In this hands-on activity, participants design and wire up a custom designed postcards incorporating LED lights, as an opportunity to extend the postcard project in your community. This free online space allows you to discover, create and share unique and diverse stories about the Queensland experience of the First World War. In a fun and supportive environment, practice the skills and confidence required to engage in effective communication with the primary caregivers and carers of 0-5 year old children about their role in and the information and resources available to them. Practical ideas for language and literacy contexts, such as sharing books and rhymes, including Baby Time and Story Time will be presented. Outreach opportunities connecting to local organisations in the promotion of clear and consistent communication and literacy messages to parents and primary caregivers will also be addressed. Resources, examples and handouts will all be available for staff to take away and apply to their own context.
