YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE
If you want a better understanding of our faith, and a
deeper relationship with God, then you should join us for
The Bible Timeline Study.
The Bible Timeline is a Catholic Bible study that can help
anyone to make sense of the bible and experience the lifechanging power of God’s Word. The study takes you on a
journey through the entire Bible and brings you deep into
each period of salvation history, so that you can discover
the amazing story woven throughout all of Scripture. The
Bible Timeline has helped hundreds of thousands of people
to have a better understand the bible and a deeper relationship with Christ, and it will help you too.
The study will include a series of twenty-four videos presented by Jeff Cavins. (Perfect attendance is not necessary.) Each video will be preceded by a lively group discussion.
St. Ambrose will begin The Bible Timeline on Thursday,
November 6th at 9:30AM and 6:45PM in the Pastoral
Center.
Sign up forms at each entrance to church.
For more information contact Greg Mattingly at 210-2628
or Mary Ann Bray at 465-4049.
DONUT SUNDAY
Please join us this Sunday, Oct. 26th
after Masses for donuts, coffee and juice.
We thank the St. Ambrose School Parent
Association for hosting this month.
Men's Bible Study
The conflicts of the early Christians in Corinth are in
many ways similar to our struggles today as Christians.
They, too, witnessed division, scandal, immorality, persecution and other trials. In response, St. Paul taught the
Corinthians about the Church as the Body of Christ, introducing them to the most powerful gift of all: the
Eucharist.
Join us for First Corinthians: The Church and the Christian Community at St. Ambrose Pastoral Center every
Saturday. For more information call Greg Mattingly at
210-2628 or [email protected]
Mass of Remembrance
In an effort to remember and pray for your departed loved one we, the Faith community of St.
ambrose lovingly welcome you, your family and
friends to participate in the
Liturgy of All Souls
Monday, November 3rd
7:00 PM
COAT DRIVE
The Youth Group and Women’s Group have joined
together again to coordinate the parish Coat Drive.
We are looking for nearly-new coats for children/
adults to donate to those in need for fall, winter and
spring. You could help us by gathering coats at home,
washing the coats, and dropping them off at one of
the large boxes near the front entrance or office
lobby. The drive lasts from October 6th through November 2nd. Thanks!
Volunteers Needed
The Bereavement Team was wondering if their
would be people in our St. Ambrose Parish
Community that know how to knit or crotchet.
We are in need of shawls for our Bereavement
Shawl Ministry.
If you are interested or have any questions please
call Pat or Debbie at 466-2921
at the parish office.
November Food Drive…
Canned soups, stews, chili and prepared pasta.
Thanks so much for your continued contribution to those in
need. Please check the expiration date—the local organizations will not accept dates on canned or boxed goods.
Thank you.

to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life,
to the breaking of the bread and to prayer.” Full information on the series is being posted at webpage BuildingABetterlDisciple.tumbir.com. What follows is a quick
overview of the sessions (clicking on the links will take
you to the registration page for each webinar).
October 27, 2014 Christian Community: The Foundation of Discipleship—Faith is nurtured and sustained in
the context of a community of believers. This session
will explore how the Church in various contexts (family,

numerous activities such as art classes, German classes,

**This is a quick reminder to ALL parents. All of the
fundraisers that St. Ambrose School sponsors are used to
help defray tuition costs. The total cost to educate a child
at St. Ambrose School is about $5,100.00 per child. So,
fundraisers are held throughout the year to keep tuition
costs down. Our main 2 fundraisers are the Applefest, and
the auction in January. Please VOLUNTEER and PLAN
to attend the auction on January 31st.
**On November 8, 2014, the 34th Annual Benefit Dance

Applefest Thank You
A BIG “Thank YOU” to everyone that helped make Applefest 2014 a success! We were blessed in many ways
this year with great weather, great turn out, and especially
great help. This event was made possible with the support
of our community, our school parents, and our parish
families and friends.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of
the businesses and individuals of the school and parish
that made contributions to Applefest. These donations help
provide tremendous amounts of support, resources and
funds that help our event continue to be a success each
year.
We would also like to thank all of the individuals and
families that donated time in various areas during the
event. Whether working the games, food or beverage areas, basket raffle, ticket sales, set up and tear down, Applefest could not have been done with out your help.
A special thank you to our Applefest committee: Tom
and Erin Spain, Jim and Amelia Dixon, Alison Richars,
Jaymie Smith, Jeff and Shannon Lauritzen, Kevin and
Darcy Rowland, and Suzanne and Bob Cogan. Your
countless hours and assistance in planning, set up and
work are most appreciated. You are a wonderful group of
people and we are truly grateful for all of your hard work
and efforts!
A very special thank you to former Applefest Chairs,
Craig & Katie Dixon. Your continued guidance, help, and
assistance in every aspect of Applefest was most appreciated (and needed.) We cannot begin to thank you enough!
Sincerely,
Kevin & Mary Kline, Applefest Co-Chairs
