You do not know when the Lord of the house is coming. A WORD ABOUT THE WORD by Deacon Bob Fishman Today we celebrate the feast of Christ the King! Do came to give us all life and that through the incredible we ever think of our Lord as the King that He truly is? power of the Resurrection glory, Jesus has conquered Many times I know I have treated Him disrespectfully, death, which is our greatest fear. Finally our blessed and sometimes I have not even acknowledged His pres- Lord Himself in the Gospel reminds us that when we ence in the Tabernacle as I walk on by. This is the day do good things for the very least in our society, we have to change all that. Every time we go to Mass we can done them unto Him. St. Teresa of Avila reminds us experience time with a King. Not just any king, but the that He has no hands or feet but ours, and with Christ King of Kings. How cool is that? In our first reading working inside us when we do these acts we do them the great prophet Ezekiel tells us how the Lord shep- for Him. Think about that. Mother Teresa used to say herds us throughout our lifetime. Recently on PBS I “Do not do extraordinary things, rather do small things saw footage of a young teen in the Middle East who was with extraordinary love.” When we are baptized we a shepherd. He would walk around and around the flock enter into Christ’s ministry as Priest, Prophet and King. and if a sheep wandered away he would go after it and Today we remember and honor this King whom we in a not so gentle way guide it back to the flock. God serve. So take some time this week and do something sometimes does this with us. We too often wander away kind for someone else and then offer it to King Jesus. and God will gently correct us to bring us back to Him. We serve a God who loves us so much that He became Sometimes the correction is hard but it is all done be- one of us and we have the privilege and honor to have cause He loves us. Parents have to do the same for their an audience with the King above all Kings, and here’s children not because they want to inflict correction, but a little tidbit, He longs to have an audience with you as because they love us and want the very best for us. St. well... Something to think about…All Hail Christ the Paul continues this thought by reminding us that Christ King…May God richly bless you always… WORD of the DAY Monday, Nov. 24 Memorial of St. Andrew Dung-Lac Priest & Companions, Martyrs Sirach 51:1-8 Matthew 10:28-33 Tuesday, Nov. 25 Weekday Revelation14:14-19 Luke 21:5-11 Wednesday, Nov. 26 Weekday Revelation 15:1-4 Luke 21:12-19 Thursday, Nov. 27 Weekday Revelation18:1-2, 21-23; 19-1-3, 9a Luke 21:20-28 Friday, Nov. 28 Weekday Revelation 20:1-4, 11-21:2 Luke 21:29-33 Saturday, Nov. 29 Weekday Revelation 22:1-7 Luke 21:34-36 F F aith ormation LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN Liturgy of the Word for Children from Pre-school through Grade 2 will NOT MEET TODAY, NOVEMBER 23, OR NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30.
