The program The Engagement and Partnership Program reflects SLQ’s emphasis on innovative, cohesive and collaborative programs and service delivery, bringing together visitor and information services, and engagement with specific audiences. It plays a key role in maturing existing strategic partnerships and developing new partnerships that will assist SLQ to achieve its mission, and improving access for all Queenslanders and connecting library services in the digital age. This includes partnering with agencies such as the Brisbane Writers Festival, the Queensland Writers Centre and the State of Writing (including the black & write! Initiative). The branch The Communities of Interest branch will develop and deliver programming in collaboration with articulated priority communities of interest. About the job As The Edge Program Support Officer, you will be an integral part of The Edge programming team. You will draw on your creative or cultural sector experience to form part of a creative team committed to delivering high quality, innovative programs and opportunities for young people and delivery of programs for The Edge. Working as part of a team and at times independently, you will also provide support and assistance to programming staff, contracted artists, facilitators and community members. This diverse and interesting role requires excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills. Duties and responsibilities include: • Supporting the Creative Manager and Programming Team in the research, development and delivery of programs and events for The Edge. • Planning, coordinating and monitoring the delivery of workshops and regular programming, i.e. introductory, intermediate and advanced workshops, with support from the Creative Manager and Programming Team. • Proactively developing relationships and collaborating with a diverse range of young people, public libraries, educational, indigenous and community groups, SLQ colleagues, and various other organisations both locally and within regional and remote communities, to deliver projects and programs. • Adhering to the various aspects of creative projects and programs, including artist liaison, contracts, database entry (EBMS), monitoring costs and expenditure within a defined budget, event plans and day-to-day administration. • Assisting in program and event delivery, including event set-up, front of house duties, event completion and evaluation. • Assist the development of best practice processes and procedures required to ensure the successful execution and implementation of The Edge programs. • Working with The Edge staff to plan, develop and evaluate programs and projects and ensuring that initiatives are delivered on schedule and on budget, while meeting quality standards, Program Support Officer, Communities of Interest [Engagement & Partnerships Program] www.slq.qld.gov.au Page 2 of 6 Last revised: 17 October 2014 • Working with The Edge and SLQ staff to develop socially inclusive projects and programs which support the SLQ strategic plan and develop partnerships with external organisations. • Contribute to the achievement of a positive and effective team and work environment by participating in work area goal setting and service improvement. • Comply with health and safety policies, procedures, hazard reporting and safe work practices. • Other duties as required.
