president and the
vice-president “to speak
more. I would urge them to
address more rallies, urge
them to meet the media...”
“I agree that Congress
morale is pretty low. But I
don’t agree that the morale
cannot be lifted. Direction
cannot be given...I am sure
the Congress leadership has a
timetable.
“I would urge again that
timetable be shortened and we
get on with the job of a reor-
ganising the party and getting
on with the job of being true
opposition,” he told media, replying to a question about
doubts being expressed about
Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
Asked can a non-Gandhi
become the Congress president, he said, “I think so.
Someday yes”, but was quick
to add, “I do not know” when
asked about the timeline for
such an eventuality.
To a question as to why
the party was over-dependent
on one family to lead it, he
said, “It so happens that he
(Rahul Gandhi) belongs to
that family but that does not
mean other younger leaders
cannot emerge. After all
Sachin Pilot has emerged.”
