Wednesday Night Programs: 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. ~ November 5th November 2, 2014 WELCOME TO WORSHIP! It’s COMMUNION SUNDAY at NEW HOPE On behalf of my wife and the pastoral staff I would like to thank all of you for the kindness expressed to us through cards, gifts, and well-wishes this past Sunday for Pastor Appreciation Day. We are blessed to serve such a fine congregation and we are excited by the folks God is bringing our way and the new things He is doing in our church. Thank you for remembering to pray for us all. We want to show strong support for Shawn Harrison, our guest speaker next Sunday. He will share for 20 or so minutes concerning his personal story regarding his struggle with his sexual identity. We will have a panel discussion as well, featuring Pastor Jeremiah, Dr. Sloan, Dr. Brathwaite, and Dr. Miller on the topic of Christian Sexuality. There will be time for Q&A and a luncheon will follow. Please feel free to bring food to share. Also, we will take a love offering for Shawn Harrison. Now let us worship and prepare for the Communion Table at the conclusion of our service today. – Pastor Joel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please Sign The Guest Register Today … Be sure to give one of our greeters your name, address, phone number, and email address ~ you’ll receive a Welcome Bag. It’s our way of saying Thank You for visiting our church today. Don’t worry, your information is safe; it will not be shared with anyone. We sincerely appreciate your visit with us. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NEXT SUNDAY – Shawn Harrison – Panel Discussion – and Lunch! Most likely you noticed the sign this week. Christian Sexuality can be a tough subject. That’s why we’ve devoted time to look in depth at God’s Word and get input from a variety of gifted people. It requires us to step out of our comfort zone but it allows us to minister to people, to serve rather than be silent, and to be proactive rather than reactive. The church will not compromise truth; instead we offer God’s amazing grace to all. Plan to stay for lunch next Sunday as well. There’ll be time to get acquainted with our guest and to share fellowship with each other. If each family will bring a main dish and a side to share, there’ll be plenty of food! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J.O.Y. Fellowship – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8th, 9:00 a.m. – After a great trip to Amish Country in October, the group opted to do another trip in November, this time to Hartville. There are several suggestions for stops; for sure, there’ll be a visit to the Hartville Hardware and lunch at the Hartville Kitchen. Need any more enticement to come along? See Florence Nickel. ############## REMEMBER To Exercise Your Right To VOTE On TUESDAY, November 4th Children’s Ministries – Hey Kids … AWANA is the place to be on Wednesdays. Bring your Bible, an offering, and a friend. There’s a great topic for this lesson, too! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Youth Happenings – Level 13! is taking our teens to a new level. Ask any of them. Pastor Jeremiah and his team of sponsors have meetings that provide young people with good Biblical instruction, worship and praise, and lots of fellowship. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Adults – The teaching and discussion on the Book of Mark is superb! Dr. David Sloan is helping us “dig deep” into this book. Whether you have never opened the Gospel of Mark before or have studied it all your life, you can expect to understand and learn what Mark has to say and to be transformed by his message. This week, we’ll move into Chapter 2 and perhaps get to Chapter 3:6. See you in class! ~~~~~~~~~~~ Our Prayer Team is always available to take your needs to the Lord. Patsy Rosser will take your request anytime. Give her a call 330-688-5077 to add your needs to the Prayer Book. They meet Wednesday night and Saturday morning. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attendance and Offering Report October 26th October Total Budget General Fund $ 2,672.00 $ 7,052.00 * $ 9,000.00/mo.
