THE ELF SHELF REMINDER
The Elf Shelf is for the younger students to come shop for their parents,
grandparents, siblings and even their doggies.
This gives them a chance to buy gifts for their loved ones.
We even wrap their gifts for them!
This year we have a variety of items: socks, ornaments,
Bath & Body Works lotion and hand sanitizer, travel mugs, some small
toys, notepads, Christmas pens & pencils, doggie gift bags
(filled with dog biscuits), etc.
Gifts are very low priced and most are around $6.
Open Mon-Fri from 7:30 to 10:00 in the Elementary Art Room.
Reminder to FRA parents:
Friday, December 19 is the last day of school before the Christmas
break. Please remember that this is a half day for students and
dismissal will be at 11:30. High School school students will be able to
leave after they have finished final exams on Wednesday, Thursday
and Friday. There will be no breakfast break for middle school and
high school students on Friday, and no lunch will be served.

FRA Can Drive
Due to the success of our last Can Drive and
the need for food during the Christmas Season,
the FRA Key Club is hosting a second can drive.
During our last can drive, all proceeds went to
the Pike County Outreach center.
The Can Drive will start December 9th and will continue on
until Tuesday, December 16th.
ALL Students that bring AT LEAST five cans will get to participate in a
game for the chance to win the prize basket!! For questions please

YEARBOOK REMINDERS!
Purchase your yearbook before December 31 and get a $15 discount!
Yearbooks can be ordered by phone at (866) 282-1516, or online at
www.jostensyearbooks.com. After January 1, the price of the yearbook
will increase to $65. Get yours now!
Parents of Seniors - The deadline for creating and paying for your
senior’s dedication page in the yearbook is also December 31.
You can do it from your home computer and it’s easy!
Go to www.jostensadservice.com to design and pay for your
student’s page.
new web site
The new web site should now be available at
www.flintriveracademy.com. Two of our staff members will be trained
how to update information on the site, but the training will not take
place until Wednesday afternoon. Some information on the new site
may be out of date or missing, but we will work on this during the next
month. I look forward to our web site having current information and
becoming useful for our families, alumni, and persons seeking
information about our school.

Dear Parents of Flint River Academy Students,
Did you know that you can redirect your Georgia Tax dollars to
Flint River Academy to directly support our student’s education?
A single individual can contribute up to $1000 per year, a married
couple can contribute up to $2500 per year, and a C-corp or
eligible Trust can contribute up to 75% or their GA Tax Liability.
This is better than a tax deduction because this tax credit will give you a
dollar-for-dollar reduction in the amount you owe in Georgia taxes.
You can do this by submitting completing the application for Apogee
at the following web address: www.apogee123.org.
Additional information is available in the main school office.
The deadline for submitting an application is midnight on December 31.
You will have until the end of March to pay the credit to the State of
Georgia and in return you will receive a voucher to use for the tax year
2015. The money contributed for Flint River Academy will then be used
to provide financial assistance for some of our students.
Please consider helping our school and by doing so you will receive
a state tax credit.
