(PAUSE) Welcome to Good Shepherd for the feast of The Dedication of the Lateran Basilica. We extend a special welcome to visitors and new parishioners. 5:00, 9:00, 10:30, 12:00: We invite you to fully participate in the liturgy in word and song. As we gather together in your name we pray for our needs and the needs of the world. Lector: (Do not announce a response. Slight pauses indicated by “…”) 1. For Pope Francis, bishops, clergy, and all of us assembled today: that we continue to grow in faith and build community in the light of Christ …we pray… 2. For those elected to public office: that God's word guides their decisions to lead with justice and promote peace …we pray… 3. For all who lack the freedom of religion: that their governments recognize their right to worship God in public and in peace …we pray… 4. For the Bishops of the United States, as they meet this week: that God may bless and guide their discussions …we pray… 5. In thanksgiving for the success of Service Saturday that our parish efforts will help the poor, marginalized and forgotten …we pray… 6. For all who serve and protect others around the world and in our community, that God will keep them safe …we pray… 7.
