一、教材分析: The analysis of the textbook 1、教材的地位及作用 Position and function As we know reading is main part of teaching in senior school. Reading plays an important part in English learning .The reading texts in senior textbooks contain materials of all kinds. Lesson 74 is a story, a key part in this unit. Through reading the students can learn about how the women in the west were looked down upon in the past and realize the importance of being equal men and women. The students will be educated in the way of loving their homeland after reading. 2、教学目标及确立目标的依据 Teaching aims and foundation: As the outline of teaching and the quality education demands, the main task of the English course in senior lies in the development of reading skill and learning method. So the aims of teaching are: 1)知识目标: Knowledge: A. to help the student understand the gist and details of reading material. B. to learn and use language point and expressions C. To be able to retell the text and practice in new situations 2)能力目标: Ability: A.to teach the students how to read with understanding efficiently,breaking reading down into enabling skills. B. to train the ability in how to search information, deal with information and combine it. 3)德育目标: Moral: to set the sense of being equal and loving one’s one’s own country 3、教学的重点和难点 Important and difficult point: As the outline of teaching demands, the difficult and important point of this lesson are: Important: reading comprehension. Difficult: Get a deeper understanding of the process of reading itself and learning language through practice 二、教材处理 Textbook dealt: 4、学生状况分析及对策 The condition of the students and solution: At present, senior one students are seldom aware of what reading comprehension is. While reading they pay no attention to the content and main idea. Even they do no reading and understanding at all. They know nothing about English vocabulary and grammar. They don’t focus on improving the ability of understanding. Solution: focus on the improvement of reading level of the students. In the process of reading, we should stick to the principle of teaching material as a whole and learn words in sentences, learn sentences in paragraphs and learn grammar in contexts. To highlight the combination of skimming and skinning. To train the ability of reading speed and understanding.
