Terms and Conditions
1.
The Programme is open to applicants who have firmly accepted their offer of a place on the King’s LLM
programme commencing in September 2015 (2015 entry). Scholarships will be awarded to offer-holders on the
basis of outstanding merit and not on the basis of financial need.
2. The award of a scholarship to an offer-holder will be conditional on (i) the offer-holder accepting a place on the
King’s LLM programme and (ii) fulfilment by the offer-holder of all conditions attached to his or her offer of a
place at King’s by the stated deadline. An offer-holder who has been awarded a scholarship must therefore fully
meet all conditions attached to his or her King’s offer exactly in order by midnight on Tuesday 31 March 2015 for
the scholarship to be confirmed.
3. The scholarships are intended to benefit students enrolled on the LLM programme at The Dickson Poon School
of Law, King’s College London. You will forfeit your scholarship if you transfer to another university or other
institution, transfer to any other King's programme, or (subject to 4 below) withdraw as or otherwise cease to be
a fulltime undergraduate Law student at the School. If the School makes a payment under the scholarship to you
in these circumstances, you will be required to refund this amount to the School immediately. You will not be
2
required to refund previous Scholarship payments provided these were made while you were duly studying at
the School.
4. If you interrupt your studies due to serious illness, accident or other reasonable cause, you must notify the
School in writing as soon as possible. In these circumstance the School will, provided that it is satisfied that the
reason for the interruption is reasonable, defer the payment of any remaining part of the Scholarship to the
academic year in which you resume your studies.
5. As scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit, scholarship holders are expected to maintain or exceed a high
upper second class honours standard or an equivalent overseas qualification throughout the course of their
studies at the School. Should you fail to do so, or if you are required by the School to repeat any part of your
studies and/or to re-sit any examinations, the School may choose to withdraw the award of the scholarship.
Should this happen no further payments will be made to you under the scholarship.
6. You may hold a scholarship together with any other funding or scholarship received from any other person or
organisation, with the exception of any fee waiver granted by the College.
7. We may choose to withdraw the scholarship if you engage in any conduct that materially damages or is intended
to damage the reputation of the Programme, School or the College.
8. If you have been awarded the scholarship expressly reserved for residents of Malaysia, you will be required to
sign a written statement to the effect that you intend to return to your country of residence upon completion of
your studies.
9. You may be asked to participate in promotional activity in support of the Programme, and you should be willing
to do so at the reasonable request of the School.
10. The School reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of the Programme and any arrangements
contained in the Guidance Notes.
